How dare they do things? We must pass a law and stop this immediately! Someone might get hurt!

Official deaths = 3,203 There are 3,000 deaths by lightning a year. If this 3k holds, soon Corona will be as likely as getting hit by lightning. There’s only one response to that: call a pandemic!!! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lightning_strike

Okay, not to be a snark, with an R3,
    http://www.medrxiv.org › 10.1101 › 2020.02.13.20022251v1.full.pdf
Observable cases in Wuhan 12-27 Jan = doubling every 2 days. Cases at that time = ~ 78,000. Death rate = 3% Quarantine = zero, it is outside quarantine, on planes, and appearing worldwide. Number of days = 36 /2 = 18 doublings = 9,984,000 x 3% =

    299,000 dead by today.

THAT’S a pandemic. Instead, wiki shows cases from 2/23 to 3/3 have risen from 77,150 to 80,270. That’s a rise of 4%. Deaths barely budged. Habeus corpus: produce the dead bodies or shut up. I believe a lot of lies and covering, but you can’t hide 299,000 dead bodies worldwide without a lot more media fiction than we’ve seen. We have a big zero. People in a nursing home in Italy and Washington died of influenza. Like every other year. The pandemic, whatever it was, has stopped and is now the seasonal flu.

(Sorry if I missed a trick here, but my scientific calc is in the other room, the assumptions are all wildly margin-of-error, and I don’t care except to make a point: it took 60 days to take out 500 million people, but in the next 30 it didn’t take out 1,000? Explain. My theory is it was all the whining and screaming “we all gonna die” in the West that sacred it off.)

    Then there’s this:
    Ageism
    https://ichef.bbci.co.uk/news/624/cpsprodpb/F197/production/_111074816_death_ratio-nc.png

…most patients have only mild symptoms and the death rate appears to be between 2% and 5%, the WHO said.
By comparison, seasonal flu has an average mortality rate of about 0.1%, but is highly infectious – with up to 400,000 people dying from it each year.”

Or by their own numbers, near 0.1% (the flu) if you’re under 50.

Real story: whatever this was, the world factories in China are offline and may not even start for 3-6 months. Hey, maybe we should force manufacturing back to America, secure the borders, put on tariffs or something? Nah, the #Opposite. And the screaming, oh the screaming. Always the whining and screaming.

For Biden, I can’t even. It’s embarrassing in more ways that I can define, even personally embarrassing. But what’s with environmentalists rushing the stage to stop milk (again)? Their goal is to make all cows on earth extinct, and they won’t stop ‘til they’re dead. Because that’s #Love and care for animals!

Guys, try to be more productive and think things through a little, will you? The way to #SavetheCows isn’t to kill them for all eternity. But I’ll donate one to you if you want to adopt. And #ItTakesaHerd so you’ll actually have to adopt a family, maybe +5 cows at 2,000lbs each for 10,000lbs total, plus their 800lb children, then take them on yearly road trips to other cow friends so they don’t inbreed. But not to fear! I’m sure with love and fe-fe’s it will all work out. We’ll set them free in Central Park and let them walk down Columbus Avenue to Riverside. It’s only natural.

Similarly, no idea what Erogan is doing. Double-crossing everyone? That’s indeed tricky but it doesn’t work out so well in the long run.

Speaking as a disinterested lizard person, I’d say that a disease that kills off old people is useful for the current human condition.

    ***

One principle that tends to get buried again and again is that this isn’t either/or. We’re not swapping out x deaths/difficult recoveries from coronavirus for x-etc. from flu or whatever for x deaths from coronavirus. We’re ADDING. It doesn’t matter if the flu/traffic kills x a year. We’re ADDING to that skull pile, straining healthcare services/human frailty that much more.

Not to mention what Twain said: “There are lies, damn lies, and then there are statistics.”

    ***

I see that it is now officially time to panic. How do I know? Major media platforms are now swarming with slogans like ‘Stay Calm and Wash Your Hands’. Which is good advice but means “Freak out!!!!” becuz the government has officially acknowledged the reality of kung flu.

    ***

Meanwhile: “Therefore, he ordered her to be deposed.” “She has never been deposed under oath on this,” he continued. “She was interrogated, but not under oath, in a secret interrogation by the FBI three days before they exonerated her.” Additionally, he noted, this deposition will also be videotaped. “She can’t plead the fifth, right?” asked host Ainsley Earhardt. “She can’t plead the fifth because the statute of limitations to prosecute her for failure to safeguard state secrets has come and gone. She can’t be prosecuted for that,” he replied. “She could be prosecuted if she lies under oath in this deposition. She is represented in the deposition by lawyers form the Justice Department.” “The same Justice Department that would prosecute her if she lies under oath,” he added.”

    “… 299,000 dead by today.”

Not that hard, maybe, when you turn entire cities into concentration camps.

For example: “By comparison, seasonal flu has an average mortality rate of about 0.1%, but is highly infectious – with up to 400,000 people dying from it each year.” Usa has probably about 30-40K of those yearly casualties. Does anyone here know anyone who’s died of the flu?

Facts don’t have to be hidden so much as obscured. Media can blather on about so much nonsense that 300K deaths in a few months wouldn’t be noticed. USA citizens have been thoroughly hidden from their own history by a large education system. It’s easy, apparently. Few people will ever declare the emperor’s nudity. They’ve seen what happens to freaks (like us) who dare proclaim such unofficial truth.

So yeah, I think a 300K death count is very feasible.

    Bernie Sanders
Is socialism a dirty word when its tied to corporate?
There is no way that we can list all the money being printed and being given to the connected elites.
It is easier and faster to count the underpaid workers, the number of poor, the refugees, and all the homeless that will receive all of that new money being generated by the virus.
    Yep! Zero.
Most of it goes for the the legal graft system. Ask Biden how it was legally done.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henry_Ford
Henry Ford was a pioneer of “welfare capitalism”
Ford announced his $5-per-day program on January 5, 1914, raising the minimum daily pay from $2.34 to $5 for qualifying male workers. Ford’s policy proved, however, that paying people more would enable Ford workers to afford the cars they were producing and be good for the local economy. He viewed the increased wages as profit-sharing linked with rewarding those who were most productive and of good character.

There was never a popular time to be socialist but Sanders never budged.
Without Sanders to push for more social justice, there will be unchecked expanding capitalist welfare.

the Bank of Canada “pulled a Fed”
    https://www.zerohedge.com/markets/canada-shock-and-awe-boc-unexpectedly-cuts-50bps-most-crisis-ready-adjust-further

With Wall Street consensus expecting nothing from the Bank of Canada today, and even money markets were at beast hoping for a modest easing, moments ago the Bank of Canada “pulled a Fed” when it shocked traders after cutting rates by an unexpected 50bps, from 1.75% to 1.25% (with expectations for an unchanged print), citing the COVID-19 virus as “a material negative shock to the Canadian and global outlooks,” and as a result “monetary and fiscal authorities are responding.”

The 50bps rate cut was the biggest since the financial crisis….. the Bank will continue to ensure that the Canadian financial system has sufficient liquidity.

The Trump White House faced widespread criticism on Tuesday after Vice President Mike Pence conducted a press briefing on the coronavirus outbreak, but members of the media were not allowed to record video or audio. Critics suggested the Trump administration is more concerned with managing the optics of the outbreak, rather than the outbreak itself.

Turley…[..] “Authenticity is a word rarely applied to Trump, but it remains his greatest selling point outside Washington. More importantly, he does not try to pretend what he is not: honest or moral.”

    Unfucking believable!!

Trump’s Real Base Is the Ruling Class

“What set the largely petit-bourgeois Trump supporters apart, Smith and Hanley showed, was their shared allegiance to eight core values and identities: identification as “conservative”; support for “domineering leaders”; Christian fundamentalism; prejudice against immigrants; prejudice against blacks; prejudice against Muslims; prejudice against women; and a sense of pessimism about the economy….the real winners under Trump have been the economic elite.”

    — consistent with Bannon’s call for the “deconstruction of the administrative state” — the real winners under Trump have been the economic elite. These are the leading beneficiaries of Trump’s effort to introduce what leftist economist Jack Rasmus calls “a more virulent form of neoliberalism,” replete with a pronounced assault on democracy and a drift toward tyranny. Journalist Thomas Meaney notes that Trump as president has “fed the richest in society in the currency they prefer — dollars — and fed his fans lower down with a temporarily effective substitute — recognition.”

“So what if Trump is, in Chomsky’s words, “dedicated with fervor to destroying the prospects of organized human life on Earth in the not-distant future (along with millions of other species)”?”

The globalist strive for one world government and will not hesitate to use the coronavirus to ruthlessly implement their agenda. This would be the worst type of response! Big brother is not going to save you! He wants you to trade your freedom for false security where you end up with neither!

The best response to coronavirus is a local community response! Only locals know their community and the people living within it. They will respond in the practical and effective manner. Then you get to keep you freedom and security!

So it turns out that genetic sequencing shows that are two different strains of the virus after all, a more aggressive L-cov version as a less aggressive S-cov version. S-cov is the older version. L-cov became more prevalent during the Wuhan outbreak.

Yes, WES, that appears to be the case. Here is the abstract:

    https://academic.oup.com/nsr/advance-article/doi/10.1093/nsr/nwaa036/5775463

Population genetic analyses of 103 SARS-CoV-2 genomes indicated that these viruses evolved into two major types (designated L and S), that are well defined by two different SNPs that show nearly complete linkage across the viral strains sequenced to date. Although the L type (∼70%) is more prevalent than the S type (∼30%), the S type was found to be the ancestral version. Whereas the L type was more prevalent in the early stages of the outbreak in Wuhan, the frequency of the L type decreased after early January 2020. Human intervention may have placed more severe selective pressure on the L type, which might be more aggressive and spread more quickly. On the other hand, the S type, which is evolutionarily older and less aggressive, might have increased in relative frequency due to relatively weaker selective pressure.

Yesterday Anthony Fauci to calm nerves and to walk besides Donald Trump told NBC News that 80% of the coronavirus infections will be mild. Today the flip side was pointed out. The 20% needing hospital care will swamp the American for-profit healthcare system just like Wuhan or Iran were. Heat, an effective public health system and perhaps the milder mutant are why Singapore outbreak hasn’t exploded yet. A less lethal more contagious coronavirus variant may explain South Korea’s results. Yesterday, Dr. John Campbell said the UK expects an 80% infection rate and that the government must do everything possible to lower and extend the outbreak so the hospitals can be cleared out of seasonal flu patients – opening beds this summer for coronavirus patients.

What happens next on the American West Coast and Westchester NY in the next two weeks will tell if the US federal and state governments can dampen the outbreaks or not. We will see if the 8.3-billion-dollar legislation is intended to aid the Rich in getting through the looming economic depression like in 2008 or to save American lives. Do the Elite realize the danger they are in or is it everybody for themselves? No hazmat suits for First Responders, Utility Workers and Healthcare providers, no infection tracing, thousand-dollar bills for a virus testing, and no sheltering in place in hot spots will all mean that American society is on the path to disintegration.

Boogaloo:. Thanks for the reference article. I read the PDF.

Boy, I sure had to read the last two sentences of the abstract a few times to make heads or tails of it!

The Chinese authors talk in rather vague terms about human interventions playing a role in the selective prevalence of the “S” and “L” types. This means they were not at liberty to say exactly what human intervention.

Sounds like we humans, despite good intentions, somehow just made matters worst!

I am just guessing having 5 million people from Wuhan travel for lunar New Year was the perfect storm to spread the “L” type.

I did see a world map showing the travel destinations for 60,000 Wuhan travellers. They went to all corners of the world! The rest is history in the making.i

VietnamVet:. I have read that the normal flu builds up in the fall, peaks in winter, then declines in spring.

The thinking is the rising sun angles increases the UVL which helps to kill viruses. The warmer weather brings people outdoors more increasing the vitamin D in their skin from the increased UVL exposure.

Also higher moisture in the warmer summer air helps the mucus in our noses do a better job of filtering the air, compared to the dryer winter air.

I don’t know if warmer temperatures hurt viruses or not.

I am guessing the authorities are hoping to delay the spread of coronavirus until spring arrives.

Who gets it? There have to be similarities (oldsters, immunocompromised, infirm) that we think we know of, but the only one they seem to be sharing that merits extreme curiosity is that pre-adolescents seem to be immune[?].
So many people have taken genetic tests- don’t tell me the fancy-folk aren’t looking at the info.
I watched a hearing today on cspan- the only really pertinent question was “how are you going to ensure the uncompensated won’t work when they are ill?” Does any of the $8+ billion deal with that?
What are the commonalities of the victims? We can do this now. We can say “you are the ones who go to the store and drop it off at the house of the stricken”; “you should stay out of the public spaces.”

What I meant was that more local is better, but how can it just be local? How can it not be at the state level or higher?
We had a good medical staff meeting at the clinic, but we are all awaiting orders from higher bureaucracies. I’m not in on those meetings. There are clearly big changes we need to streamline for a whole lot of screenings from car to screen to car and home to await results and advice, and we need something like a portable food kiosk with all surfaces easy to scrub down frequently, daily or better. We need to be able to manage people at home, not just by phone, with a kit they can use, but with home visits. I volunteered weeks ago. We’ll see…

If it’s me: no, since everything you hear, read or see is a lie meant to rob you and steal your freedom, the world is a very simple and obvious place. I’m not scared. They’re lying idiots.

That said, although my theory now fits all the facts, there is still something wrong with it and it isn’t true in an important way. What, I can’t yet tell.

Misinformation worldwide. Claiming masks don’t work. If they don’t work, why do doctors use them? Yes, they work for 4h if used properly, but they’re still better than NO mask, not only for yourself but protect others if you have it. The point is every level of reduction in “viral load” matters, but is essentially unmeasurable. The world instead polarizes into two all-or-nothing camps shouting at each other. Hide and stab yourself, or walk around in denial and contaminate everything. Sheesh. Wear a bandana if you want, it will still help.

Same with wiping down surfaces. If it doesn’t help, why do they wipe down restaurant tables, to spread the dirt around? Of course not, it’s bleach and/or other water, and it DOES help, but it’s not an operating room either. How much effort vs risk in diminishing returns? You’re a grown -ss adult: it’s up to you.

This has been long ‘planned’, as I’ve said and you can read the papers. 10 years ago alt-people were already pointing out that the weirdo bent-for-leather global initiatives were all for pandemics: 12 mega-cities, health initiatives, end to vitamins and herbals, but most notably Amazon, the nation’s company store, which tracks what books you read and things you buy, but more, has robotic workforce from the factory to the doorstep, with these idiotic megadrone army that makes no economic, energetic, or engineering sense. Walmort, moving to robotic stockers, self-checkout, and delivery/door pickup. Uber, chomping eat-a-bug desperate not only for delivery, etc but self-driving cars. From Tesla, who has killed more people than Chuck Manson with their idiotic belief in technology I can disable with a loogie. At least it was voluntary immolation for their Green god.

What do each of these things (and 1,000 more) tell you, and the speed and alarm Ford and GM were pushing them? Pandemic, meant to control the masses. Especially here since we’re armed, as quarantine creates cover to kill the resisters, as just happened in about-to-protest Wuhan, Italy, France, and Iran. But I am a coincidence theorist and this is all a big accident. That they wrote down. In increasing detail. For 45 years.

Pretty sure they’re going to fail though. Because they are neanderthal-browed, mouth-breathing schmarty-pants who pray to a god whose ethos is “Can’t think straight.” So it goes on, the parasite and the host, for the next 1,000 years. Unfortunately, since people can’t seem to believe there is evil anymore and do any duty as men and citizens, they fall for it like children and are devoured.

I guess the point here is that rich people thought they were going to spark a pandemic, then sit at home in their gated community and order Amazon online while robots worked the fields and factories, and they worked from home on Twitter trading Dow 100,000.

Nonsense, since the first janitor would just break in and hit you with a mop, but that’s how dumb they are: dumber than the dumbest hick in Kentucky.

My real thought: “The lie is different at every level.” The Trillionaires have ACTUAL compounds with ACTUAL armies that CAN be gated as they control counties in Switzerland. They laughed at the credible billionaires in Miami who believed they would do that too, and laugh as the tiny, insignificant single-billionaires and millionaires help them kill everyone, cleanse the world of us annoying human vermin, and so die themselves. They think they’re Very Important People™, part of the In Club™, when really they’re being used and discarded like everybody else. If they didn’t notice from the #AntiReligion they avowed to and the pile of victims behind them all.
