It seems companies demanding mandates is losing steam in the US. I know my company was considering the idea but realized too many people would leave, particularly those in the plants that actually make things. Speaking with some friends at other manufacturing companies gives me the same impression. I think the reasoning is purely financial, though seeing more discussion in mainstream sources about how natural immunity is better gives me the hope that this push is fizzling.
Based on the article on Greek doctors and nurses above as well as comments here, it seems like the healthcare industry is the loudest one still pushing for mandates.
Anyone else seeing this lessening in their own personal experience? The opposite?

What do you think will come out of Jackson Hole this week? While they have been signaling more and more that they are thinking about considering a taper, I don’t see it. Congress is trying to pass a $3.5 trillion (or more) stimulus package – don’t they need ultra low rates as well as the Fed to monitize?

Perhaps the comparison has already been made but the thought came to me now as a favorite movie of mine is Kubrik’s Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb. Its almost comical, if it wasn’t so serious (as Kubrick intends), that the movie paints our picture.
Dr Fuaci or: How I learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Jab. Final scene is our pal Raul riding a giant syringe, waving his cowboy hat…

@Doc Robinson – thanks for that article. “Their big concern is, they just want to get vaccinations up. And they don’t want to punch any holes in the story about vaccines.

If NY Magazine was able to review those numbers, does that mean they exist somewhere for the rest of us to see? A few similar comparisons from Israel have been shown on TAE before, would be nice to see the hard numbers that support the ‘pandemic in the unvaxxinated claim”

We are continuously told that it is a “pandemic of the unvaccinated” with scary statistics like 99% of those in the hospital are unvaxxed. Does anyone have a source for that data? I’m guessing it would have been shared on TAE, either in the debt rattle or in the comments, but not finding easily.

@WES – appreciate the insight. My point is – fire me (please don’t, but if you do it’ll hurt you a lot more than it hurts me). If my company fires me for not being vaccinated, our suppliers and customer’s are probably doing the same thing. If you lose your suppliers and customers – where are you? If the economy loses 50% of makers and buyers, where are we? Sure, legal precedent allows for this or pressures for that… if we go down that route, what is left?

Many of us seem to have a similar outlook regarding vaccine mandates being unfortunate and probably inevitable (in some sense whether to fly, shop, work, breathe). My company is considering how to implement a mandate, but as a manufacturing company with a low vaxx rate in our plants, there is a very high impact if employees call BS. It seems many companies in the area are doing some small things, separating the in and out crowd (identifiable by mask), but on the whole nothing much. As a social animal, the feelings of being ostracized are not nothing, but there are more important things.

Overall though, it has led me to believe that this is a great lesson in how to become “unfuckwithable.” The more nonsense I hear, the more I realize friends/family/bosses are parroting the official narrative out of fear. “Not my problem, sorry you are so worked up about this.” I’d be open to discussing my reasoning but it always seems those most on-board are blinded to any other point of view other than the what they are told by “the narrative”. We all get tunnel vision in the presence of fear.

I might lose my job and hard to think about telling my wife and kids things are going to change because I am standing up for what I believe in. At the same time I am calling shenanigans on the whole threat. What happens when 50% of us lose our jobs and/or 50% cannot shop/spend? Magic money in the mail to people and businesses (as long as they are vaxxed)?

So to those who are stressing, and I think that is why many of us choose to share our views here, I reach out in solidarity. Stay strong. Rally those you can. The more unfuckwithable we are, the less power they have.

@Mr House: I think your use of the word “correctly” could depend on your point of view. Everyone in congress is a millionaire several times over, so they’re doing something right, even if it isnt what we think we are electing them for…

Assuming ADE is here or coming, which I know could be debated (though I tend to think it explains a lot), what are the preventative steps that one can take? Is this something that early treatment of IVM can help with or is that the problem being highlighted with IMATH+.

I think there have been some answers to this, maybe I’m a bit slow on understanding.

The other challenge I see, thinking of helping my family if they get hit with an ADE case, is how to convince them to take IVM or similar drugs. They see my stance as uninformed or tinfoil hat…

I’ve been reading all your posts more frequently lately as it has become impossible (or nearly so) to have real, live discussions with people in an objective way. Such are the times we live in. Reading your views on how frustrating the situation is helps me keep my sanity.

While flagging the daily BS has its place, any thoughts on how a group like this can go on more of an offensive? I imagine you all would agree that sharing facts and objective perspectives are ineffective or counterproductive.

What about humor? I think many of the great comedians (George Carlin comes to mind) have been able to wake people up to the fact that the emperor has no clothes. Im specifically thinking of responses to the question of whether one is vaccinated or not.

I’m not naturally funny, though working on a quip along the lines of “The people who brought you Iraqi WMDs want you to trust the people who brought you the opioid epidemic.” Any thoughts on that ‘joke’ or any others in a similar spirit you have?
