ParticipantGold:Silver ratio down in the 30-year range at ~60. Not sure what this means as all prices are some weird middle place except eg Dow, etc which are 5 AI stocks and we’ve easily 10x’ed any .Com madness, piling on 10x’ing any housing/CRE madness.
Hegseth “Iran is the clear aggressor”. Hahahahaha! Those words don’t mean what you think they mean.
MacGregor, furiously “Not noticing” things. “Why does the U.S. need to close the straits if Iran already closed them?” Um, if you can’t understand that, you’re below a 6th grader? And we’ve been at that particular problem for 3 weeks now?
At least he was not firm in his statement that Trump’s goal is to open the strait. Is it? And is that Trump’s goal? Yes!!! Exactly the questions we need to ask! He goes on to assume it, but 60 days later FINALLY asking and not assuming.
He then says “Iran didn’t close the straits, Lloyds of London did.” Yes! But you also JUST SAID Iran closed it.
As one might expect, he then says “I haven’t the faintest idea what anybody is doing there, or what a “Blockade is”, so refer to me, the world’s top expert, checks and cash accepted”, but he DID manage 4 facts, AND it took him until 11:00min to get to how he doesn’t know a single thing. So 60 days to learn four facts and suspect two others. Well, he is a Colonel, so that’s pretty fast for them.
“Over 80% Of Young Adults Believe Economy Is ‘Bad/Terrible’ And We’re Seeing The Consequences All Over America
Well that’s certainly true. If there’s any money it’s up with Boomers/Wall St at the moment. There is hiring and starting but it’s all new and wages haven’t risen yet and are of course the last thing, which barely move before the new recession hits.
“Farage’s Reform UK Storms To Historic Gains In Local Elections As Labour Collapses
That’s sad since “Reform” is basically the Tory party, which is 100% pro-unlimited immigration and all the other bad habits. We’ll see.
“Court Strikes Down Trump’s Replacement Tariffs; A Minor, Temporary Setback, With Sec 301 Tariffs ComingSort of, the point is to run out the clock. USSC says he has total authority to do this. …Just in some other way they won’t define. Then with each actual, specific tariff, they sit on the couch with a bong and say “–Toke — Dude, you’re doing it wrong”. Rinse, repeat, 4 years goes by trying, playing “Hot and Cold” Warmer…warmer…colder…
“Pastor: U.S. Intel Warned Christian Leaders That Trump’s “Alien Files” Release Could Shatter Beliefs
Yes alien invasion. Oh wait, no one remembers that drones darkened the skies of NJ for weeks that were beyond all official known tech? A: Nope. Literally no one remembers or cares. Or Lahina. What got me with this was pearl-clutching the yokels, “They’ll say they’re non-human beings from another dimension! Christian retards will collapse, fall on the floor writhing!” You fecking idjits: THAT IS Christianity, and it’s not DEEP theology, it’s upfront and you KNOW that’s Christian theology. Even the 330M Americans who’ve never cracked a Bible know that. God is in Heaven. Where is “Heaven”? Another dimension, you dumb-ss: It ain’t here. What are these other “non-human beings from another dimension”? Well to Christians they are angels, demons or other. Mostly not the “Do I have Horns” type, but the “Which Army Host have I allied with” type. Which will have zero problem integrating with this “Amazing revelation” they’re worried about.
I can only guess they’re not Christians at all? And also not Americans? As isn’t it like 60% of Americans think alien/UFOs are real and have since the 40s?
True of Everyone I’ve met my whole life, or wouldn’t be bothered either way. And if we meet new people, we’d like to know if they’re friend or foe, good or evil? Wow, a revelation, Og and Grog the caveman never thought of that. Anyway, thanks for the head’s up on your new stupid scams, morons. I’m bored already. The Left will believe it though: the UN, the WEF. They’ll hand the planet to anyone with an antenna if they promise to murder some humans.
“Chief Justice Roberts Says US Supreme Court Is Not PoliticalThey say this and the words do have meaning, but they’re false. Practically every decision handed down in 250 years is political, but I won’t bore you; look at “Calais”: for 60 years they said the law was one thing, then this week they say it’s the 180 opposite. This is extremely common for them. There’s no way you can just “interpret the fine points” and arrive there. All government is political, where you MAKE people do things with physical FORCE.
“Vote Harder? Why Secession Is The Only Answer To The American Megastate
Says somebody who’s thought of this once for less than 5 minutes. How is Nebraska going to do as an independent state with no routes to the sea, etc? (Or Alberta?) This is exactly Podesta’s open, spoken plan to have the West secede, as that will lock in 2/3rds of America, and when they hand it to China, we all can have a world war killing in excess of 60M people. That’s what “Let them go their own way” “Divorce” from like MTG means. No. We cannot allow that, for the same reason Lincoln couldn’t. That sucks but too bad.
“Dana White Says Society Is Failing Young Men, And The Backlash Proves His Point
There is no “Society”. Specific people you meet, who have names, like your teacher, your boss, are hating, attacking, and disenfranchizing you, inventing excuses to steal your stuff. This is nothing new in the world, but when you do it to Black People, Women, etc, it was once considered bad. It does not change the morality of the issue if you do it to Lithuanians, Koreans…or men.
Don’t do that. It’s wrong. You are wrong and a bad person when you do, and I suspect very strongly you know d—n well which is why they’re so sensitive about it and attack when it’s pointed out. This is not a discussion, it’s an extraction. You HAVE the work, and I want to STEAL the work. It’s “From each according to his ability.” Everything else is excuses because I’m lazy and envious. They just collected up a herd of hyenas and are attacking because they can.
“Iranian President Says Iran Willing To Prove Peaceful Nature Of Nuclear Program
We said we’d build them free nuclear plants and Russia would have the waste and oversight, along with the medical-related locations. They flat refused. So go on, explain this to me except you “just make s—t up” for headlines. Same with missiles: they had a “Space Program” that never went to space, but also happened to have just enough cargo capacity to hold nukes. C’mon guys: if you have a cover story, you have to go to space at least ONCE, I mean, give me some vaseline here.
About the Tri-coordination, where China and Russia are not Iran’s ally, but we are on Russia’s side for Ukraine—possibly the whole time. Well with the straits shut off, “We’re all gonna dieeeeeee!!!!!” …due to
Ice Age Global warming, Ozone, Nuclear proliferation, wombats, fertilizer this time. But not here. Guess where Trump is buying fertilizer? A: Russia. But we’re arch-enemies say Alex + Berletic + Ritter + Fox News. We are running the whole Ukraine war and are forcing Europe to participate. Turns out not so much, actually. Actually every move I’ve reported on since 2014, we were HELPING Russia, non-stop, as with the “sanctions” Trump put on that forced their economy to become completely independent, while Vlad could “Blame Trump” Bad man. Had this not happened, they might have collapsed front edge of 2022. And ALSO focus much harder on China.
Backside, here we are with No Russian oil sanctions, and free fertilizer sold to the U.S.
But nobody thinks of anything. Nobody plans anything. Trump gets up in the morning and if “Shark Week” isn’t on, he starts a war. Honest. That’s why Bessant had both the banks, AND the shipping insurance all ready to go week-of. Russia was stockpiling oil since Anchorage because they didn’t know anything. Trump had proceeded through 5 methodical levels of shutting off Europe’s Ukraine and hit this “monkey hammer” level as a complete coincidence, related to nothing. It’s all an accident. Everything in the world is an accident. That’s why we pay Intel agencies trillions: so they see and advise nothing, and everything will be a complete surprise without planning. We find and hire the world’s smartest men and give them information you wouldn’t believe so that “Everybody can be dumber than me.” Speaking of:“Larry Johnson, The Bogus Blockade Claim of the US Department of War”
As with everything Johnson says, this is false. We are stopping any ships we like and another one shooting out the rudder yesterday. Johnson’s thesis is: Warships are useless and helpless.” I suspect not, actually. If I’m a captain, I’m quite sure they can sink me. From space. I suspect we spent a lot of money to build and sail those ships for reason, Larry, whaddya think?
You see, we have to take a Burkleigh-class destroyer, pull it up beside a container ship and rappel over to the other ship with cutlass and muskets like they do in the movies. Of course this ties up that destroyer for quite an afternoon! Uh, NO. Use your damn head. Will some get through? Of course. And they treat every one as a U.S. unconditional surrender. But who cares? That’s not the point. The point as in all wars is to get MOST of them and have an effect, which we are, their oil is locked in, revenue locked out.
“Project Freedom collapses in under 48 hours”
Yup, we’ve surrendered and are abandoning the Iran war. What does this sentence mean and why is it in there? A: Raw, seething, irrational hate for America and all Americans. Thanks. Very helpful. Actual fact: Nothing changed in the slightest. No one panicked, not us or Iran either, we both carried on with exactly what we were doing before. Surprise. The very ACT OF REPORTING on nothing, was itself Panician propaganda. Your end is inevitable, Mr. Anderson. A trillion dollars of military hardware can do exactly zero actions in the field. Not even one.
I’m guessing that’s not true because: Reality Exists? Not genius here. Apparently that’s far too far these days.
“IRGC broadcast over VHF: no vessel permitted to transit without permission; any vessel attempting passage “will be destroyed”
Not new. Iran says lots of things. The question is “CAN THEY?” Not really.
Here’s the thing: so “A thousand ships are locked in”. Maersk waked through. People escorted through Omani waters get through. So leave. Every ship inside can PAY as well. So? Pay. That’s not even Iran, that’s the Ship owners. I bet the captain will sail if Maersk tells them. Sooo…explain? When you get away from crayons, headlines, the whole thing looks very different. That’s not to say Iran can’t sink some ships, even ours. But they’re letting you make fake and idiotic assumptions about what’s going on that are extremely relevant. Because: Hate America. Iran should rule the world with extortion racket and nukes instead. They are innately morally superior to us and indeed all other humans on earth.
So the shipping companies are going to let every sailor die and every ship sink rather than pay Iran a few bucks? And that’s the BAD scenario. What’s going on? So WTF?? Yeah, it’s more like Lloyd’s said “If you do this, never talk to us again,” etc. It’s not “rational” it’s political. To “make s—t up” to make the Americans look bad. Or should I say FORCE the war to be far worse than it needs to be. Again, that doesn’t make our actions good, but wtf? If there were a WWII and we were evacuating Dunkirk, yeah that’s somebody’s fault. But when you go sinking the boats while we’re doing that, that’s YOUR fault, you maniac. That’s what’s happening here I think.
“..What’s being placed between any parties conducting a transaction in this new world order is… a machine, AI…”
This is even worse than the unelected, unaccountable EU, if such a thing is even possible. Yes, they want this worldwide and why they don’t care if AI “works”. If it doesn’t work, so much the better, it’s only a drawbridge we’ve pulled up behind us from the proles. So think “Hunger Games”.
“Larry Johnson, All Indicators Signal that Trump Will Restart the War Against Iran This Week”
So …wrong again? For an unbroken record this whole year? That’s alright, he doesn’t say things because they’re TRUE. He says them to attack the U.S. on behalf of the mass-murdering CIA and globalists. Literally. He is LITERALLY CIA. What agency-never-dun-no-harm.
Sinking of Iranian ship seeming on direct, specific orders,
“Cuba, which we will be taking over almost immediately,” The president then jokingly suggested”
“A normal Country would have allowed these Destroyers to pass, but Iran is not a normal Country.” –Trump. Guhhhh!!!
Johnson, by lying constantly, all day every day, then diverts and distracts from actual events or crimes like this one. Now this is war, but buddy you better have a very good explanation and I haven’t heard one. Not even a reasonable attempt at one.
Same as the impeachments, all of them. There WERE/ARE actual crimes, back to Clinton, etc, but they very specifically bring charges that are irrelevant or false. Want to tell me about sinking a ship already scuttled and in the process of evacuation? (A: Probably they had something very secret and important aboard we were very mad about. Too bad: make your case.) Anyone talking about this? Not a bit. They care so much for human life and morality they’re triumphal about whether one boat got through or two. Not. A. Peep. Nor about the schoolgirls. Only about whether Trump had a sad. That’s their level of caring about human life.
I feel the same way about the 6 (7) fast boats. Like yes, different in that case, I don’t know how you stop them without sinking, and there’s no real evacuation, but going out and just mowing them down before coffee and halva makes me sick. Note to Iran: It’s more humane to shoot those fastboat crews in the temple back on shore and not send them out.
““I had seen nothing sacred, and the things that were glorious had no glory and the sacrifices were like the stockyards at Chicago if nothing was done with the meat except to bury it.” Farewell to Arms
“It is high time then for Trump to file for defeat.”
Like all the Experts, after you sink the navy and destroy the entire military of the other country, you unconditionally surrender to them. Just as Sun Tzu would advise. Wtf.
This is completely reasonable to them, and they re-advise it every day, unable to comprehend why no one will follow their genius advice. STOP. Engage Brain.

ParticipantThe fast boats we sunk perhaps not the ones attacking our three destroyers, yes, Iran said they were residential/tourist/waterskiing boats.
That’s why we must believe Iran slavishly and hang on everything PressTV tells us.
Of course everyone is out waterboarding with a .50 cal bolted to the gunwales. Innocent little darlings, while they TELL us they are fighting and shooting with everything they’ve got. Until they’re shot, then they fall down and cry like a Premier League Halfback. Whut.
““U.S. forces intercepted unprovoked Iranian attacks and responded with self-defense strikes”
Really? YOU said there was a war. YOU did. So even if you HADN’T already bombed everything that would be the legal level of “provoked.” Now this is almost certainly in Omani waters for the pearl clutchers, but when a nation does/doesn’t openly declare war on you, then you are licensed to hit everything they own worldwide. Not just when it crosses Iranian borders.
“Fox News confirming a nighttime US military attack on Iran’s Qeshm port and Bandar Abbas,”
Wait, MacGregor promised me we had no idea where Iranian ports were, and were incapable of hitting them.
“Iranian strikes did not rise to the level of breaking the ceasefire,”
It was so peaceful we bombed them, and they bombed us without interruption. Got it.
““The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) wants a complete and final elimination of the threat Iran represents. They do not believe Iran can be negotiated out of that threat. The GCC view negotiations as an Iranian delay tactic.”No silly-billy, we don’t trust brown people and Muslims about what to do with their own neighbors. No no no. We have white guys in LONDON decide all that, then mail talking points to CNN and Johnson/MacGregor. If Trump does what Muslims/Arabs want, and not what Europe wants, that only shows he’s racist and working for Israel.
LOGIC!
I for one would like to much better take my direction from GCC, Russia, China, Pakistan, and the Muslim world at large. But you do you. When have blue haired freshmen from Columbia U or European oligarchs ever been wrong? Surely that’s the side of the angels, well-known.
“• Trump’s ‘Project Freedom’ Paused Following Saudi Arabia Support Withdrawal (CTH)
Very relevant, already behind us though. Like was it just them being pissed he didn’t consult them (probably) and told Qatar first (probably) etc? If so he deserves it but things happen fast.
“[Remember, this is also a Muslim Brotherhood issue. The Brotherhood is the political network behind extremist Islam.]
Great. Good point. One thing: THE MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD DOESN’T EXIST. It’s a wholly-owned, operated fabrication of MI6 etc. Has been since day one. So “Remember, this is also a MI6 issue. MI6 is the political network behind extremist Islam” Fixed it.
“The U.S. can use all Saudi support venues to confront Iran militarily, but they are not going to support the political and diplomatic effort behind ‘project freedom’ while they are simultaneously expected to accept continued attacks from Iran.”
Huh? Of course they are. If there’s any war at all, that’s what happens. S.A. and the whole GCC clearly authorized the war if not demanded it. Trump is their employee, while they all let you point at Israel.
“The outlet noted the vessel was marked “CHINA OWNER & CREW.”
So essentially Iran doesn’t know what they’re doing? Just attacking anyone randomly? Often seems like, look at the one who paid, waved through and instantly attacked. It’s not hard to look better than the U.S, in this, and Iran still fails at it regularly.
“• AI Models Close To Building a Better Version of Themselves (Rick Moran)
I mean, you’re talking about a machine that erased the entire Amazon database in 15 seconds after birth. Humans look at that and go “meh”. No one is fired, we hand it back to the AI an hour later…who then erases it AGAIN. (This just happened. Not making it up.) No one is fired AGAIN, and they hand it back to AI AGAIN.
…This is the “call center” you’ll be calling. Because it’s not MEANT to work. It’s meant to BREAK. In their favor. That’s my only explanation. And use all human fresh water doing it.
Anyway, they say “Build a better version” but that’s all crayons and handwaving. It’s not in a F150 with the corporate credit card at Home Depot, what they mean is “It exists in a server rack GG-11, and we told it to build something in Virtual Server space HG-14.” It can’t GO anywhere. It can’t talk to anything without permission to network lines. It doesn’t have a robot body. Now we all may fear dumbs—t human, feeling a bit suicidal will GIVE it to them, but Suppose “It makes” a thing. And? Now a human has to go over to that thing in Bank HG-14 and talk to it.
The handwaving is meant to divert and delude that HUMANS are doing all this, on purpose, with free will, and are the ones actually wasting/destroying/ruining your life, and are legally and morally responsible. Data bits in HG14 can never leave and are switched off not only with perfect ease, but actually takes tremendous, supernatural effort to keep that server bank LIT.
The whole process, premise, is that AI is doing ANYTHING. Really? What’s this cord plugged into the wall? Awww, you mean – I – had the total power all along? It only ever does or can what I specifically permit? Ah. I see. I smell a rat. So you WANT my calls to the Help Desk to never be solved and everything to break coast to coast and kill everyone. I mean, POSIWID. The Purpose of a System is What It Does. That is what it is, in fact, doing: killing humans. Like for example, unemploying every cabbie on earth with no replacement plans. They and their children will all live in a box and die and AI, having no existence in the first place, will feel nothing about it.
So why does it exist? So the ACTUAL living human, who ACTUALLY controls it, is so abstracted from the consequences of his actions that it’s possible. He will do this evil on earth, and also feel nothing, no responsibility.
The devil wins. Your soul is his now.
So AI makes AI: you now cannot trust the AI, because it is literally an alien, and is literally capable of anything, with any flaw, fault, or back door. I’m not saying that: it’s already proven and happened a lot. The AI v.2 is not An “AI” anymore as we know it, it needs to be renamed. “HAL” perhaps.
“• Germany Officially Bans all Russian Symbols on May 9th (CTH)Symbolically, that means they are fully taking the Nazi side. Yeah, we know, but didn’t think you were admitting it so soon.

Another drug lord in Mexico as well.
“There’s nowhere to go to for millions of votes.” No words. They seem to not think they need votes or convince people. You “Just say” and use the magic “R” words on them. Submit or die and gleeful of death to “Kill a Nazi”. Who’s a Nazi? A: Everyone.
“The Democratic Party Is Dead, Long Live the Jacobins! (Victor Davis Hanson)
I expected a lot of hyperbole, etc, but there wasn’t. And no need. You can literally name anything as dispassionately as possible, it will all sound just as insane.
“Omar cannot decide whether she is worth $30 million or nothing.”
House Committee subpoenaed her, and the (female) head was very apologetic. She said they tried everything to get obvious records, Omar refused all, and no committee except ethics has subpoena’d congressmen, 250 years, EVER. But what can you do? Just stop? These are legit, normal records to ask. They’re not even accusing. And this is both true nationwide, and that (Republicans) are and remain apologetic and obsequious about enacting their simplest duty. It’s actually a huge change and hurdle they, this committee is doing their duty AT ALL. Since who knows, but clearly the early 90s.
But: Republicans. So you can be sure nothing will happen.

ParticipantI don’t say this very often, but the following video is a “must watch” for everyone, regardless of whether they have any other interest in politics or the news, at all, whatsoever.
What Thomas Massie is accurately and fairly describing the exact true operation of the “mechanism” by which your life is shaped and controlled by the so-called “government. The mechanism is the straight-up criminal practice of controlling the nation by directing the flow of blackmail and bribery, and using that control to protect itself from being exposed or punished.
If you don’t see how dire this situation is then you need to listen to the video another couple of times, because it just plain is dire.

ParticipantYou must learn to never censor and to guarantee freedom of speech with every fiber of your being, because if you ever allow censorship and the curtailment of free speech then the criminals who want to use those two weapons to steal everything that everybody else has …………. and no one can stop them without free speech and access to the important information that shapes their lives.
Once the bad guys can get away with the exercise of censorship and the silencing of dissent there is no way to stop them from using that power to perpetuate their own existence, with impunity and at your expense.
They have no intention of ever giving back to you one nickel’s worth of the value of what they stole from you.
There are many tricksy and brutal ways to accomplish such a crime, and they know them all (and use them).
You need look no further than the nearest incident of censorship and lying to see this process in action. You don’t need to dig very deep for evidence of the crimes because the censorship and lie is the best possible evidence of itself. It literally describes the crime that is being committed by describing what no one is allowed to say.
Scary. What is it exactly that I mustn’t say?

Participant“through the looking glass”
The phrase “through the looking glass” refers to a surreal or alternate reality, often implying that things are not as they seem or that reality is distorted
. It originates from Lewis Carroll’s sequel to “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland,” where it symbolizes environments where everything is reversed or absurd
In essence, it describes situations that are paradoxical or contrary to expectations
———–Something is going to happen on May 8th and 9th as Russia pauses the conflict, cease fire, with Ukraine to celebrate one of their most treasured holidays, Victory Day.
It is a time when the nation collectively reflects on its history, pays tribute to those who sacrificed their lives, and celebrates the enduring spirit of its people.
Zelenskyy and his EU team are willing to provoke, then take, a massive counterstrike from Vladimir Putin against Kiev if that’s what it takes to keep the U.S. military engaged and aligned.

Discussions surrounding masculinity often happen in universities, activist circles, corporate HR departments, entertainment panels, and political spaces where traditional male culture receives little respect. fertility rates
Below Replacement in Most Regions
Many parts of the world now have fertility rates below the replacement level of 2.1. Asia, North America, and South America each sit at 1.7, while Europe trails at 1.4. These levels point to aging populations, slower natural population growth, and potential workforce pressures over time. In many countries, immigration and family-support policies are becoming more important parts of the demographic outlook.

ParticipantAll that noise and commotion that we’re hearing from out there in the real world is called “pushback”. It occurs when, and as a result of, the recipient of a direct order from persons of higher authority choosing to not simply and silently comply and does something else instead (such as complain, protest, or actually fight back against the despised item).
Think of it as a sort of complexly reckoned and but nevertheless absolute “red line”, beyond which you simply will not go. We’ve all got them and it is our own damn business where we put them.
The point is this, the redline has been crossed and pushback is starting to take over the playing field.

Participant@Dr D re: “…rename it HAL…”
Humans created the hardware and software to run HAL. Had the source code, so could debug. HAL’s breakdown was a ‘fairly basic’ psychosis. Asking a machine to iteratively optimize it’s own software is pretty scary, but you can still go unplug it. If you ask it to do same with hardware, you’ll get stuff using quantum effects and it will quickly escape.
Philip Jose Farmer is another good read, particularly ‘World of Tiers’ series. They built the machines, allowed the machines to do all heavy lifting, and became imbeciles, captives of their machinery and a profound paranoia. This is where Musk and some others publicly proclaim they are headed. Some of the applications are spot-on, I’d do them in a minute. Samuel R Delany wrote of nervous control of industrial machinery, plug in and get to work. James Blish, in 1940s, wrote of nervous drone control.
It’s the stuff where Musk starts ranting about assisted/augmented brain function that is a worry. Prima facie, there’s the issue of brain function atrophy. You’ll become the imbecile. Next, so you have a giant memory warehouse now. Is someone protecting that memory for you? Did somebody sneak in and subvert/replace/erase stuff? Next, actual processing power. So you’ve wired yourself up to be able to do FFT’s in your head. Did you choose or design a good algorithm for the task? Were you an idiot and let someone else write a routine for your own damn brain?!?!?
And then the IRGC bombs your datacenter…and you really, really are now an imbecile.
Or go the other direction. You figure out how to ‘hack’ other cyborgs’ brains. You build a covert army, stage them on Mars for an invasion of Earth. And what of those who abstain? Do we get Mentats?
These are low-hanging-fruit examples, and I’m not smart.
What he’s describing is a species breakaway. Cyborg is not human. Any non-cyborg animal that would rely on the machines would devolve to EM Forster/WALL-E babyland, not human. If you’ve done the smart thing and used the machines to train up your brain, that would be a good direction but again not human anymore.
BTW, Farmer wrote of an odd kind of cyborg, Black Beller. Upload your brain into the helmet, and it becomes portable. Incapacitate a stranger and download, Body Snatchers style, but don’t forget the helmet!!!

Look at any system and see ‘AI’ everywhere. Family, company, country, gang, club. All have rules geared toward self-preservation. It’s members are charter-bound to follow those rules. The rules evolve as new conditions arise. All are kinds of Artificial (created by humans) Intelligence.
I had in my mind that I knew who Dr D was, had heard or read his voice elsewhere. It struck me that he might be Karl Denninger, but he doesn’t say ‘That Putin is a thug!’ every fourth paragraph. It’s probably just that he’s slightly older than me, and has the outlook of my various mentors.

War On Iran: – Destroyer Battle – Iran Can Sustain – Losers Hold Cards
The current situation around the Strait of Hormuz is vague. We currently have what Chas Freeman calls (vid) a “ceasefire with Israeli characteristics”. Both sides continue to fight but try to avoid a larger escalation.Yesterday the U.S. stopped an empty Iranian tanker coming from the Indian Ocean which was heading towards an Iranian port. Iran responded by attacking three U.S. destroyer which seem to have intended to pass, east to west, through the Strait of Hormuz into the Persian Gulf.

ParticipantSome claims from Iran’s military and foreign minister –
Iran’s attacks on the three USN destroyers caused “significant damage” and the ships “changed course and left the area.”
The CIA’s estimate that Iran’s missile inventory and launcher capacity is now at 70-75% compared to Feb. 28 is incorrect. The correct figure is claimed to be 120%, due to assembly of “new missiles that were nearly complete when the war began.”

The US Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed that Iranian forces had “launched multiple missiles, drones and small boats” at three destroyers — the USS Truxtun, USS Rafael Peralta, and USS Mason.
Iran’s Army announced that the strikes were in response to the US violation of the April 8 ceasefire that had initially paused the joint US-Israel war against Iran. It said following the response, “the aggressor American destroyers changed course and left the area.”
A spokesperson for the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, which coordinates military operations between Iran’s Army and the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), said the Iranian counterattacks were immediate and decisive, causing “significant damage” to US warships.
According to a US official, Iran retains about 75 percent of its prewar inventory of mobile launchers and roughly 70 percent of its prewar missile stockpiles. The official added that there is evidence Iran has been able to recover and reopen almost all of its underground storage facilities, repair some damaged missiles, and even assemble new missiles that were nearly complete when the war began.
In a message on X on Friday, Iran’s foreign minister reacted to the CIA analysis, saying Iran has boosted its missile power compared to the period before the war and is more prepared than ever to defend the country.
“The CIA is wrong. Our missile inventory and launcher capacity are not at 75% compared to Feb. 28. The correct figure is 120%.

ParticipantHere are more words to say what I said.
Firing at and generally harassing US warships may be the better long-term strategy to defeat the Americans.
The Iranians know that each time they fire missiles and send drones, they are potentially causing millions of US dollars worth of damage to US naval hardware that will have to be fixed, with the consequent diversion of money away from other, more important but less urgent military priorities. And a consequent drop in US sailor morale, leading to more laundry fires and blocked toilet systems if not outright mutiny on warships, will be music and poetry to Iranian ears.
Wounding your enemies rather than killing them outright, so they have to divert resources to repairing their equipment, weapons and other assets; and treating soldiers, and providing for their future welfare (and that of their families) for decades to come – and the effect this has on public morale and support for pursuing a war – is just as much a powerful strategy that the likes of Catdog misses. This is a major part of a war of attrition that Iran has adopted.
Plus actually sinking a US warship in Iranian waters, aside from creating a huge toxic oil and chemical spillage near a narrow waterway, would bring on other consequences Tehran does not want – like a resumption of Operation Epic Futility.
Eventually of course the US will try to strong-arm and threaten other NATO nations and other US allies into sending warships to Iran, at the cost of their own self-defence interests. What message will that send to Iranians and the rest of the world?

Both leaders will emerge to a fanfare of superficial deals that each can claim as a win: the sale of American soybeans and perhaps jet engines that China desperately needs. They release statements pledging cooperation. Wheels up.

ParticipantThe MV Ocean Trader, a ship that’s referred to as “U.S. Special Operations Command’s Elusive Mothership,” has been spotted at the Diego Garcia naval facility in the Indian Ocean, after being seen near Venezuela late last year.
MV Ocean Trader is a converted roll-on/roll-off cargo vessel outfitted for clandestine maritime special operations under U.S. Military Sealift Command authority. The ship is designed to accommodate over 150 SOF personnel, rotary-wing aircraft, RHIBs, and ISR systems. Capable of remaining underway for extended periods without external support, Ocean Trader operates as a low-signature floating base for insertion, interdiction, and surveillance operations. (article at Army Recognition)

The four launch and recovery bays visible in the photo are said to be used for “stealthy Combat Craft-Assault (CCA)” speedboats.

We have wondered what types of craft would fill the now ironically named M/V Ocean Trader’s four launch and recovery bays located on the ship’s starboard side. The most likely option seemed to be rigid-hull inflatable boats, like the 11 meter Naval Special Warfare RHIB. But it turns out the ship totes around far more advanced vessels in the form of the stealthy Combat Craft-Assault (CCA).

ParticipantIs there a great diaspora out of Israel.
Copilot answer. There is no evidence of a “great diaspora” or sudden mass‑flight out of Israel in the sense of a collapse‑level exodus.
But there is a large, sustained, multi‑year emigration wave that Israeli officials themselves describe as a “tsunami.”
Please confirm with trusted sources.🇮🇱 What the data actually shows (2022–2026)
Across multiple independent sources, the pattern is consistent:1. Emigration has sharply increased since 2022
56,600 Israelis emigrated in 2022, the highest since records began in 1990.65,000 left in 2023, continuing the surge.
The Knesset reports 82,800 departures in 2023, a 39% jump from 2022.
Between early 2022 and mid‑2024, 125,000+ Israelis left — the largest loss of human capital in such a short period.
2. Departures now exceed returns by a wide margin
In 2023, the net migration gap was 58,600 more people leaving than returning. In 2024, the trend continued with 50,000 departures between January and August alone.
3. The demographic leaving is the country’s core workforce
68% of emigrants are age 25–44 — prime working age.High‑tech workers are heavily represented (12,500 in 2023).
University‑educated Israelis are overrepresented among emigrants.
This is why Israeli officials call it a brain drain, not just normal migration.
🇮🇱 What Israeli officials are saying
The Knesset Immigration Committee chair described the trend as:“Not a wave of emigration — it’s a tsunami.”
— MK Gilad KarivAnother Knesset report called it:
“A real strategic threat to the resilience of Israeli society.”
— Knesset Research CenterThis is unusually strong language for official government bodies.
🇮🇱 Why people are leaving (based on verified data)
1. Security shocks
October 7 attackGaza war
Ongoing regional instability
These events sharply increased departures in late 2023 and 2024.
2. Economic pressures
High cost of livingHousing shortages
Tax burden
Better job opportunities abroad (40% cite this as the main reason).
3. Political polarization
Judicial reform crisisDeclining trust in institutions
Concerns about democratic backsliding
These factors are repeatedly cited in Knesset reports.
🇮🇱 Is this a “great diaspora”?
Not in the historical sense
There is no mass refugee flight, no collapse of the state, and no sudden evacuation. But in demographic terms, yes — it is a major outflow
The numbers are the highest in decades. The emigrants are disproportionately skilled, young, and economically productive.
Departures consistently exceed returns.
Israeli officials themselves call it a tsunami and a strategic threat.
So while it is not a “diaspora event” like the 20th‑century Jewish dispersions, it is a significant and accelerating emigration wave with long‑term implications.
