A theatre nurse told me recently that in her experience masks should be changed every 20 minutes, otherwise they clog up from one’s breath and stop working. Also, NEVER touch the outside of the mask while wearing it.
That’s in the operating theatre, but I can’t see the 20-minute rule not applying elsewhere. We all breathe all the time, don’cha know.
So, 8 hours’ wearing @ new one every 20 minutes = 24 masks per day. See anybody doing that?
The mask manufacturers must really be enjoying the enhanced revenue stream.

Head start was a good program for my daughter, for example — no reason why it (or something comparable) couldn’t be funded on a local or state level.

Hope the swelling and soreness is subsiding. I think my broken ankle took about 3 weeks to subside. Slow is the operative word here. Hopefully the stainless hardware does not cause you any long term problems like what Bosco mentioned. Mine hasn’t.

Tonight, I finished the final butchering of a pig’s leg quarter and then popping the bones into the oven to cook. Then I did my best “caveman” knurling off any remaining meat. This seems to be what being a Dad is all about. Bones are beneath the rest of the family!
Being a Dad, I get to eat all the bread cust ends that no other family member will eat, while pretending they are my favorite pieces! Then eating all the remaining leftovers that everybody pretends no longer exist! Then there is the job of reducing 2 open ketchup bottles down to just one, so there is room in the fridge! That seems to be the defining meaning of what being a Dad really is.
Being a Dad, I get garbage detail too. Then I get to dispose of any caught mice. Then there are the cloughed toilets!
I am sure there is lots more to being a Dad, but these must be buried somewhere in the fine print!
oxy: when i was recovering from my arm plate surgery (thank you, taxpayers!), i was eating 4-5000 calories per day for about six weeks. i did not gain a kilo.
