let me help you with the confusion by just pointing out a few mistakes and hope you can think the rest of the way through.
You cannot tell the difference between a Right Wing Conservative from 1957 and a left-leaning liberal from 2025.
You cannot tell the difference between an INTJ who has had their every hobby, interest, loves, and work invaded and is experimenting to see if ANYTHING can get past “there shall be no discussion” on the one hand and autism on the other.
If you find yourself in such a situation, you have allowed someone else to corral you, to define your terms for you, and are meekly agreeing to stay put, like an adult elephant that lets themselves be tethered by a tiny string. Working The Problem or Admitting The Problem has to remain outside one’s field of consciousness.
I suppose most people landed on “liberal” as a value system because it was comfortable and accrue virtue points on oneself – it was the totally dominant worldview. And then, to gain even MOAR comfort and virtue, the mass of people that turned out to be unprincipled go-alongers, by carrot and stick – even MORE virtue, avoid losing comfort – drifted left until they are unrecognizable.
I would love to get back to the 80’s or 90’s and, in our color blind society, glory in everyone getting to play EACH IN THEIR OWN WAY and that what we have together is a result of that, luxuriate in all the socialistIC policies we might enact for our peoples’ benefit, play around in the edgy margins of a stable society.
I wouldn’t mind socialists LARPing that they are fighting evil oppression – knowing they are doing so in my society because it is the safest, least oppressive society in which to LARP that you are fighting oppression.
