An“erudite defence of the freedom of the press” in front of almost all Washington reporters. And it doesn’t mention Julian Assange and Chelsea Manning even once.

But of course Chernow got a standing ovation; he didn’t make anybody uncomfortible; or fearful; or sweat, or angry (at least there at the dinner), or realize what corrupted bags of wasted flesh they are…
    …and the band played on…

I fear to ask; how’s your Patreon going?

Cute, nice, see the Twitter thread at the link, but I must wonder: why bother? You’re just giving her more to talk about.

Question should be: how can this nutcase still have a TV show? And why do people watch it? Is this what ‘freedom of the press’ has come to mean? The freedom to lie?!

    • Aaron Maté Shreds Rachel Maddow (RT)

    Rhetorical question, no?
I’m pleased Mate’ pilloried Madow; somebody had to do it.
    Will it matter? Not likely!
And here we circle back on your question…

I’m pleased Maté pilloried Maddow; somebody had to do it.

Sure, me too. But she’s been doing this daily for over 2 years now; someone should do a full exposé. And it really is nuts that she still has a show, and is most popular to boot. And with Chernow, these people are the first and the loudest to shout about freedom of the press.

A president cannot be indicted, but he also can’t defend himself, and there’s no-one else to do it for him either. That “very fine people” in Charlottesvile nonsense is also still circulating, Biden even used it in his announcement. But, you know, stop calling it news.

Yes! But, that’s very informative; it’s the most accurate view of the majority of Usians thinking.
And that should scare the holy shit out of all who think differently.
It’s irrevocably broken; the whole bloody system is busted wide open.
Madow rules and truth is dead and buried…
I have no idea what form it will take, but; it’s going to take a catastrophy of unimaginable proportions to shake the sleepers awake to reality…

“And why do people watch it?”

Don’t worry: they don’t watch it. Anymore. Re-runs of Sponge Bob now have higher ratings (true fact). She’s only there because the billionaire that owns NBC and her soul WANTS these lies told. What’s the use of owning a newspaper if you don’t use it to lie to your advantage? Certainly not the profit margins, which are negative. Ask Bezos.

Anyway, who owns NBC and Maddow’s formerly human soul? No longer GE, the weapons manufacturer, that was the Bush era. It’s Comcast, the nation’s most-hated company, and the one Biden genuflected for as the very first act of his campaign, in order to take the lobbyist money he said he wasn’t taking. So it goes in the land of lies and corruption.

“Maddow remains one of the US’ most popular news anchors,”

This is a bit outdated, she’s lost about half her audience in this fiasco. Anyway, isn’t this what Raul was saying week after week, month after month, in warning to Maddow and the Democratic party that the evidence wasn’t good, and if they kept up, they would go down with the ship and get Trump re-elected? Shouldn’t he get a DNC medal for his stiff warning in the face of heavy fire, and calling it correctly? Apparently not. Helping the DNC to win against Trump is now being a Trumpanista, and a Putin Puppet. And why not? Everything else is.

“Why Did Mueller Let Trump Off the Hook? (Mike Whitney)”

Excellent question I don’t have the answer for. The report is too slimy and also fake (in Russian interference) to be that he’s bought off by Trump in a deal to not hang Mueller for muling the Uranium to Moscow for the Uranium One deal (this actually happened). Mueller also extended long, long after he knew it was false – he may have always known, as Strozk certainly did (see his texts) – but long enough to try some open election tampering of his own, making sure the specter was out there to flip the midterm elections. And yet Mueller famously planted evidence on most of his FBI cases, famously Whitey Bulger and the Ft. Dix Anthrax Scientist, both of which were so egregious he paid reparations for them. –And I need not tell you, the U.S. railroads a dozen a day, so the fabrication must be terrible indeed for the government to say they’re sorry, by paying actual, open mafia members legal reparations. So why did he NOT just fabricate and plant evidence, like the FBI usually does?

That leaves not my first choice, but Raul’s belief that the problem wasn’t fabricating – clearly that was fine – but that he would have to PROVE his case in an actual court of law. Which he couldn’t. So being a slimy weasel, he retracted that part, convicted anyone who couldn’t defend themselves, and left 350 pages of innuendo for Congress to follow. …How they can investigate what he already investigated, for crimes he couldn’t substantiate is another question, but that’s politics for ya. It doesn’t matter what’s true, only what s—t will fly.

“Iran Appeals Directly to Trump: Your Advisers Drag You into War (ZH)”

Certainly true, but also part of the good cop, bad cop. There are certain negotiations they are making now. My theory: like N. Korea – or ourselves! – there is a “Deep State” inside NoKo or Iran, which has a different agenda than the people or civil government. Trump is trying to put pressure on THAT group, perhaps inside the Revolutionary Guard? You’d have to follow very deep-intel people to see if this has merit, ’cause none of us on the outside can tell.

“Rising Unrest Across Middle East (CNBC)”

You mean different than starting multiple wars, a million dead in Rumsfeld’s U.S.-backed Iraq-Iran war, killing a million children in the ‘90 Iraq embargo, (“It was worth it” – Madeleine Albright) starting an Arab Spring that topples 5 nations like Tommy Franks said, causing a violent coup in Egypt, leveling Africa’s most prosperous and successful country with an open slave market in Libya, starting a new war in Syria, Yemen, and essentially Turkey, and killing a million civilians across MENA? You mean more unrest than that? ‘Cause I’m thinking with Al-Q and Isis down, and Syria contained again, it’ll be LESS unrest across the Middle East, Israel excepted.

“We want a country that looks forwards and advances.” As opposed to?

Sort of. They mean don’t look back or keep anything that worked from the past, that’s worked for 5,000 years of human nature, because that’s “Conservatism.” Anything: Isis, Stalinist Green Policies, collapsing economies, failed NIH in Bitain and Finland, anything, anything but Conservatism, anything but what’s been proven to work. Because we’re brilliant and everybody before me was an idiot!

“You have 19 people in front of you and you have only 26 eyes that look back,” he told the press conference. “Count, there is a small problem,”

This is why they wanted the pan-Euro army, tout suite. Get those Poles to shoot French rabble, and the Spanish soldiers to shoot the Polish rabble. Then the leaders shoot the rabble however the please with no resistance. Instead, at the rate they’re going, the French army will flip on Macron and push him out.

“In recent months, however, Bavaria has taken a surprising detour from its traditional path.”

Only to these guys’ false assumptions about conservatives. Conservatives are supposed to ‘conserve’. Also to love and therefore not destroy their hone nation. Even conserve the planet entrusted to us by God, heaven forbid, as they cannot stand the name to be in their mouths! Just like Roosevelt created the national parks and Nixon started the EPA and endangered species acts, and I’m sure others. As opposed to the non-conservatives deep progressives like the Soviet Union and Argentina, who are epically polluted. Or heck, liberal progressive Europe now loving on RoundUp now that it’s Bayer. All these parties have problems, but it’s amazing they can get away with reporting the opposite. Again. Go Bavaria!

“If I had tried to impose my will, would this have happened?” – Antonio Gramsci

They would have rightfully fought back against the violence of enforcing your will, and the while world would be blind and at war. The only alternative to that endless violence of telling others what to do, how to live, by raw force, is free speech. With it, we can debate and discuss and convince others to change. Without it, we can only beat them into being rebellious slaves to our iron will. I know which I choose, and it’s not well-meaning busybodies telling me how to be, or else.

I fear to ask; how’s your Patreon going?

Why fear? Maybe hope works better. So far, 1 week in, 9 patrons for $84. We need about 50 times as many, would be my guess. And since 1000’s read TAE every day, that should be possible.

People have gotten their news largely for free until now, and can’t really be expected to see the changes in the industry as fast as I do.

What I see happening down the line is ever more people only getting it from the NYT, because they can’t afford scores of subscriptions. The EU copyright legislation that’s pending seems to work towards this as well: large corporations monopolizing what news is.

For now it’s early goings. I’m going to have to write that piece explaining how I see this. But that comes down to asking for money, and that is not what TAE is for. Well, never was. I’m not a salesman.

    Wow. That’s not me!

    https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2019-04-28/shipp-coup-against-trump-biggest-violation-constitution-history

The danger for ‘We the People’ is the Dark Left and Dark Left violence. As these indictments begin to come out, and as the players are called out, the violence on what I call the Dark Left, the violence is going to increase to the point where it’s going to be very, very bad. There are going to be beatings and probably shootings, and shooting at police. . . . There is going to be a lot of violence coming from the Left in the next year or two. This is one of the reasons you need to exercise your 2nd Amendment rights . . . because of what the Left is going to do with these findings and what is going to be the death knell for the Democrat Party and the death knell for taking over our Constitution and culture. They will exponentially bring up their violence, and Americans need to arm themselves and protect themselves against that.”

    That’s not me.

    Evidence
…. we have no evidence of it.
    Rule of law requires evidence.
    No evidence equals no respect.
No evidence equals a kangaroo court.
Did Meuller present evidence in his report?
I thought that Meuller was representing the highest court of law with his special investigation.
Since most politicians are lawyers that know how to speak with a forked tongue, we should not be surprised that they question all decisions by their own highest court.
How to lose respect, present no evidence.

    Respect

due regard for the feelings, wishes, rights, or traditions of others.
“young people’s lack of respect for their parents”
synonyms: due regard, consideration, thoughtfulness, attentiveness, politeness, courtesy, civility, deference
“he speaks to the old lady with respect”
