    winning 50.1% of each red state would be enough to become president. That means with only 22% of total US votes you could win an election. Broken system much?

    Although theoretically possible to game the system to win with just 22% of total vote, in practice squeezing out 50.1% victories in 39 states is pretty much impossible. If that kind of extreme unlikelihood is what is needed to game the system then it is hardly broken.

    The Electoral College system was designed to keep a handful of urban centers from politically overwhelming the Federal system unless there is a fair amount of consensus out their in flyover country. On that score, it works very well.

    As for broken systems, how about the French Presidential election? President Macron has been a remarkably unpopular President. But in the French system, 20-25% of the first round vote can be enough to reach the 2nd round runoff. In 2017, Macron gained 24% of the vote in first round but was able to tap into widespread dislike of the Le Pen family to safely win the 2nd round by a 2 to margin.

    Presumably a landslide victory, yet forgotten was the 76% did not vote for him in the first round. Thus when he attempted his reforms, the Yellow Vest revolt was born and France has been a mess ever since. A unknown with political unpopular policies but a few powerful friends was able to easily game the system and attain power. Now that is a broken system. Vive la France!

    Fear, fear, fear. https://www.johndayblog.com/2020/11/fear-and-loathing-2020.html
    Fear of the virus slowly transforming into the fear of a civil war, and then, perhaps, if the civil war stubbornly fails to appear, transforming back into the fear of the virus. Clearly, a relaxed, thinking, united population is horrible for business.
    Someone wants us all to be on edge.
    Someone wants us to accept the perpetual stress and the near inevitability of violence as the “new normal.”
    Someone wants us to view the people with different political beliefs as a different species, unworthy of saving or compassion.
    Someone wants is to beg for security and predictability.
    Someone—whoever that someone is—is messing with our heads…

    Hunter Biden’s Story Could Help Hillary Clinton To Become Vice President
    There are only two ways for Joe Biden to prevent Republicans and independent media from further digging into the affair and all the potentially illegal issues it reveals.
    If Joe Biden loses the election the scandal will likely vanish as soon as he retreats from the public view.
    If Joe Biden wins the election the scandal will fester until he resigns.
    The second case is especially interesting. Vice President candidate Kamala Harris has been groomed by Hillary Clinton’s inner circle since 2017…
    Clinton’s recent Foreign Affairs piece, A National Security Reckoning – How Washington Should Think About Power, must be seen as a job application for a high position in a Harris (Biden) administration. Removing Joe Biden soon after he has won may well be in Clinton’s interest.

    Presidential Emergency Powers are a State Secret from everybody, including Congress.
    We are in several ongoing states of emergency, you see, thanks to Kissinger, Bush Sr., Cheney, and Barr.
     By 1974, the emergencies committee had drafted a bill that ended most existing emergencies and mandated the automatic termination of new ones after six months. Yet the bill’s passage was continually delayed, and its contents were steadily watered down, thanks in large part to what Jerry Brady, a former chief of staff on the committee, recalled as “pretty vigorous pushback from the president and others at the White House.”
     We now know, thanks to declassified archives, that the administration kept tight supervision over the committees’ work, and that Henry Kissinger urged unyielding resistance. As he exclaimed during a meeting with President Gerald Ford and others in May 1975: “It is an act of insanity and national humiliation to have a law prohibiting the president from ordering an assassination.” The White House deputy chief of staff, Dick Cheney, whose most distinguishing feature, according to another senior Ford aide, were his “snake-cold eyes, like a Cheyenne gambler’s,” also attempted to thwart the investigations behind the scenes. After reviewing thousands of declassified documents, the National Security Archive reported in 2015 that Cheney ultimately decided which documents requested by Church and his staff should be handed over, and that “CIA accommodation measures were explicitly designed to keep Church Committee investigators away from its most important records.” (Among those assigned to this task in the CIA legislative office was a conservative young lawyer named William Barr.)
     Little wonder, then, that the effort “to terminate the national emergency” failed. The bill did manage to abolish existing states of emergency.

    Taibbi: The Worst Choice Ever , “Vomit milkshake”
     Joe Biden is a corpse with hair plugs whose idea of “empathy” is to jam fingers in the sternums of people who ask the wrong questions, or call them “fat” or “full of shit,” or dare them to “try me” — and that’s if he remembers what state he’s in. Is he a better human than Donald Trump? Probably, but his mental decline has hit Lloyd Bridges-in-Hot-Shots! levels and he shares troubling characteristics with the president, beginning with a pathological struggle with truth.
     Biden spent much of 2020 lying about everything from his Iraq War vote to his educational history to a fantasy about being arrested in South Africa with Nelson Mandela. The same press that killed him for this behavior in the past let it all slide this time. Same with the growing ledger of handsy-uncle incidents that had adolescent girls and campaigning politicians alike wondering why a Vice President needs to smell their hair or plant lingering kisses on their heads while cameras flash...
     Donald Trump is going to be a difficult case for future historians because he’s simultaneously the biggest liar and the most lied-about politician in American history.

    Yves Smith posts this:
    I know far too few Trump backers to make any generalizations, but one who called Trump’s 2016 victory early is adamant that Trump will win now, despite the polls and the press saying his odds of prevailing are close to zilch. This individual demographically would be presumed to be a huuge Biden backer: a professional with an advanced degree, high income, blue city resident, cultured, female, older.

    One Trump Voter Explains Why Trump Will Win

    UK Sunday Express has November 1 poll, that seeks to identify people who will vote and “shy” Trump supporters. It shows him winning popular vote by a hair, but by a landslide in the electoral college.

    The Final DI-Sunday Express US Poll is Published

    Joe Biden’s campaign manager Jen O’Malley Dillon has asserted that, “Under no scenario will Donald Trump be declared a victor on election night.” … pro-Biden analytics firm Hawkfish previously asserted that it’s likely President Trump will appear to have won in a landslide on election night but may lose after mail in ballots are counted, which “will take days if not weeks to tally.” (fishy)

    Plutocratic Violence and Election night Horror – Marxian Analysis Shows That Antifa is Fascist, Joaquin Flores. Thanks Eleni
    “When fascism comes to America, it will be called antifascism” – Huey Long (misattributed)
     Antifa’s fascist violence will return on election night. That’s why it’s important to understand their fraudulence and fascism, and reject the politics of plutocrat-contrived violence. Perhaps strangely, Marxian analysis itself is best suited to communicate this point to the radical left...
     Both the traditional radical left and fascist right were proponents of violence towards political goals, even if in self-defense, but the traditional radical left used to focus on ‘punching up’: Attacking capital, the ruling class, the banks, big land owners.
     But historic fascism in its late-nascent stage is more similar to Maoism during the Cultural Revolution (there’s a strong New Left orientation to Maoism as well). It organizes and concentrates power by ‘punching down’.
     This dangerous fascistic trend among what has come to be known as ‘the left’. At the level of universities, it began in the late 90’s when coastal university classrooms became ‘call-out sessions’...
     That Antifa punches down and that mainstream media echoes their talking points, and that public service announcements are increasingly indistinguishable from Antifa propaganda, is a clear sign of its fascist essence.
     Punching down is always from a position of power, and its appropriation by the overt sections of power is a clear sign that their ideas have become what the French Marxist Althousser called the Ideological State Apparatus:

    “They love Donald Trump because no-one else loves them.”

    Wow, that sent chills down my spine. Tucker Carlson is really exposing the ugly roots of our ruling elite. Even if Trump loses this time around, the ideas which he planted into the national consciousness will continue to grow and gain power. And the all the Deep State shenanigans and conspiracies that were brought to light because of his unexpected win cannot be rehidden. The “genie is out of the bottle”, as they say.

    If you can spare a few minutes today, I highly recommend that you read the article which John Day referenced from the Strategic Culture Foundation website: Plutocrat Violence and Election-Night Horror: Marxian Analysis Shows That Antifa Is Fascist.

    I’ve often wondered why I was so elated and engaged during the early days of Occupy Wall Street, but yet when Antifa/BLM came along I had absolutely no inner “pull’ to get involved or side with their cause. Was I just getting too old for political activism? Nope, that’s not it. Rather, on an instinctual level I was repulsed by their tactics and goals. The referenced article helped in many ways to clarify why.

    Somewhere I saw that someone had a bumper sticker with “Any Functioning Human Being 2020.” Like me, that bumper sticker owner is going to be very disappointed this week regardless of how the vote turns out.

    I think that the choice in 2016 was worse. But we haven’t had any good choices in a long while.

    Ominous out there, EU about to cancel their paper currency. Remember US$ dies last. Might not be long after tho.

    Europe Preparing to Cancel all Paper Money

    As said, they are moving to pure Soviet Socialism. Pay for everyone, all things controlled by central planning and government. As they couldn’t find other excuse, for the pandemic. So all lockdown, all papers, all ownership, all forced austerity. Later when this doesn’t work, all starvation, hardship, war, and death. Not Socialism’s first rodeo. Only tried continuously for 170 years and murdered millions each time. …While keeping oligarchs on palatial Dachas and shopping in Zurich.

    Texas accident with the Biden bus. Not so simple once you ask questions. Short story: nobody did nothin’. As there are cameras everywhere, we can see that the Biden bus was moving between lanes. So the white Biden minivan thought he was in his lane as he moved along in reference to the giant, wall-sized bus. In actuality, he was lane-shifting INTO a giant pickup truck, essentially in his blind spot. So the Trump driver did not attack a Biden van. In a sense the Biden van attacked the Trump truck. But none of it was intentional, it was just an ordinary roadside accident.

    So obviously expect the media to report the opposite from now on.

    “If we had instant, systematic testing, we wouldn’t be here.”

    But if they had a functional approach they wouldn’t need the vaccine passport and worldwide totalitarianism. What fun would that be?

    And they DO have these tests. They just won’t use them. They also claim not to know what it does, how it spreads, or what helps or hinders it. 10 months and 2B people in I find that implausible. No one notices. It’s easier to attack me for asking. “Obey the experts when they tell you everything and the opposite!!! Gawd!”

    “DNC hacking/election interference”

    He means the DNC hacking where no one has ever looked at the servers, and the election interference founded on the servers we didn’t see and the case we didn’t create or prove. Makes as much sense as anything! When there’s a major crime that can topple the world’s “biggest” nuclear power, we always don’t do any investigation of evidence for 4 years.

    “maintained a four point lead of 49 percent”

    Or is losing by a 12-point lead. News, facts, reality ala carte, either Trump wins by a 49-state landslide or Biden does. So it’s like the market: “We predict it will go up, down, or sideways.” There. Covered it.

    “Twitter has put a “might be misleading” label on a tweet”

    Yup. They now know the future too! Not just which news is true and false before anyone investigates it. Meanwhile, Bigfoot sites, which are either false or can’t be proven, remain up and untroubled. Funny rules. So only SOME unproven, only SOME false allegations are taken down: the ones that you don’t like.

    One lifelong Democrat named Mayra Gomez, an immigrant to the country,”

    This tells you something. So the IMMIGRANT is for Trump. The Millennial, born here in luxury and raised on a diet of envy and dissatisfaction, is not. Who would know better of such things?
    Others have demanded a “required vote” system like Australia. Yeah, I see how well that’s doing them. So they’re for fining/arresting me, all the poor folks, and anyone who dares take a vacation to the Outback when Big Brother says you have to get on a pregnant donkey and report to Bethlehem. How archaic is that?

    The government can’t be better than its people. It’s worse. Almost any system under an enlightened people would be good. If the people are bad, they can make even the best system terrible. As the U.S. demonstrates every day.

    “Hunter Biden’s Story Could Help Hillary Clinton To Become Vice President”

    Worse, as Kamala is not a “natural” citizen, she could be removed a day after Joe is. And replaced with?? I’m not following this as we have enough likely things to consider, but Constitutional Crisis at minimum. You think they didn’t vote for Bush? At least he was running. How about President Pelosi APPOINTING President Clinton? This is the kind of thing they want to happen to “re-engineer” the nation. As Obama said, we plan to “Fundamentally change America”. Some people don’t want it changed. They want its existing rules and mores enforced.

    ““Under no scenario will Donald Trump be declared a victor on election night.”

    Pennsylvania’s AG said the same thing. He cannot and will not approve his state vote for Trump under any circumstances. While loose talk, whatever, that certainly is a bad look for impartial justice to 49 and 99/100ths states.

    Flores is missing that the Fascists were leftists LAST time too. That’s why they were called National Soooooocialists. That’s why Bonito was a labor organizer. There are no conservative fascists. Fascists can only exist in an environment of unrestrained, universal, totalitarian government. Even Kings of France on the “Right” don’t go that far. This Left-Right has lying has gone on long enough: there is only freedom and authoritarianism.

    “Why Trump Will Win

    November 3, 2020

    TRUMP has been the best thing possible for the consolidation of tyrannical global power in America.

    His presidency — or, the way it is spun — has helped demonize common sense patriotism, turning it in the public mind into villainous, racist white supremacy. It has both discredited and pacified the only possible resistance in the entire world to this Communist-style takeover. It has created oceans of destabilizing and demoralizing social division, a necessary condition for revolution.

    Trump is viciously and often dishonestly attacked in the media, but this is done ultimately not in order to discredit him as a candidate or president. We can know this because the worst blemishes on his record are rarely mentioned in the news.

    No, the real goal is not to destroy Trump. The goal is to discredit and disarm you, that common sense patriot.

    Now I may be wrong that Trump will win this election after the appearance of election fraud and weeks of conflict and riots in the cities, but if he loses, good things might happen. That common sense patriotism might just become militant and separate itself from controlled elections, it might turn to spiritual and moral renewal instead of falling asleep under a false hero who doesn’t represent the best of our country at all.

    God bless America!”

    My first thought was maybe the USA would blow itself up with nuclear weapons and then the rest of the world could get on with living without the bully being around.

    I have spent a fair amount of time in the USA and the people that I have met have been beautiful. I don’t know if your country will ever recover but from my perspective the wealth needs to be taxed and spread throughout the population.

    Official 2020 Election Night Drinking Game Rules

    The main rule is implied: just start drinking and don’t stop for the next few years.

    As for tonight specifically, here goes:

    Drink for EVERY MENTION of:

    1) “Red mirage”;

    2) “Blue mirage”;

    3) “Path to victory” or “route to victory”;

    4) “Most important election of our lifetime”;

    5) “Still too close to call”;

    6) “Shy Trump supporter”;

    7) “Unprecedented”;

    8) “Firewall.” Double if this is accompanied by an awkward effort by an anchor to inoffensively characterize the minority voting bloc to which they’re ascribing monolithic voting tendencies;

    9) “Neck and neck”;

    10) “Broward County” or “Miami-Dade”;

    11) “It could be a big night for (whatever)”;

    12) “It all comes down to Pennyslvania.”

    And there’s much more.

    #65154

    13) “Early”
    Half-sips recommended.
