August 29, 2021 at 10:57 am #85698Mister RobotoParticipantFrom yesterday’s comment-thread:
The *precious narrative* doesn’t want anyone to investigate what could be outcomes from the vaccines. No problem here, just move on. Nearly everyone I care about has been vaccinated. I’m extraordinarily worried about.
YouTube has now added to their censorship policies a proviso that says they will take down any video that discussing Covid vaccine side effects. So Much Winning!
August 29, 2021 at 11:05 am #85700upstateNYerParticipant“Residents in all 62 counties in New York state should now wear mask indoors, even if they’re vaccinated, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.”
We’re right back where we started. This is never going to end. Don’t know how much longer I can take it. So frustrated and demoralized.
August 29, 2021 at 11:11 am #85701Formerly T-BearParticipantPlease ‘splain these:
* Is it a break-in if the front door is open? Why is it a break-through when no preventive protection is given?
Enlighten me about the ‘logic salad’ in this paragraph:
The team’s second major finding was more reassuring: People who never develop symptoms during a “breakthrough” infection carry very low levels of virus – a finding that should ease concerns that vaccinated people are unknowingly fueling the pandemic. However, vaccinated people who do have symptoms had the same levels of virus as infected unvaccinated people – so can spread the virus. This confirms a finding first revealed weeks ago by a CDC study in Provincetown, Massachusetts. “You’re essentially as infectious as someone who was unvaccinated,” he said. [..] Vaccination is not to be blamed for the increase in variants with these mutations, Chiu said. Because we naturally produce antibodies in response to exposure and infection, the virus is constantly changing to survive. “The virus is going to evolve to become antibody resistant, whether or not you deploy a vaccine,” he said. “But because we have a vaccine, there’s a way to prevent the virus from spreading and evolving further.”
1. asymptomatic carry low levels of virus and do not shed virus significantly. How then can “a finding that should ease concerns that vaccinated people are unknowingly fueling [sic] the pandemic”? BUT “vaccinated people who do have symptoms had the same levels of virus as infected unvaccinated people – so can spread the virus” even though the jab is understood to give just that protection? However “Vaccination is not to be blamed for the increase in variants with these mutations” when the mutations are driven by the presence of jab produced antibodies? Then the ‘duh’: “Because we naturally produce antibodies in response to exposure and infection, the virus is constantly changing to survive. “The virus is going to evolve to become antibody resistant, whether or not you deploy a vaccine”, this statement is of the obvious to be followed by “But because we have a vaccine, there’s a way to prevent the virus from spreading and evolving further.” for which there is no evidence, given what the manufactures have claimed their jabs do NOT do those things.
That whole paragraph needs go back to the editor shop for re-examination before being released to the public readership. BUT given the state of ersatz journalism … abandon all hope who enter there.
August 29, 2021 at 11:21 am #85702upstateNYerParticipantmy parents, from yesterday: “The rotten part is that he called me an idiot for saying I wouldn’t be taking the “vaccine”. I don’t feel “I told you so”- I feel rotten.”
I understand. I don’t feel “I told you so” toward anyone who has been vaccinated and harmed and/or could be harmed as the months unfold. I feel angry with the gov’t for terrorizing and lying to its citizens, and brokenhearted over the potential harm that could result. Going to be a tough day for me. 🙁

UpstateNYer – The grind here in Victoria Australia is one of the most gruesome in the world and it is really starting to get to people. I think people will start going out and breaking things soon. A few local teenagers committed suicide within the last few weeks and this small town is beginning to notice major cracks in the pavement.

Including login and taking temps of every person entering the office, protocol for use on residential construction sites, etc., etc. Then I had to login to a NYS gov’t website, register the business and certify the policy was in place prior to being allowed to open. Here’s the link to Russia-Saudi, https://gulfnews.com/world/gulf/saudi/saudi-arabia-signs-military-cooperation-deal-with-russia-1.1629762335445
Of course we don’t REALLY know what they’re signing, but even the headline is pretty clear. The PetroDollar was the U.S. defending Saudi, raising the oil price to make them rich, they had to keep pumping, the U.S. could build no new refineries, while Saudi required payment in US$ that were recycled in the Treasury Bond system, and they could skim X amount of physical gold on the side but not break the market. The “U.S. Defends” part seems to be over. I believe they already have forays into taking other currencies in the “multi-polar world” as well. The U.S. stole the Saudi gold stored in Switzerland, so, just a matter of time. …They stole it to keep the gold price rigged, as it takes a small but steady loss of physical to maintain fake prices and they ran out of physical…thus attacking Ukr, Libya, Syria. …I mean, plus 10,000 felonies a day, but pish-posh, that’s just a given in a lawless West.
…Oh, that was AFTER the huge South America/Peso crisis where the West put Saudi into hundred-billion of these assets, then they all dropped 90% like the later Asian Tiger crisis. Ooops! Never trust Sachs. Or the Anglos. So that was another world-breaking fortune the Anglos stuffed down on Saudi like suckers. Don’t think they forget. They then used the money to buy up, own, and merge with Wall St, CIA, and the President until they owned the place. Then used the US/CIA to export their weird Wahaabism and Islamic extremism worldwide. We’ve been living under a Saudi merger ever since. Who paid for the President’s expensive school? But they’re all peas in a pod. Look at Syria, mask off, who was there? Merger of CIA, Saudi, Israel, DNC, side helping of EU and Turkey. All run for BP/Exxon/Halliburton pipelines funded by Morgan/HSBC. What do you Parliamentary type people call it? That’s your last known coalition, unity government? I mean, it’s not really a secret, is it?
“a growing list of studies that are unraveling why the vaccinated are still so susceptible to infection”
Because that’s what happened all 10 years, every year, of mRNA studies? Wow, a repeatable experiment: it’s not science. We just need to do it harder with more feeling. More lawyers, more spin. Then science/medicine/reality will change.
Have to hand it to Israel. I thought they were way more locked down than this, but despite making the largest mistake in medical history, they are also identifying and publishing the results. I have heard the new Biden bill is “regulating”, that is outlawing, supplements like Vitamin D. It would take the rest of my life to read the pig-bill though, so we have to pass it and wait for the sheriff to find out.
“Is It Time To Stop Obsessing Over Covid Figures? (DM)”Obviously. With the new tests, after Jan 1 everyone will be dying but of everything BUT Covid. Hey stupid: Covid doesn’t exist anymore, all these strokes are the flu and natural causes. Geez. You knew they’d have to flip this, right? If they tell you you need to get it because it doesn’t work, there’s no lie they won’t tell. They’re not just going to print: “oops, we killed everyone, burn Moderna and hang your congressman today.”
“he was critical of the coronavirus vaccine. “It doesn’t stop infection. Or transmission. Don’t think of it as a vaccine,” the tweet read.”
He’s quoting the CDC and the CDC Director. That’s now fake news. BECAUSE WE SAID SO, THAT’S WHY. Walensky then also said passports won’t work, such as deBlasio is installing and going to starve 70% of Black NY into compliance because they are no longer allowed to work or go to grocery stores. And wear yellow armbands.

Jewsdissenters, get them to safe areas on an underground railroad. Your choice.“Residents in all 62 counties in New York state should now wear mask indoors, even if they’re vaccinated,”
I’m more frustrated the people say “Yes, okay, uh-huh.” Like, were you not JUST watching the world’s largest bait-and-switch, ‘f– you up the a–‘ lie in the history of this sorry planet? “2 Weeks to flatten the curve”, “Just until we get a vaccine” “Only the unvaccinated need a mask” “Oops: YOU GET NOTHING!!! You LOSE!!! Good Day sir!” And you’re going to LIKE it or I’ll shut off your food, your money, your friends, your family, your doctor, your phone!”
Tell me how I’m kidding here. Literally food in NYC. Literally doctors refuse you medical care. They’ll tend people who are axe-murderers, with unlimited care, people who blew their hands off with home fireworks, gang members who shot each other – they’re all Hippocratic Oath, but not a chemo patient unvaxxed. Or a Hassid. That’s just too far. Biden literally said he would be listening to your phone, your private texts, and erasing them. CDC literally says you can’t see other people. Australia says you literally aren’t allowed to talk to your neighbors, 20 feet away, covered up, because “masks work” so well. They literally ban from talking all people who are doctors, licensed and required to talk, and de-fund debank many, even arresting a few. What am I leaving out or being hyperbolic about? My hyperbolic so far has just been being a few weeks early.

August 29, 2021 at 2:43 pm #85722Doc RobinsonParticipant“People who never develop symptoms during a “breakthrough” infection carry very low levels of virus…”
That is what’s reported in the mainstream media. I looked at the study details to see what’s being left out of the narrative. The study actually makes it clear that the “asymptomatic” (which is not the same as pre-symptomatic) cases have significantly lower viral loads than the symptomatic cases, regardless of whether someone has been vaccinated or not.
“Viral RNA loads were significantly higher overall for symptomatic as compared to asymptomatic infections for both vaccine breakthrough and unvaccinated cases.”
Some other results from the study:
“There was no difference in viral RNA loads between fully vaccinated breakthrough and unvaccinated cases, either overall or according to lineage [variant].“
“…symptomatic breakthrough cases are as infectious as symptomatic unvaccinated cases, and likely contribute to ongoing SARS-CoV-2 transmission, even in a highly vaccinated community.”
There was also this, which I have some questions about:
“Differences in RNA viral loads for vaccine breakthroughs as compared to unvaccinated cases were non-significant for symptomatic cases, but were significant for asymptomatic cases.”
They are looking at “asymptomatic” cases for the vaccinated, and comparing them to unvaccinated cases where the patients are said to have “reported no symptoms”. But patients reporting no symptoms might actually be pre-symptomatic, with higher viral loads that eventually cause symptoms (in contrast with the lower viral loads of the truly asymptomatic). It seems that conclusions about the asymptomatic shouldn’t be made unless there is a clear (and consistently applied) distinction between “asymptomatic” and “presymptomatic,” and good data would require a lot of follow-up with the patients, to see if symptoms ever develop.
For the comparison of viral loads, they compared the cycles (Ct values) of the positive PCR tests, using medical records of Covid infections in patients at UCSF hospitals and clinics. Among the 598 patients who had enough data to be used in this study, there were only 10 vaccinated patients identified as “asymptomatic”. The Ct values for these 10 “asymptomatic” vaccinated patients were compared to the Ct counts for the 132 unvaccinated patients who “reported no symptoms.”
Thus, the conclusions being made about viral loads of “asymptomatic” breakthrough cases are based on the PCR test Ct values for only ten patients! And the comparisons to the unvaccinated patients who “reported no symptoms” could in some cases be like comparing apples (asymptomatic vaccinated) to oranges (presymptomatic unvaccinated).
Retrospective medical chart review was performed for a subset of patients from UCSF hospitals and clinics with available clinical and demographic data (n=598)… 39 breakthrough infections in this subset… 28 (72%) were identified as symptomatic and 10 (26%) as asymptomatic…
Among the unvaccinated infections (n=433), 287 (66%) patients presented with symptoms while 132 (30%) patients reported no symptoms…
Viral RNA loads for infected persons in the cohort were estimated by comparison of differences in mean cycle threshold (Ct) values using quantitative RT-PCR…
There was no difference in viral RNA loads between fully vaccinated breakthrough and unvaccinated cases, either overall (p = 0.99) or according to lineage (p = 0.09 – 0.78). Viral RNA loads were significantly higher overall for symptomatic as compared to asymptomatic infections for both vaccine breakthrough (p = 0.0014, ΔCt = 8.8 [95% CI 4.0 – 13.7]) and unvaccinated (p = 9.8e-05, ΔCt = 2.8 [95% CI 1.42 – 4.21]) cases (Figure 3B). Differences in RNA viral loads for vaccine breakthroughs as compared to unvaccinated cases were non-significant for symptomatic cases (p = 0.64, ΔCt = 0.6 [95% CI -2.0 – 3.2]), but were significant for asymptomatic cases (p = 0.023, ΔCt = -5.4 [95% CI -9.9 – 0.09]), while viral RNA loads of hospitalized patients with COVID-19 did not differ significantly from those of outpatients (Figure S2).

The menacing hurricane “could damage close to 1 million homes along the U.S. Gulf Coast” and cause upwards of “$220 billion,” CoreLogic report said Saturday. The property and data analytics firm is worried that a dangerous storm surge could hit 941,392 properties in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama.
Finally, as Mike Shedlock notes, oil production is going to face serious disruptions:
Ida’s projected path has made it a threat to the vast oil refining and petrochemical complex situated along the U.S. Gulf Coast, though the storm’s more easterly track Friday suggested it would miss the heart of those operations in Texas and along the Texas-Louisiana border.
Refineries in Louisiana and Mississippi had started to reduce or halt output, which will lead to some gasoline-delivery delays.
Projections have Ida sweeping through the bulk of U.S. offshore oil production, located south and southeast of Louisiana, said Andy Lipow, president of Houston-based consulting firm Lipow Oil Associates. He expects as much as 90% of offshore oil output to close ahead of the storm.“Hurricane Ida is showing up probably in the worst possible location for oil production,” Mr. Lipow said.
Here’s a list, courtesy of Bloomberg, of all major oil and gas production sites shuttered and their capacity in barrels per day.

Highest numbers since March.August 29, 2021 at 4:05 pm #85728NoiretteParticipantDavid Martin (who investigated the cov. patents etc.) said in his interview w. Kunstler that China used cov-19 to carry out a live drill in case of bio-warfare. The ‘plandemic’ aspect….
Mulitple countries stated that hospitals are/were overwhelmed, completely falsely in many cases. A first, obvious result of a serious ‘plandemic’ is lack of hospital beds. That became a self-fulfilling prophecy, a mantra. Everywhere. It continues today. How to deal with the squeeze was not really properly adressed, either in plans or RL, afaik only China built ‘field hospitals’. (Maybe a realistic part of the ‘drill’…?)
In CH at the first public alarm (feb-march 2020) ppl were reassured by the annoucement that 8K military had been put on standby, with another 8K for backup – CH has a conscription army – to set up field hospitals, transport the sick / docs / matériel (and dead, not spelled out), and so on. —> All plans based on previous experience with the plague and a “successful” strategy not long ago, 1760.
Err… The hospitals were not overwhelmed (emergency services / mortuaries did have a hard time at some point), in part because all private clinics melded with the public sector, some might call it ‘were requisitioned’, but the agreements are long-standing. (Payments can be sorted later.) I only know this because I’m on the ground, so idk about other countries, except China, which publicised the ‘field hosp.’ thing.
France, other story. Some public hospitals were indeed under terrible stress, because of chronic underfunding, past privatisations, poorly organised transport – no funds for alternative measures – etc.
‘Plandemic’ is bery visible. Many Gvmts (their med. board / advisors, etc.) reacted according to their laid-down plans of ‘what to do’ which were, one guesses, organised by certain factions, 1, branded ‘best practice’ moves, like lockdowns, test and trace, etc. implemented, once triggered, as pre-set. When I suggested that my church choir, from my very liberal church, discuss meeting, this was the beginning of one response:
I do not think this question should be decided by a purely democratic

“In our religious lives, the democratic process requires trust in the development of each individual conscience—a belief that such development is possible for each of us, as well as a commitment to cultivate our own conscience. We could call it a commitment to the value of each person. In the words of Theodore Parker, ‘Democracy means not “I am as good as you are,” but “You are as good as I am.”’ My connection with the sacred is only as precious as my willingness to acknowledge the same connection in others.”

And a shout out of appreciation to Raul, all commenters, and the lurkers — I am so grateful to be a part of TAE. Daily we try to make sense out of a non-sensical world.

Thanks for diving deeper into that medrxiv piece. I confirms my first glance idea, that it looks set to confuse, with the apples and oranges thing. These are some of the best sources we have, the xiv publications, but I’m not sure about their intentions. Same as for Nature etc., obviously.
I started a piece on a Lancet article Friday on variants and vaccines, “Delta twice as likely to land you in hospital!”, that both Guardian and Daily Mail ran stuff on, and abandoned it when seeing the entire thing was based on “research” between between 29 March and 23 May 2021. When “Only 1.8% of the cases, regardless of variant, had received both doses of the vaccine, 24% had been vaccinated once and the majority (74%) were unvaccinated.” “..delta variant was first detected in England in March, 2021, and as a VOC on May 6, 2021.” But yeah, in the last week of the research Delta cases jumped…
Absolutely useless. That’s what we’re up against.

TJK: Sounds like a nice ride you had yesterday, with plenty of climbing. I used to visit
the Palomar Observatory in the mid-60s with my dad, and was really awed. Neat you
had family involved with the telescope!
There are a few other bike riders here; I am one.August 29, 2021 at 6:30 pm #85736OroborosParticipantI find the Signal-to-Noise ratio or, SNR in the Newsisphere to be approaching White Noise.
White Noise:
“In discrete time, white noise is a discrete signal whose samples are regarded as a sequence of serially uncorrelated random variables with zero mean and finite variance..”
A simple example of white noise is a nonexistent radio station (static)
