I am still dubious as to whether a vaccine will ever be effective.
If the antibodies disappear quickly [to zero for 83% of people within 2 months, and almost 100% after 3 months] then how useful will a vaccine actually be?
It is claimed that 50% or more of the population are naturally resistant to the virus. This seems reasonable – I have not had the common flu for over 40 years although I must have been exposed,. My immune system deals with it as routine! This means that much of the population will be vaccinated when there is no need.
The current vaccines can have side effects, sometimes serious. The Russians claim their vaccine has no side effects but that needs verification.
Fauci now says that any vaccine is likely to be 50% to 60% effective.
Summarising : 50% of the population will not need a vaccine, and may suffer side effects if they do. For the rest the vaccine may only be effective for 2 months, or not at all.
Another question I have is whether repeat vaccinations cause ever increasing amounts of antibodies which may start harming the body’s organs.

http://www.johndayblog.com/2020/08/accidents-happen.htmlMoon Of Alabama has videos, and what appears to be the final update as to the causal sequence, which fits well with about 10 videos from various angles and distances. The impounded fireworks were in the same warehouse with impounded ammonium nitrate, a high explosive, when detonated by another explosion. The first fireworks explosion blew off the roof, and the compartments were not much separated, as fireworks continued to detonate.
There is a short video of firefighters at the initial fire. Reportedly none survived when the fireworks fire set off the ammonium nitrate. Another video shows the initial fire caused by welding. It burns a while and then sets off fireworks in a first explosion. This takes the roof off the warehouse. A few minutes later the fireworks cause the huge explosion of the ammonium nitrate.

The expected protests and riots have broken out in Beirut at the end of a week in which families mourned the over 150 killed in Tuesday’s blast centered on the port, which it’s now been revealed was the result of years of negligence by authorities who allowed 2,750 metric tons of ammonium nitrate to be unsafely stored right alongside a large stash of impounded fireworks...
Like the years-long banking crisis, the government is seen as directly responsible for this week’s epic tragedy, also given the lengthy paper trail showing multiple officials and entities begged the government to do something about the explosive substance stored so near a densely populated area...
It appears that going into the night the ministries now “taken over” the protesters include the Foreign Affairs, Environment, and Energy ministry buildings, as well as the Ministry of Economy.
Chants of “the people want the fall of the regime” as well as the burning of portraits of top Lebanese leaders and politicians, such as of President Michel Aoun could be observed during mass demonstrations at Martyr’s Square.

That is the best reporting that I’ve read.August 9, 2020 at 5:25 pm #61961Raúl Ilargi MeijerKeymasterAnti,
I think we’e down to diluting the definition of the term “vaccine”. Any substance that deserves the term would appear to have to provide immunity to a disease, not the ‘maybe’ 50 or 60% Fauci is talking about. That’s not a vaccine, that’s aspirin. Oxford:
.. a substance used to stimulate the production of antibodies and provide immunity against one or several diseases, prepared from the causative agent of a disease, its products, or a synthetic substitute, treated to act as an antigen without inducing the disease.
Judging from the wide range of symptoms and afflictions that stem from corona infections, some of which are brand new, you have to wonder what the 100+ “labs” that tout progress are doing other than counting dollars. Given that when most of them started everyone still thought it was a lung disease, you have to ask if they went back to square one when we found it wasn’t, or thought restarting the entire phase I-II-III was too much of a pain and continued regardless.

According to one of the recent Chris Martenson videos, the key may be understanding the difference in the role between B cells, which produce antibodies, and T cells, which have a different function in the immune system. T cells appear to have their own mechanism for recognizing something they have seen before — they do not rely on antibodies for this. The theory is that up to 50% of the population might have natural immunity because they have already had common colds caused by other coronaviruses. The T cells that fought off that earlier minor infection know how to put down sars-cov-2. So the best vaccine against this virus might be to catch a common cold caused by another coronavirus.

The flu vaccine has been around a long time, and yet the CDC admits that it’s only 40-60% effective, and that’s during a good year!
How effective is the flu vaccine?
CDC conducts studies each year to determine how well the influenza (flu) vaccine protects against flu illness. While vaccine effectiveness (VE) can vary, recent studies show that flu vaccination reduces the risk of flu illness by between 40% and 60% among the overall population during seasons when most circulating flu viruses are well-matched to the flu vaccine.https://www.cdc.gov/flu/vaccines-work/vaccineeffect.htm
The flu vaccine was less than 30% effective during four of the past 15 flu seasons.
For some years, the 95% Confidence Interval for this data ranges down into negative numbers for the effectiveness, which seems to suggest that the vaccine could have caused more cases of the flu than it prevented that season.

Thanks, that’s one of the most informative comments re: vaccine effectiveness.
I remember back in the 60’s my father got a flu vaccine shot. He then got the flu and was down for a week.
I have never gotten a flu shot; but did get the flu once, a decade later; and was down for a week.
No other problems.
I’ll likely pass on a corona vaccine shot once available…we’ll see…Apropos to that, is my observations that the media is corrupt period!
I no longer trust any of it, unless from someone I know, who has a proven record…
The rest is just entertainment rubbish…August 10, 2020 at 3:49 am #61966sumac.carolParticipantHere’s a link to a great article by Jon Barron on the history of pandemics and an assessment of the particular situation in the U.S. One highlight:past pandemics lasted for hundreds of years, and kept coming back every 20 years or so.
