The massive disinformation campaign waged against effective prevention and treatment does not come from ignorance and incompetence of public authorities. It comes from the agendas that Covid is being used to advance, agendas whose toll in human life and suffering is unimportant to those whose agendas are being served.

I’m not a fan of PCR’s bargain-basement neo-Confederate white nationalism, but about this one issue, he’s right on the money.

I repost this wonderful message to point out that such “memes” making the rounds spell the end of the covid hysteria. As these ‘sound bites of sanity’ proliferate and, as in this instance, become more or less bullet-proof to standard covid brain-trained mainstream nonsense (“take your shot and shut up”), the populace will mood swing away from giving a shit about covid.

I wonder if covid will prove to be the straw that fully breaks public confidence and support of government. It crosses ethnic, regional, and ideological lines. This summer will probably see public displays of mask-burnings and such.

“Why do we insist on electing such miserable people to positions of power?”

Once we’re suckered into anointing kings with public approval rather than requiring them to slash and burn their way to power as in older days, anything goes. Modern democracy confers greater power than even the Divine Right to Rule that kings employed in times past.

Outbreak in Los Barrios residence causes 46 coronavirus deaths
The Junta de Andalucía has intervened in the centre and has interrupted the inoculation of the second dose of the vaccine

The Covid-19 doesn’t give a truce. The start of the vaccination campaign in nursing homes is not preventing a trail of deaths. In Los Barrios (Cadiz) they know it well. Unfortunately, the residence Nuestra Señora del Rosario yesterday added 46 deaths by Covid-19 among its users for an outbreak recorded in January, according to data provided by the Andalusian Health Service (SAS). At the beginning of the year, residents and workers were vaccinated with the first dose of Pfizer, although the inoculation of the second dose has had to be interrupted given the incidence of the pandemic.

The situation is of such seriousness that the medicalization of the Junta de Andalucía of this private geriatric a few weeks ago has not been enough and the Ministry of Health has had to intervene this center.

An inspection of health services determined that it was a necessary measure “in the face of imminent risk to public health, and in particular to the users and workers of this centre, since the current protocol of disinfection and isolation of positive cases cannot be guaranteed”.

This Wednesday, the situation remained extremely complicated in this residence. According to the provincial secretary of the FSP of the UGT, José Porras Naranjo, there were 28 residents and 12 workers, including the director, with Covid-19. Currently this geriatric has 94 users although its capacity is 145.

UGT’s FSP ensures that the residence is not “fully” medicalized and that disinfection is being carried out by firefighters. This trade union representative reiterates his criticism of the management at this centre, as he insisted that the outbreak was detected on 12 January, that on the 18th the UGT alerted that eight majors had died and that 30 had already died on the 28th. “We’re already in 46 deaths. Where’s that medicalization and intervention? Where did the stabilization of the situation referred to in the territorial delegate a few days ago? In this residence has been acted late and wrong».

Los Barrios is not an isolated case. In a geriatrics of Sancti Petri, chiclana, 22 elderly people have already died from an outbreak that has also infected 79 residents and 24 workers in recent weeks.

The Covid Pandemic Is The Result of Public Health Authorities Blocking Effective Treatment

The Covid Pandemic Is The Result of Public Health Authorities Blocking Effective Treatment
    Paul Craig Roberts
    February 18, 2021
Yet the evidence has been kept from the public.

First, begin with prevention. Vitamin D, vitamin C, zinc, and NAC are effective and inexpensive immune boosters that ward off infection and reduce the severity of infection. Then turn to cures. Both the HCQ/zinc/antibiotic treatment and the Ivermectin/zinc/antibiotic treatment are proven, safe, and inexpensive.

The media are complicit in keeping the public uninformed. Why is this?
    ———-
    • White House ‘Working Directly’ With Big Tech To Censor ‘Vaccine Hesitancy’ (RT)
Joe Biden’s administration is reportedly working directly with Silicon Valley giants to root out ‘misinformation and disinformation’ that hampers US vaccination efforts, indicating hands-on involvement in Big Tech censorship.
“Disinformation that causes vaccine hesitancy is going to be a huge obstacle to getting everyone vaccinated and there are no larger players in that than the social media platforms,” a source with direct knowledge about the cooperation told Reuters.

    ——-
    • Congress Escalates Pressure on Tech Giants to Censor More (Greenwald)
For the third time in less than five months, the U.S. Congress has summoned the CEOs of social media companies to appear before them, with the explicit intent to pressure and coerce them to censor more content from their platforms. On March 25, the House Energy and Commerce Committee will interrogate Twitter’s Jack Dorsey, Facebooks’s Mark Zuckerberg and Google’s Sundar Pichai at a hearing which the Committee announced will focus “on misinformation and disinformation plaguing online platforms.”

    A google quickie:

“An R-loop is a three-stranded nucleic acid structure, composed of a DNA:RNA hybrid and the associated non-template single-stranded DNA. R-loops may be formed in a variety of circumstances, and may be tolerated or cleared by cellular components. The term “R-loop” was given to reflect the similarity of these structures to D-loops; the “R” in this case represents the involvement of an RNA moiety. In the laboratory, R-loops may also be created by the hybridization of mature mRNA with double-stranded DNA under conditions favoring the formation of a DNA-RNA hybrid; in this case, the intron regions (which have been spliced out of the mRNA) form single-stranded DNA loops, as they cannot hybridize with complementary sequence in the mRNA.
    ***
R-loop formation is a key step in immunoglobulin class switching, a process that allows activated B cells to modulate antibody production.[15] They also appear to play a role in protecting some active promoters from methylation.[16] The presence of R-loops can also inhibit transcription.[17] Additionally, R-loop formation appears to be associated with “open” chromatin, characteristic of actively transcribed regions.[18][19]”

“The Biden administration wants digital platforms to suppress content”

That is directly against 1A, Freedom of Speech. We know they danced around it, outsourced it, “forgot” to enforce it with Sec230, but this is direct. Cool. Glad we’re out in the open now. “Opinions are treason.” Top news sources like NBC are saying we should bomb all GOP members. –But not the Congressmen, they clarified, only the 75 million in the general population. What a relief! Professional courtesy. They’ll only have voter representation by removing all opposing party members from committees and then from Congress itself.

Meanwhile, this came up from yesterday’s comparison to totally-failed wind and solar, and totally-impossible (anti)green batteries:

“This Ismay wants to “break the will” – his words – of people who rely on gasoline to power their cars and oil and natural gas to heat their homes, in order to “combat climate change.”

“He described “turn(ing) the screws” . . . in order to “break (the) will” of such deplorables. That is to say, the desire of the deplorables to resist being impoverished – and frozen – by well-paid-by-those-who-are-forced-to-pay-them government workers such as himself.”

Ismay admits at the end of the clip, “I can’t even say that publicly.” …Because he’d be hung. For attempting to kill everyone that isn’t him and his pals. Is Texas broken yet? Is he happy, or only with a higher death count?

    Yesterday:
“The Sound and the Fury of Andrew Cuomo (New Yorker)”

There’s only one possible answer these days: Andrew hates Asians and is openly attacking them because he’s a White Nationalist™ (Patent Pending). Just like Disney hates strong women role models. What? That ISN’T the answer to all questions, animal, vegetable, and mineral? Could have fooled me. Do you have a matrix for this, a logic tree? I can’t figure it out. IF it’s gun violence BUT it’s in Chicago, THEN we don’t care. IF you commit arson AND it’s in Minnapolis whereas IF the police open the doors for you…? Something like that. Thanks.

    Yesterday:
“ The Texas Freeze is a Catastrophe of the Free Market (Galbraith)”

If you hadn’t noticed, there is no free market, or no markets at all, but ALWAYS in utilities. They are ALWAYS regulated public-private partnerships and have NEVER been market-run, at least not for 100 years. So…who do we blame when there’s no free market but government was in charge of everything but got paid off with bribes to not enforce a thousand laws already on the books? Capitalism, of course! Just like ‘08 when rating agencies didn’t cooperate and the government invented scandals to put them out of business and not make Moody and Poors look bad. …While they protected Madoff and MF Global.

Another beautiful day: News, Congress is in psychological therapy for the trauma caused by unarmed people touring the Capitol building then leaving without arrest. …The Congress and Congressmen that WEREN’T THERE. You know, like AOC.

Since they heard it on the news that the United States collapsed under the combined weight of 400 people and one pranked, but not removed, podium, I’m sure we can all understand their fears. What do they call it? “Validate their feelings.” “Fee Fees” for those toddlers. The job of psychologists these day, I guess. While we split the last pack of ramen noodles with the family and shiver in our cars waiting to die.

Any day Congress is sad and terrified is a good day for me. Maybe they can share the “American Experience” for a change. Let’s start by making them unemployed.

Stanford Salt Water Battery A Better Design?

An obstacle to such a technology is that it has less room for major corporations to extract profit all along the way. This method of electrical generation would require no mining, no long pipelines (perhaps some short pipelines,) no byproduct that can be made into cheap plastic, no lithium batteries requiring replacement every 10 years, no nuclear waste requiring a permanent babysitter service. It might even be adaptable to inland areas with large salt deposits — near inland “salt lakes” or dry ancient seas.

A municipal electric utility might opt for including this method of electrical generation, as there is no profit motive.

Regarding the electrical grid failures in Texas, I see no point in placing all of the blame in either the electrical generation companies nor the governing body that regulates them. Both “the Left” and “the Right” are able to see the collusion that occurs between the regulators and the companies that they regulate. Sure, the terms used differ ( “regulatory capture” vs. “crony capitalism,”) but the process and effect are identical. On the left I hear calls to double-down on regulation. On the right I hear calls to remove regulation and to allow the invisible hand of the market to fix the problem. Look, both more regulation and less regulation have already been tried out and failed. Our current “really existing” politico-economic system incentivizes major corporations to have practices that are not in the best interest of the mass of the people, and incentivizes government officials to collude with these corporations. Both the major corporations and the government are working to control the flow of information to the mass of people, and to disseminate corporate and political propaganda.

Currently, individuals, households, employees, small businesses, towns, cities, and counties have very little power as compared to the major corporations and federal government(s). We need a change that involves disempowering the current highly concentrated power centers and that makes power in our communities and nations and states more diffuse. What “-isms” we use to call such a change are not so important as that it happen. Personally, I prefer non-violent methods…not just because I like pacifism, because the results of a movement are also a product of the currents inside of a movement — a violent movement will codify violence into any change it brings about.

The framers of the US Constitution used what they called “checks and balances” to attempt to craft a functional government that would not trample the rights of the people. We have over 200 years of experience with this system. Sometimes it has served us well, and in some ways it has been undermined. The idea of “checks and balances” is valid — since power is going to be vested into a body, make sure there are counter-powers to ensure that the powers of that body do not become outsized. Perhaps the idea of “checks and balances” may be applied to areas in our societies/economies/polities to bring down concentrated power and craft systems where power is held more diffusely.

The odds are that the “we” will chose people just like themselves.
It has to be someone that are better than the “we”
Therefore, the odd of achieving meaningful changes are very low.

Across the country, 161,000 nursing home and other long-term care residents have died from Covid-19, an astonishing 36 percent of the total coronavirus deaths in the U.S.

And over 80% of the total deaths from Covid-19 are in the 65-and-over age group (latest CDC data as of 2/17/2021)

Good summary, in line what I think all along but clumsily express in my writing which may not be my forte.
I may only add that corporations in their early start are like contestants on the talent show before the Simon, all nice and docile until they gain the traction and become stars. That is when wild Harley rides through the lobbies and trashing of hotel rooms start. Big part of their growth includes line of non-ethical moves, and any criticism of it is labeled “socialist” or”commie” (thus the relentless use of those long gone terms, from my yesterday’s post).
Local regulating facility has no chance in offering incentives for their employees compared to golden package flaunted by the corporations, now swimming in cash, before their noses if they do the “right thing”. An idea that Marx is conductor of all of that, his long hair and beard wildly shaking before the orchestra described, I find not only insane but labels me as “soc-commie”.

A friend of a friend had Covid in December. Despite this he was recently vaccinated. He said it was like having Covid again, and the effects lasted two weeks.

What worries me about the mRNA vaccines like Pfizer is that they will simulate being infected by Covid for month after month no matter how many antibodies are produced.

Considering ‘long Covid’ seems to an over-stimulated immune system attacking the body I do wonder what the long term effects of these vaccines will be. Already in the UK hundreds of immune system problems have already been reported.

I have already refused a vaccinatiion but I am wondering what pressures will be brought to bear for me to relent. The UK government has said restrictions won’t be lifted until everyone over 60 is vaccinated : blackmail. I am retired so the ‘no jab, no job’ threat is not relevant.

I could be tempted by the Sputnik V vaccine as it seems to be the ‘least harmful’. Also the vaccine has been under development for at least ten years, not just cobbled together in a few months. It is a generic vaccine against all coronaviruses, being tailored to a specific threat.

Not in Australia, or at least not yet. The public mood here is almost euphoric as the wonderful vaccines have at last arrived to liberate us from our captivity. The mainstream media and mainstream medicine are all praise and optimism. Recently I heard two radio commentators excited at the prospect of the vaccine’s arrival. The view of the government is that the public are NOT guinea pigs.

All dissent is ignored. A few weeks ago the ABC ran a nasty article by a medical doctor implying that anyone who doubts is morally and ethically deficient.

    Und so weiter…

One concession: it’s not mandatory. Not yet. While I have any choice in the matter I will wait until the Phase 3 clinical trial period has ended, and then hope for honest reporting of the results.

If one looks at the power data during Texas’ cold snap it is easy to spot what failed first.
The wind turbines stopped and solar stopped. Green energy failed dropping to zero.
Then natual gas power generation shot up to replace the failed green power sources.
Overall power demand in Texas suddenly shot up.
Then the cold started taking out a few of the non-winterized fossil fuel power generators,
a nuclear power plant, and natural gas pipelines.
Green power was nowhere to be found. It went AWOL.

Nothing that happened in Texas comes even close to what happened in Quebec in the late 1990s.

The price that governments paid for vaccines is a closely guarded secret because the politicians don’t want you to know how much in kick-backs they are getting!

The more they paid for the vaccine, the larger the kick-back is.

    A salt water battery?

I read the brief article , rather short ordeals, and come away with the feeling that this isn’t a battery but rather a power generating scheme.

They imply the requirement for large continuious volumes of fresh water near a large body of salt water.

We tend to think of batteries as self contained units to store energy.

Needing to continuiously pump fresh water in, pump fresh water out, then pump in salt water, then pump salt water out, sure sounds like a system requiring a lot of energy to make it work, not a battery!
