White House Responds To US Lawmakers’ Call For Russia Talks (RT)

US officials have dismissed the idea of direct talks with Moscow without Kiev’s involvement, after some 30 Democratic representatives wrote a letter urging President Joe Biden to pursue a diplomatic end to the conflict in Ukraine. “We’ve been very clear: Nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine,” White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters on Monday, adding that “this is a decision that President [Vladimir] Zelensky is going to have to make when it comes to any type of conversation with Russia, any type of negotiation.” US National Security Council spokesman John Kirby similarly stated on Monday that the Ukrainians must be part of any future negotiations.

“We’re not going to have conversations with the Russian leadership without the Ukrainians being represented,” Kirby said, as cited by the Washington Post. “Mr. Zelensky gets to determine – because it’s his country – what success looks like and when to negotiate.” Kirby noted the US administration “appreciates [the lawmakers’] very thoughtful concerns,” while Jean-Pierre admitted she hasn’t seen the letter. Both, however, insisted that Russian President Vladimir Putin could choose to end the conflict “at any time.” In a letter to the White House on Monday, Congressional Progressive Caucus chair Pramila Jayapal (Washington) cited the “destruction” of Ukraine, the threat of nuclear war and the economic turmoil visited upon Europe as reasons to pursue a negotiated settlement.

Signed by prominent progressives including Ro Khanna (Pennsylvania), Ilhan Omar (Minnesota) and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (New York), the letter acknowledged that the ultimate decision on when to return to the negotiating table remains Ukraine’s. However, it concluded by urging Biden to open “direct talks with Russia,” without suggesting what kind of compromises the lawmakers think Ukraine should make for peace. Ukraine’s president previously said he would never negotiate with Russia as long as President Putin is in power, and has vowed to seize four formerly Ukrainian regions that recently joined the Russian Federation, as well as Crimea, which voted to rejoin Russia in 2014.

“..the UK “rejected Russia’s allegations that Ukraine is planning actions to escalate the conflict.”

Russia Warns US and UK About Ukraine’s ‘Dirty Bomb’ Plans (RT)

Moscow has discussed the threat of Kiev potentially using a “dirty bomb” with London and Washington at the level of the chiefs of the General Staff, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Monday. The Russian chief of defense, General Valery Gerasimov, raised his country’s concerns in a phone call with US Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Mark Milley, after having a similar conversation with his British counterpart, Admiral Sir Tony Radakin. The Pentagon only mentioned that the two generals discussed “several security-related issues of concern” without providing any further details. It was the first such conversation between Gerasimov and Milley since May.

The British Defence Ministry said the phone call between Radakin and Gerasimov took place “at the request of the Russian Ministry of Defense,” adding that the UK “rejected Russia’s allegations that Ukraine is planning actions to escalate the conflict.” Radakin also “restated the UK’s enduring support for Ukraine,” the ministry’s statement added. London also agreed it was important to keep communication channels with Moscow open to “manage the risk of miscalculation and to facilitate de-escalation.” The developments came a day after Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu raised similar concerns in phone calls with the defense chiefs of the US, UK, and France. Moscow has been warning Western nations about Kiev’s alleged plans to use a “dirty bomb” to frame Russia for quite some time. The West, however, has remained largely dismissive of such warnings.

Earlier on Monday, the Russian Defense Ministry claimed that Kiev wants to frame Moscow as a “nuclear terrorist” by accusing it of using weapons of mass destruction and thus potentially launching a “powerful anti-Russia campaign.” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov also stated that the West’s disbelief in this scenario does not make the threat any less pressing. Kiev has denied Moscow’s allegations. Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky also said that the only side capable of launching an attack using nukes is Russia itself. Meanwhile, the UN called on all sides of the conflict to show restraint. Stephane Dujarric, a spokesman for UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, told a briefing on Monday that all parties should “avoid” any actions that could lead to miscalculation or further escalation of the already devastating conflict.

“.. this situation did not suit the West and thus caused a genuine hysterics among our Western “colleagues..”

Russian Warning To The UN Security Council (Saker)

Since during the eight years of bitter experience of the inhabitants of Donbass we know well, what the Kiev regime is capable of, a decision was made to cool down the militant ardour of the arrogant Kiev terrorists. With precision-guided missiles strikes and UAVs of Russian manufacture, were destroyed a large number of military installations, and also infrastructure facilities, [reducing] the military capabilities and undermining potentials of Zelensky’s repressive regime. Of course, this situation did not suit the West and thus caused a genuine hysterics among our Western “colleagues”, which we can observe in all its glory expressed during today’s meeting.

Naturally, as before, they do not want to see the truth and acknowledge that the civilian targets were hit and were damaged only in those cases when the drones were shot down near the targets by the Ukrainian territorial defense .. and because of that had deviated from the original course. Or the [damage happened] when civilian targets were hit by the Ukrainian air-defense missiles, which were not capable of Intercepting their targets. There are plenty of such cases, including recorded on video. Anyone who wants to, can watch them on the Internet. Right now Ukraine and its Western patrons are trying to spin another fake about the alleged deliveries to Russia of the Iranian UAVs, in violation of the UN Security Council Resolution No. 2231.

We reject any such attempts to draw the UN Secretariat into this unscrupulous game. An example of this is the letter distributed in the Security Council today by Germany, France and the UK with a de facto petition to the UN Secretariat to violate the article 100 of the UN charter and mandate, prescribed in the note of the President UN Security Council S/2016/44 of 16 January, 2016. The US went even further and in their letter directly demanded from the Secretariat to conduct an investigation that the Secretariat is not authorized to open. This is an egregious situation and we submitted our legal assessments in our response letter, which was circulated before this session. We are waiting for the Secretariat to fully confirm that it does not intend to go along with the violation of the UN charter [demanded] by these Westerners’ instructions, and will not conduct any such “investigation”.

Ukraine Faces ‘Worst Winter In History’ – Head Of National Energy Giant (RT)

Ukraine is facing its harshest winter, which will be marked by ongoing blackouts, Yuri Vitrenko, the head of the state-owned energy giant Naftogaz, has said. In an interview with German outlet Handelsblatt, Vitrenko explained that “about 40% of the power generation plants were destroyed” by recent Russian airstrikes. “It will be the worst winter in our history. We expect constant power outages and problems with heating,” Vitrenko said in the interview published on Monday, adding that Moscow has also hit Ukrainian refineries. Ukraine is preparing for winter blackouts, the Naftogaz boss said, admitting that “it is impossible to 100% prevent problems” and the country therefore needs help from its partners.

In an interview with The Guardian in late August, long before Russia launched its offensive against Ukrainian energy infrastructure, Vitrenko admitted that without Western financial support, Ukraine would “lack gas” and, consequently, might see its power system going down. In September, the Naftogaz boss urged Ukrainians to stock up on blankets and warm clothes, noting that this year’s heating season will start later and end earlier, while winter temperatures in apartments will be set at 17-18 degrees Celsius (62-64 degrees Fahrenheit), four degrees below the standard temperature. The ongoing shelling of Ukrainian infrastructure by Moscow prompted Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky last week to ask his compatriots to ease pressure on the struggling energy system by limiting their use of electricity between 5 and 11 pm.

On Sunday, he also asked the local authorities “to consume electricity very consciously” and emphasized that “this is not the right time for bright shop windows and signs.” Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a shift in the military offensive in Ukraine on October 10, with Moscow’s forces launching massive long-range missile strikes on Ukrainian military, communication, and energy facilities. He accused Kiev of masterminding several “terrorist attacks” on Russian infrastructure, including the Crimean Bridge bombing attack.

“..the US president and the heads of European countries are becoming the sponsors and accomplices in nuclear terrorism..”

Russian Duma Speaker Compares ‘Kiev Regime’ To Al-Qaeda (RT)

The Ukrainian government employs the same tactics as Al-Qaeda in its conflict with Moscow, Vyacheslav Volodin, the head of the State Duma, the lower house of Russia’s parliament, said on Monday. Writing on his Telegram channel, Volodin compared Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky to Osama Bin Laden, the leader of the Islamist group behind the 9/11 terrorist attacks in the US in 2001. “Washington released information 20 years ago that Al-Qaeda terrorists led by Bin Laden got access to radioactive materials and were planning to make a ‘dirty bomb,’” he said. “The threat of using such a bomb in the US and Europe had existed until Bin Laden was killed in 2011.” Volodin claimed that Kiev had instructed its nuclear scientists to make a ‘dirty bomb’, while its forces shell the critical infrastructure of the Zaporozhye and Kursk nuclear power plants.

“Through financial and military aid to Zelensky’s regime, the US president and the heads of European countries are becoming the sponsors and accomplices in nuclear terrorism,” Volodin wrote. The comments came after Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu warned his British and French counterparts on Sunday about “a potential Ukrainian provocation” involving a ‘dirty bomb’. Zelensky dismissed the allegations and accused Moscow of threatening the world with nuclear weapons. “If Russia alleges that Ukraine is preparing something, it means only one thing: that Russia itself is preparing it,” Zelensky said on Sunday. Moscow and Kiev have accused each other of shelling the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant, which was seized by Russian troops after Moscow launched its military operation in the neighboring country. Zaporozhye Region voted in September to leave Ukraine and has since been admitted into Russia.

The ‘War of Terror’ May Be About To Hit Europe (Escobar)

[..] the arrival of General Winter in Europe portends a socio-economic descent into a maelstrom of darkness – unimaginable only a few months ago in the supposedly “garden” of humanity, so far away from the rumbles across the “jungle.”Well, from now on barbarism begins at home. And Europeans should thank the American “ally” for it, skillfully manipulating fearful, vassalized EU elites. Way more dangerous though is a specter that very few are able to identify: the imminent Syrianization of Europe. That will be a direct consequence of the NATO debacle in Ukraine. From an imperial perspective, the prospects in the Ukrainian battlefield are gloomy. Russia’s Special Military Operation (SMO) has seamlessly morphed into a Counter-Terror Operation (CTO): Moscow now openly characterizes Kiev as a terrorist regime.

The pain dial is incrementally going up, with surgical strikes against Ukrainian power/electricity infrastructure about to totally cripple Kiev’s economy and its military. And by December, there’s the arrival on the front lines and in the rear of a properly trained and highly motivated partial mobilization contingent. The only question concerns the timetable. Moscow is now in the process of slowly but surely decapitating the Kiev proxy, and ultimately smashing NATO “unity.” The process of torturing the EU economy is relentless. And the real world outside of the collective West – the Global South – is with Russia, from Africa and Latin America to West Asia and even sections of the EU.

It is Moscow – and significantly not Beijing – that is tearing apart the hegemon-coined “rules-based international order,” supported by its natural resources, the provision of food and reliable security. And in coordination with China, Iran and major Eurasian players, Russia is working to eventually decommission all those US-controlled international organizations – as the Global South becomes virtually immune to the spread of NATO psyops.

Full Demilitarization Area Around Zaporozhye NPP Impossible – Moscow (RT)

Russia has ruled out complete demilitarization of the area around the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (NPP), but would support some kind of arrangement to ensure its safety, a senior Russian diplomat has said. “An agreement about demilitarization is impossible in principle. We cannot keep the station safe without guarding it,” Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov told the newspaper Izvestia on the sidelines of an international seminar on the prevention of nuclear war in Moscow. “Zone of protection is a different idea, and its parameters are being discussed,” he noted, referring to Russian contacts with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), in remarks published on Monday.

Moscow is engaged with IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi and has observers from the UN nuclear watchdog stationed at the facility, Ryabkov said, adding that Russia has “nothing to hide.” The Zaporozhye NPP has been under Russian control since the early stages of the military operation in Ukraine. Kiev and Moscow accused each other of shelling the station on multiple occasions. Ukraine also claimed that Russia deployed heavy weapons at the site and used them to attack Ukrainian troops. Russia took over formal responsibility for the station earlier this month, after Zaporozhye Region voted in a referendum to split with Kiev and become part of Russia.

The IAEA, however, still refers to the largest nuclear power plant in Europe as Ukrainian. The agency stressed “the need to establish a nuclear safety and security protection zone around the facility, following frequent shelling at or near the plant in recent months,” in its latest briefing on the situation. Both Russia and Ukraine expressed discontent with the IAEA’s refusal to say who is responsible for the shelling of the plant. Speaking to Argentinian media last week, Grossi said his goal was to identify “the lowest common denominator” between the two nations and to ensure the physical safety of the nuclear site. He chose to ignore the mutual accusations, as taking “a militant or critical position” would have been detrimental to that goal, he explained in an interview with La Nacion newspaper.

“..the idea that Russia and the US will just fight an infantry war and cordially accept the results is ridicu-fucking-lous..”

1000s of Years of Human Progress or the Donbas in Ukraine? (Cosgrove)

Neocons: WTF are you thinking? There is no winning scenario for the US on the path we are currently on. If Crimea is in jeopardy (a region controlled by Russia for almost a decade which the citizens overwhelmingly support), Putin will nuke Ukraine. It’s a lose-lose for the US from there as we can either escalate and destroy the world or not and appear weak. Don’t think Putin will nuke? According to Pentagon Papers whistleblower Daniel Ellsberg, former nuclear planner for Rand Corporation with personal access to Nixon, stated that the former President was dangerously close to going nuclear on Vietnam. In an interview for Mint Press News, he discusses Nixon’s plan to use nuclear blackmail to end the war quickly. “‘There was pressure to make the war larger’” if the offer was rejected, the whistleblower noted, and ‘nuclear targets were picked.’”

If Vietnam, a country nearly 8,000 miles from the continental US, was enough of a headache that Nixon nearly pushed the button… what do you think Putin is thinking right now with a war on his border and having just resorted to conscription? So stop this NATO theatre near the border. Putin does not want to invade NATO and take over Europe (let alone all of Ukraine). And if the plan is to deploy these troops in the event that a nuke is used (as many have advocated for), the idea that Russia and the US will just fight an infantry war and cordially accept the results is ridicu-fucking-lous.

The risk-reward of our military support for Ukraine has reached unfathomable levels of insanity. By the State Department’s own analysis, there are no material differences in human rights protections between the governments of Ukraine and Russia. Who exactly are we helping by using Ukraine as our military sandbox? Maybe Zelensky and a few other lucky oligarchs, but certainly not the Ukrainians. Friday saw talks between the US and Russia for the first time since May. This is somewhat reassuring. Regardless… I’m officially a single issue voter: will you or will you not vote to send money/weapons to Ukraine? I’d vote for fucking AOC if she vowed to not give another dime to Ukraine and push for a peace settlement. I’d rather be alive in a genderless socialist dystopia than not at all.

The MSM is fully myopic. They can be, because they made their audience myopic. For all of them, free speech now equals harassment.

Potential Mass Layoffs At Twitter Could Cripple Content Moderation (ABC)

Over the course of a monthslong bid to purchase Twitter, Elon Musk has signaled major changes at the platform. As Musk stands poised to acquire the company in the coming weeks, the transformation appears even more far-reaching than some anticipated. In discussions about his plans for the company, in recent months, Musk talked about potential mass layoffs that would reduce the staff by 75%, the Washington Post reported. While details of the potential layoffs remain limited, the move could compromise the platform’s capacity to police false or harmful content, with ramifications that extend to social issues like election integrity, experts told ABC News. The experience of a typical user could change significantly, they added, noting the possible rise of harassment and other forms of corrosive discourse.

Even if Musk’s Twitter deal does not come to fruition, the company’s current management has reportedly planned to cut its payroll by $800 million by the end of next year, the Post reported. A spokesperson for Twitter declined to comment on the report of layoffs but confirmed to ABC News the existence of a company memo to employees obtained by Bloomberg News. “We do not have any confirmation of the buyer’s plans following close and recommend not following rumors or leaked documents but rather wait for facts from us and the buyer directly,” the memo by Twitter General Counsel Sean Edgett said. Speaking at a Twitter all-hands meeting shortly in June, Musk did not rule out downsizing if he were to acquire the company. “Anyone who is a significant contributor should have nothing to worry about,” Musk reportedly told employees, according to tweets from Bloomberg reporter Kurt Wagner.

Cuts to the content moderation workforce would align with statements made by Musk in recent months about his commitment to the principle of free speech, suggesting that Twitter should permit all speech that stops short of violating the law, the experts said. “Content moderation will be a lot harder without people doing content moderation,” Zeve Sanderson, the executive director at New York University’s Center for Social Media and Politics, told ABC News. “If there is more harassment and other forms of toxic speech, if there is more misinformation and disinformation, then people’s experience on the platform is going to be really different,” he added.

Because: Whose circus is it anyway? It’s OUR circus.

Cheney: Trump Won’t Be Allowed To Turn Jan. 6 Testimony Into ‘Circus’ (Hill)

Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) on Sunday said the House select committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol will not allow former President Trump to turn his testimony to the panel into a “circus.” Cheney told moderator Chuck Todd on NBC’s “Meet the Press” that the committee would treat any deposition with the former president with “great seriousness.” “We are going to proceed in terms of the questioning of the former president under oath,” Cheney, one of two Republicans on the panel, said. “It may take multiple days, and it will be done with a level of rigor and discipline and seriousness that it deserves.”

“He’s not going to turn this into a circus. This isn’t going to be first debate against [President] Biden and the circus and the food fight that became,” the lawmaker added. The House committee, which wrapped up its final hearing on the Jan. 6 attack this month, unanimously voted to subpoena Trump before it formally issued a subpoena to the former president. Lawmakers are probing 19 areas of interest, including many covered during the series of hearings the committee held over the summer, in the subpoena. They include potential communications seeking to evaluate former Vice President Mike Pence’s role in certifying the 2020 election as well as efforts to communicate with state lawmakers, election officials and leaders at the Justice Department about the 2020 election.

Hunter Biden’s Laptop Documents At Least 459 Legal Violations (DW)

A year-long exploration of Hunter Biden’s laptop has yielded a 630-page report that its authors say document 459 violations of state and federal laws and regulations by President Joe Biden’s son and his business partners. Marco Polo, a nonprofit formed by a one-time aide to former President Trump to enable a team of cyber gumshoes to take a deep dive into the laptop that the crack-addled Biden left at a Delaware repair store, claims the report is a road map for local, state, or federal prosecutors to pursue charges. The group also sent its report to each member of Congress. The timing of the report’s release, coming two weeks before the midterm elections, has a certain symmetry to the laptop’s initial introduction to the public.

In 2020, days before the election, the New York Post published news of the laptop’s existence, as well as bombshells from it, but social media suppressed the story after the FBI had warned companies of so-called misinformation. This time around, the timing is similar, but other factors are reversed. Legacy outlets have acknowledged that the laptop’s files are authentic, Twitter founder Jack Dorsey admitted that censoring the laptop was a mistake, and the social media platform is being sold to free-speech advocate Elon Musk. The team put together by Garrett Ziegler, Marco Polo’s 26-year-old founder, has mined the laptop with digital savvy, and produced a thorough report that is anything but vague or superficial, weighing in at 1 gigabyte because of the number of screenshots from the laptop.

“I’ve been focusing on this for 13 months,” Ziegler told The Daily Wire. “It was really a thing of necessity. I recognized how rich the material was. It requires utter focus. It is so hard to write something comprehensive about it and do anything else on the side.” “There’s been some phenomenal writing so far on the sex and degeneracy,” he added, but “The focus of the report is on crimes … I had a compulsion to log every crime, even the state-level statutes. The mission is simple: Hold Republicans’ feet to the fire. We don’t want to hear that Republicans need another year to do an investigation. I’ve done that here.” The report, which reviewed the laptop’s emails, videos, calendar items, photographs, phone records, financial documents and more, but also provided context and explanation, serves as a “Rosetta Stone of white- and blue-collar crime under the patina of ‘the Delaware Way,’” the report says.

“Since peaking at 9.5% in 2014, recycling rates have been steadily decreasing..”

Recycling Plastic A ‘Failed Concept’ – Greenpeace (RT)

Plastic recycling has turned out to be a “failed concept” used by global corporations as a “smokescreen,” Greenpeace USA has said, urging companies to focus on abandoning single-use plastic. In a report titled ‘Circular Claims Fall Flat Again’ and released on Monday, the environmental organization stated that of 51 million tons of plastic waste generated by US households in 2021, only 2.4 million tons, or 5%, were recycled. “After more than 30 years, it is time to accept that plastic recycling is a failed concept. Unlike with paper or metals, there are two insurmountable barriers that prevent plastic recycling from ever working at scale: toxicity and economics,” Greenpeace said.

Due to its toxicity, plastic cannot be recycled back into new food-grade plastic products, the organization explained, adding that “the flood of 400 million tons/year of cheap new plastic production kills the business case for large-scale investment in plastic recycling.” The situation is further aggravated by the high costs and complexity of the recycling process, given that different plastics have different characteristics and thus must be treated differently. But, most importantly, the organization said, “thousands of types of synthetic plastic materials produced are fundamentally not recyclable.” Since peaking at 9.5% in 2014, recycling rates have been steadily decreasing, especially since China ceased accepting Western plastic waste in 2018, the report states.

Therefore, Greenpeace urged companies to stop using the “false path” of plastic recycling as “a smokescreen to divert attention from the systemic changes that are needed.” “Instead of continuing on this false path, companies in the US and around the world must urgently phase out single-use plastics by replacing their packaging with reuse and refill systems and offering packaging-free products,” it said. Greenpeace USA senior plastics campaigner Lisa Ramsden told AFP that corporations such as Coca-Cola, PepsiCo, Nestlé and Unilever are some of those that have been promoting recycling for decades but have “shirked all responsibility” for the effectiveness of the process.

Chaos Is As Chaos Does (Jim Kunstler)

Then there’s us, Crazyland, formerly known as the USA, floating the possibility of a nuclear missile exchange, as if that were any kind of workable answer to the completely unnecessary war we instigated in the crossroads of Eurasia. Now, the word is out that a 101st Airborne “Screaming Eagles” strike force is assembling in Romania, next door to Ukraine, for some supposed incursion into the war zone — where there would be a fair chance of them getting slaughtered. Are you serious, Lloyd Austin and Mark Milley, or is this just some new deranged Woke vaudeville act in your continuing effort to humiliate the US Armed Forces?

Factor in, of course, the fast-approaching midterm election, which seems to have driven the “Joe Biden” regime and its Party of Chaos into a fugue of extreme desperation as they face a possibly massive repudiation at the polls that will put them out of business for many election cycles to come — if not permanently — and bring an end to the Wokester-Jacobin freak show. How the Democratic Party became hostage to the worst array of political ideas ever assembled remains a profound mystery. How do they persist supporting a Covid “vaccine” campaign that is now obviously false and dangerous? Is it simply an inability to acknowledge a terrible mistake? Or is it — as things seem — something darker, a deliberate effort to inflict harm on the American people? Kind of looks that way.

Several states quickly and loudly opted out of “vaccine” mandates for schools since the CDC’s advisory committee’s bizarre 15 to 0 vote to include the janky mRNA shots on the childhood “schedule.” How did “JB” & Company imagine that a wide-open border along with big cash gifts to border-jumpers was going to play with the economically sore-beset public? Who imagined that drag queens grinding their junk in children’s faces was a winning ploy? Who told them that Americans would approve of turning the FBI into a Gestapo, barging into politically-targeted households with SWAT teams before dawn? How did they forget that there is a first amendment to the constitution that forbids the government to interfere with freedom of speech? Who is actually behind this insanity?

“Zero Covid Hell”

The Disastrous Effects of the “Zero Covid” Policy in China (Ugo Bardi)

“Eugenic and cultural superiority” Really? Actually, it is not surprising that people, more or less everywhere, see themselves as the best people in the world. The West has a century old tradition of this idea, well expressed by Rudyard Kipling as the “White Man’s Burden.” But I found it hard to believe that the Chinese, intelligent as they are, would not realize the mess in which they find themselves with their insistence on evidently ineffective “Zero Covid” policies. You may have read about people locked shut in their apartments, streets closed by barbed wire, universal masking everywhere, forced testing and vaccination, household pets exterminated, and much more. It is a situation that Eugyppius correctly described as “Zero Covid Hell”. Can’t the Chinese realize that they are being bullied by a government that’s thinking only of its own survival?

And yet, it turns out that Chuck was right, as it is often the case. I realized that all of a sudden, a few days ago, while I was listening to the talk of a Chinese colleague at an online conference. One of the things she said was that the cultural superiority of China over the West is demonstrated by the willingness of Chinese citizens to wear face masks all the time. That doesn’t happen, she said, with the unruly Westerners, who refuse to act in harmony with each other and wear such a simple and completely harmless device as a face mask. She didn’t mention the genetic superiority of the Chinese, but it was just a small step to get there from what she said.

One of those moments in which you feel your painstakingly assembled worldview crumbling around you. Did she really say that? After the conference, I contacted her separately. I asked her if she was sure that face masks are harmless. And I sent to her a link to a peer-reviewed paper showing the many negative effects of masks on health. She answered me very politely, thanking me for the link, and saying that face masks are basically harmless; hence they have to be worn all the time in public. End of the discussion.

Immune escape.

Unvaccinated Children Are ‘Our Only Hope’ For Herd Immunity – Geert (ET)

For nearly two years, vaccine expert and virologist Geert Vanden Bossche has been on a mission to raise awareness of why healthy children should not receive COVID-19 vaccines. Vanden Bossche, who has 30 years of experience in the vaccine industry, claims that it is primarily the unvaccinated children and adults who can generate herd immunity.“The children are our only hope still, to generate herd immunity,” Vanden Bossche told The Epoch Times. “And herd immunity means, thanks to their natural immunity, they can kill the virus, they can sterilize the virus.” It is only herd immunity that “will be able, at the population level, to dramatically reduce infectious pressure and to tame the pandemic so that it can transition into an endemic phase,” he added, since the “vaccines cannot do this.

“On the contrary, the vaccines lead to the breeding of more and more infectious variants, which is enhancing the infectious pressure in the population.”Herd immunity is defined as when a percentage of the population becomes immune to a disease—either through a previous infection or vaccination—which acts to stop or slow down the spread. Yet, vaccines have never significantly contributed to ending influenza pandemics in the past. The virus in each pandemic had largely run its course and became endemic. The 1918 Spanish flu pandemic, caused by the H1N1 virus, began in March 1918 and ended in the summer of 1919 without the use of any vaccines. The 1957 Asian flu (H2N2) pandemic ended in 1958 with limited use of the flu vaccine. And in both the 1968 H3N2 and 2009 H1N1 pandemics, the pandemic had already reached its peak by the time the vaccines were ready, so demand for the vaccines declined.

The COVID-19 pandemic is the first time that mass vaccination is being done in the middle of a pandemic. According to Vanden Bossche, mass vaccination with vaccines cannot prevent infection during a pandemic when there is high infection pressure because it leads to immune escape, a phenomenon where a virus can escape the host’s immune system. The late Nobel laureate and virologist Luc Montagnier was also against vaccinating the entire population during a pandemic. In May 2021, he called the mass vaccination program “a huge scientific error” and that the “history books will show that it is the vaccination that is creating the variants.” Supporters of vaccination allege that the vaccines do not create more variants, arguing that the virus has mutated several times prior to the vaccine roll out in December 2020 and that the benefits of the vaccines outweigh the risks. Vanden Bossche disagrees.

He said that while variants of the SARS-CoV-2 virus can occur naturally, it is the COVID-19 injections that are driving the process. The most important reason why children should not receive a COVID-19 vaccine is to protect their innate immune system from being compromised, according to Vanden Bossche. The innate immune system is the body’s first line of defense against foreign pathogens. Children are “equipped with a special kind of antibodies that we call innate antibodies,” Vanden Bossche said in a video this summer, which “only lasts for some time during childhood and after that they disappear.” “These innate antibodies have an incredibly important function because they will help the child to kick off its own immune system,” he said, adding that these antibodies may be able to neutralize SARS-CoV-2 and many other viruses that are encountered.

Thanks for the good homework, good writing and good perspective, Polemos. What you wrote is complimentary to what I wrote to Noirette about inflammatory conditions and COVID-19 risk factors for morbidity/mortality.
“General health” turns out to involve a whole lot of specifics.

“Harmonizing Concepts” post is up, with a photo of our first developing stalk of (Nam Wah) bananas.
Some redundancy with TAE (sorry). https://drjohnsblog.substack.com/p/harmonizing-concepts

The unifying theme, if any, to the news links today is that we are in a world undergoing rapid change, after three centuries of industrialization driven by fossil fuels, mining, and advances in mechanical, then electrical and electronic technology. Our human numbers are multiplied by ten in that time, while the number of wild animals is much less than a tenth of what it was. The climate of earth is different, and changing, and there is a lot of pollution of many kinds, including in our processed foods.
I am not scare-mongering about climate and pollution. We just need to cope and adapt.
When we look at geological epochs, inhabited by life-forms, we see that mammals are pretty adaptable. We are unusually adaptable mammals.
What we may rightly fear is that a lot of us won’t make the transition. None of us lives very long, but we don’t want to freeze and starve to death or be murdered in war. The elites of human societies walk upon a raft of the rest of us, who are treading water. Their interests naturally differ from our interests. They want to walk, not to tread-water.
As our interests diverge, we must look to our own near term and longer term survival within a new context of less energy and more localization. We have the same human needs. We need to secure the means of providing our food, water, shelter, fuel and community.
The elites control us through narratives which are usually false, or at least misleading. We see that in the COVID-pandemic control-narratives, which did not beat the pandemic, but actually increased human deaths, denying effective antiviral treatments, then pushing “vaccines” which kill more than save.
We now see Nuclear War as the next control-narrative. It’s powerful and desperate, very risky, but the real war is the war of financial systems, between the western banking and military system, which shifted to the $US around WW-2. The new competitor, the BRICS system, is not based upon debt, but upon physical goods: oil, gold, wheat and other-commodities. A debt based monetary system requires trust that debts will be repaid, which is evaporating. There is fear of reprisal for leaving the system, but the Russian army going against NATO forces in Syria, now Ukraine, is reducing that concern. It is a critical last stand for the $US empire. Russia must be openly punished to sustain the western financial system. Tributary countries are already quietly backing away…

This detailed essay looks at each aspect of the current wars of global reset, which I briefly alluded to in the introduction.
I pick one excerpt about the financial warfare between American and European banking interests, which is not much discussed.
US banking and economy profit greatly from reserve-currency status, a cornucopia of free(ish) stuff from the whole world.
Whichever side is losing or winning should consider a deal with the BRICS system, ahead of the competing western-banking interests. Europe is now a banking-war zone.
The Many Interwoven ‘Wars’ – A Rough Guide Through the Fog , Alastair Crooke
The Fed may keep raising rates for some time – even at the price of some market, hedge fund and small business collapse. Powell has the support of certain big New York banks who see the writing on the wall for the liberal-woke model: An end to their banking business as bailouts go digital and are paid straight into claimants’ bank accounts (as Governor Lael Brainard has proposed).
Powell says little (he is likely to stay clear of partisan U.S. politics at this sensitive moment).
The Fed however, may be attempting to implement a contrarian, controlled demolition of the U.S. bubble-economy, orientated precisely to haul America back onto more traditional financial tracks. To break the ‘leveraged-asset culture’ … You begin to resolve the huge societal inequality divide that the Fed has helped create, through QE facilitating giant asset bubbles … You begin to rejuvenate an American economy by ending the distortions. You dissipate the urge toward civil war because the issue no longer becomes just between ‘haves’ and the ‘have nots’.
This vision may itself be a tad utopian, yet break the ‘everything bubble’, break the leverage culture, and it stops the ratchetting extreme of bubble beneficiaries versus 18 straight months of U.S. falling real wages.
But … but this is only possible if nothing systemic breaks.

I am told that the US military has taken their important chip manufacturing lines out of Taiwan already this summer, and that critical Taiwanese manufacturing plants have been prepared for quick explosive demolition by company workers, which would avoid civilian casualties from American military attacks to deny them to China in the event of invasion.
Other critical manufacturing lines may move to the US, Japan, even India, but the global monopoly on chip manufacturing, which is embodied in TSMC cannot move. It is a uniquely Taiwanese manufacturing economy and global supply chain node.
As of right now, the West’s goal is to break up Taiwan’s chip hub, though, as we noted earlier, TSMC’s Chang warned that any such move would fail.
However, TSMC customers are already looking to diversify production out of the region, as explained by Sebastian Hou, managing director at Neuberger Berman, an investment management company:
”There have been some concerns among TSMC customers since two years ago … It was the time when in Taiwan we started to have more fighter jets from China hovering around the Taiwan Strait, and that has become a daily routine.”
So far, those customers include Qualcomm and Nvidia, who have recently stated that some chip production from TSMC’s facilities would be shifted elsewhere.
Hanbury said the big question would be if Apple changes manufacturing partners due to the increasing risks in the Taiwan Strait.
”Taiwan’s monopoly in semiconductor production creates instability,” Brad Martin, director of the National Security Supply Chain Institute at the Rand Corporation, said. “If the US is faced with a need to make a decision between protecting its economy and defending Taiwan, that starts to become a very stark decision.”

Sorry for so many separate posts. I’m eliminating redundancy and keeping it simple so I can upload.

This Biden-corruption may be the point around which a transfer of power may be negotiated after US midterms.
It is feasible to scapegoat the Biden family for “mistakes made” and have a national policy pivot away from so many currently failing policies. This cannot actually happen without so many special-interests and deep-state players getting taken-care-of that it is hard to envision. Still, in history changes do come, and they tend to come in big packages after a long period of systemic stagnation, so it would be timely. A power-transition can’t happen without a lot of serious deal-making, and some losers. Nobody wants to lose.
A year-long exploration of Hunter Biden’s laptop has yielded a 630-page report that its authors say document 459 violations of state and federal laws and regulations by President Joe Biden’s son and his business partners.

Professor Ugo Bardi does not focus on human evolution, or climate change here, but on the evolution of forest ecosystems over hundreds of millions of years, which happens to include a lot of those finer points, but does not get distracted by them. There is a lot of useful information integrated into this work of revelatory insight.
The Great Cycle of Earth’s Forests
A forest is a magnificent, structured, and functional entity where the individual elements — trees — work together to ensure the survival of the ensemble. Each tree pumps water and nutrients all the way to the crown by the mechanism called evapotranspiration. The condensation of the evaporated water triggers the phenomenon called the “biotic pump” that benefits all the trees by pumping water from the sea. Each tree pumps down the carbohydrates it manufactures using photosynthesis to its mycorrhizal space, the underground system of roots and fungi that extracts mineral nutrients for the tree. The whole “rhizosphere” — the root space — forms a giant brain-like network that connects the trees to each other, sometimes termed “the Wood Wide Web.” It is an optimized environment where almost everything is recycled...

BREAKING: New York Supreme Court reinstates all employees fired for being unvaccinated, orders backpay

Wow, it’s about f’n time the “narrative” moves back towards reality.

Meanwhile in covidian cult land –

CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices voted unanimously on Thursday to add COVID shots to its recommended schedule of vaccinations for children and adults.

The vaccine schedule now calls for children to begin Covid mRNA shots when they are 6 months old. After a brief comment period, the panel of medical specialists voted with 15 in favor and none against.

6 months old – murderous. “My Body My Choice” for Liberals I guess. Abortions on demand, forced injections into babies, drag queen story time for adolescents, sex mutilations for teens…

Biden gets new COVID vaccine, announces new virus initiatives
In the coming weeks, Walgreens will team up with DoorDash and Uber “to provide free delivery of prescriptions of Paxlovid, an oral COVID-19 treatment, directly to the doorsteps of Americans living in underserved communities,” the White House said.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services will launch what the Biden administration is calling the “#VaxUpAmerica Family Vaccine Tour,” with pop-up COVID-19 vaccination events — including at the 2022 NASCAR Cup Series Championship in Arizona next month — and the distribution of vaccination “toolkits” to daycares, nursing homes, community health centers and other locations. The Biden administration will also encourage schools, businesses and other organizations around the country to host their own vaccination events, according to the White House.

It wasn’t until I read Richard Powers’ The Overstory that I learned how much of the animal biomass on the earth are the cultivated animals humans eat and not the wild ones I used to think were “out there” in the wild. It’s an amazing story, very well-written and mind-expanding, and ends in a place I recognize as dawning upon us in a dangerous way. (A part of the march of technological progress: tools enabling humanity to listen to those they didn’t know had voices. Another part: means to silence and render voiceless those others)

    Another paper to examine:
    The biomass distribution on Earth

Today, the biomass of humans (≈0.06 Gt C; SI Appendix, Table S9) and the biomass of livestock (≈0.1 Gt C, dominated by cattle and pigs; SI Appendix, Table S10) far surpass that of wild mammals, which has a mass of ≈0.007 Gt C (SI Appendix, Table S11). This is also true for wild and domesticated birds, for which the biomass of domesticated poultry (≈0.005 Gt C, dominated by chickens) is about threefold higher than that of wild birds (≈0.002 Gt C; SI Appendix, Table S12). In fact, humans and livestock outweigh all vertebrates combined, with the exception of fish. Even though humans and livestock dominate mammalian biomass, they are a small fraction of the ≈2 Gt C of animal biomass, which primarily comprises arthropods (≈1 Gt C; SI Appendix, Tables S13 and
S14), followed by fish (≈0.7 Gt C; SI Appendix, Table S15).

—those are units “gigatons of carbon”, where a gigaton is 10^15g of C. Pretty wild insight.

And now for something completely different. Germ’s posting regarding the sudden cardiac event of Ashton Carter connects in my speculative mode with the long-standing fact that the CIA and other national-criminal-intelligence operations sought to disable targets through means indistinguishable from heart attacks. Not that I’m saying someone assassinated Carter, but it suddenly occurs to me that in a situation where larger numbers of people are more frequently “dying suddenly” is both accepted (as reality) and unacceptable (to talk about, like with the Emperor’s nakedness), it’s entirely possible to start disappearing all the influential people —especially the “little people” with strong social connections in various communities— you do not want standing in the way of your criminal intelligence operations. They’ll “die suddenly” in the midst of their ordinary, struggling lives, and those who could make the right connections will immediately latch onto “See! Another convid death jabbed, vax shed tragedy!” and Look No Further because they’ve confirmed their working model, and those who could receive those tight connections will immediately lament the death and Look No Further from subliminal fear about learning anymore of the suppressed truths, what it means for their own struggling health. And were an autopsy done that shows it wasn’t vax shed death jab, but a regular ol’ heart attack, a sudden event of inexplicable sorrow? —the connector doubles-down and cites the conspiracy to hide jab deaths; the conformer doubles-down and cites the science so recently adopted. And the criminal intelligence operation carries on, boots already laced and stamping down faces.

An Agatha Christie story, writ large. I know I’m not the only one who watched the recent Marvel movies and noticed that Hydra, having collected together all of the informational access available to them, figured out all the right people to kill using the weapons the “good guys” built to fight terrorists. I keep coming back to a favorite, Chapter 10: “Broken Suitcases” or “Cutting Open Satchels”

In taking precautions against thieves who cut open satchels, search bags, and break open boxes, people are sure to cord and fasten them well, and to employ strong bonds and clasps; and in this they are ordinarily said to show their wisdom. When a great thief comes, however, he shoulders the box, lifts up the satchel, carries off the bag, and runs away with them, afraid only that the cords, bonds, and clasps may not be secure; and in this case what was called the wisdom (of the owners) proves to be nothing but a collecting of the things for the great thief.
Let me try and set this matter forth. Do not those who are vulgarly called wise prove to be collectors for the great thieves? And do not those who are called sages prove to be but guardians in the interest of the great thieves? How do I know that the case is so?
Formerly, in the state of Qi, the neighbouring towns could see one another; their cocks and dogs never ceased to answer the crowing and barking of other cocks and dogs (between them). The nets were set (in the water and on the land); and the ploughs and hoes were employed over more than a space of two thousand li square. All within its four boundaries, the establishment of the ancestral temples and of the altars of the land and grain, and the ordering of the hamlets and houses, and of every corner in the districts, large, medium, and small, were in all particulars according to the rules of the sages. So it was; but yet one morning, Tian Cheng-zi killed the ruler of Qi, and stole his state. And was it only the state that he stole? Along with it he stole also the regulations of the sages and wise men (observed in it).
And so, though he got the name of being a thief and a robber, yet he himself continued to live as securely as Yao and Shun had done. Small states did not dare to find fault with him; great states did not dare to take him off; for twelve generations (his descendants) have possessed the state of Qi. Thus do we not have a case in which not only did (the party) steal the state of Qi, but at the same time the regulations of its sages and wise men, which thereby served to guard the person of him, thief and robber as he was?

This also links back to the Adam Curtis documentary I linked to before, Can’t Get You Out of My Head. Near the end, Curtis brings into his beautiful narrative the story how September 11 gifted a struggling run-from-the-garage Google and the criminal intelligence operation with a marriage made in death. Suddenly, having intimate knowledge of people’s habits and automatic behaviors in “gathering information” (just being themselves) was a necessity in discerning where the next terrorist event was going to happen.
So, we are at a time when sudden deaths of influential people fit into pre-established narratives, further canalizing people’s thinking and responding into pre-determined acceptable routes. Your Good Guy Team brooks no nuance, no dissent: look how easily people write off this weirdo precisely because he doesn’t fit either side —he’s instantly on the enemy’s side. You will see from “the Left” and from “the Right”, from the people punching Up and the people stomping Down, because no one wants to hear nonsense masquerading as wisdom. “We’re all benevolent and righteous in here.” Yet they are dying, silently or on stages, in videos closed in circuits or broadcast live, like candles in churches pinched in shadows.

Stats clearly show that in the USA, being black (vs. white) means you are likely to suffer more medical issues (many undiagnosed, untreated, ignored..imho) and, certainly, as all stats show, to die *far earlier* than whites.

Okay, for the sake of this discussion I will assume that this is a fact. See, you have just done what I said. You state the fact that black people die young using statistics. Why is your fact true and my fact not true?

Is this the result of black skin or black hair or black genes? I don’t think even aspnaz would say so. The causes are clearly broadly sociological, higher poverty rates, less med. insurance / coverage, jobs that expose them to more risk, living in bad conditions, poorer diet, etc. The cause is historical, not part of the decription of the present. (Slavery, prejudice, etc.) No med. rationale exists.

Now you state your theory as to the causes. The causes are a whole different discussion, but the fact is the result of an analysis of statistics, the statistics tell you what is happening, they do not tell you why. The reality is that fat people suffer more medical issues and die earlier, whether you like that fact or not is kind of irrelevant. Why that happens to fat people is also kind of irrelevant to the fact that it does happen.

I asked a serious question yesterday, apparently it didn’t even warrant even a passing comment/insult:

    https://ktla.com/news/california/this-is-how-california-could-better-approach-the-homelessness-crisis-homeless-advocate-says/

I’m curious what the TAE commentariat postulates is/are the “symptom of a broader issue(s)”?

    Possible pathognomonic/correlation?

I await TAE’s careful, measured response ~ I will not comment further (on this topic, was interested in others’ take on the matter)…

Well, I see the usual gabfest is in full swing, interspersed with the usual *SPAM* self-obsessed opinions, rants, reposting, approval seeking noise & warmonger titillations 😐

There is also that flat out ribald comments from certain recent TAE regulars, who apparently due to popularity get a pass for their unseemly behavior…

Perhaps, most TAE regulars just skim the punditry & bypass certain posters altogether, as I began to do 6+ months ago ~ I’ll just serenely accept that I too have achieved persona non grata parameters, I am more & more aware that serious discussion that was once a hallmark on TAE has attained the echo chamber/book burning phenom of social media…

Here’s a thought for all you bellicose war hawks:

Gerald the Fearless ~ He was a man of rank, who, in order to avoid the legal punishment to which several crimes rendered him obnoxious, put himself at the head of a party of freebooters.

Tiring, however, of that life, he resolved to reconcile himself to his sovereign by some noble action.

Full of this idea, one evening he entered Évora, which then belonged to the Moors. In the night he killed the sentinels of one of the gates, which he opened to his companions, who soon became masters of the place.

This exploit had its desired effect. The king pardoned Gerald, and made him governor of Évora.

A knight (legalized psychopath) with a sword in one hand, and two heads in the other, from that time became the armorial bearing of the city.

P.S. Excessive body fat percentage is a known medical precursor to many illnesses (including compromised immunity status), primarily due to excessive inflammation within multiple bodily systems ~ Back when when the C19 bioweapon was all-the-rage on TAE, we purviewed innumerous studies, papers & publications that examined/cautioned inherent risks involved with obesity, appertaining C19, just one of the EG0ic/Spiritual maladies rampant in The West 😐

What is the medical explanation, beyond the social stereotype? That is what I meant was missing.

Understand. Despite exercising every day, I am overweight mostly (I guess) because I am a beer drinker. I eat well – no processed food – and am fit and yes, I can hike up a mountain but will not win any running races. But, I also recognise that my beer gut may well do me in. There is no point in hiding from the reality that I have a higher chance of death if my BMI is too high. I do not have a problem with people chosing to be fat, what I do have a problem with is said fat people (like me) preaching to others about their health (telling us to care about our health when they appear to not hold health as a priority) and/or denying the reality. Denial just encourages others to not take responsibility for their weight, that is a bad thing to do, in my opinion.

I am interested in the game but not a supporter of either team.
I am surrounded by one-eyed supporters of black team which started fairly well but now at half time are not looking so great but their supporters are up out of their seats cheering and hollering.

Just prior to the opening of the 20th Party Congress there was a public denunciation of the government’s failure to correct its zero-Covid policies. On October 13th two banners were unfurled at Beijing’s Sitong Overpass and a smoking fire was set to attract attention. The banners were accompanied by a loudspeaker demanding a change of government. The description of the current officeholder as a 国贼 (guózéi, meaning country + thief) was not very flattering.

    The first banner read:

We want food, not PCR tests
    Freedom, not lockdowns
    Dignity, not lies
    Reform, not cultural revolution

“Do you have to make your own model of “reality”?
I find that just about everybody else’s predictions of the war situation have been so wrong I now prefer to do my own analysis mostly based on historical events. The simplified story is this , Russia want to expand and maintain it’s empire , it’s own build back better . The West wants to expand and maintain it’s empire . This has been happening for millenia.
The present events are the results of passed events. To understand the present events one must look at that past. So I look at the past and draw conclusions about the present and future. I find it appalling how so many people on all sides of the situation just listen to the commentators that meet their own biases and then grovel and thank them about how wonderful and enlightening there analysis is without ever offering any thoughts or ideas of their own. If my analysis proves wrong then I will go with the facts, I like to ask questions and then wait for the answers to materialise. Can Russia win , whatever winning is , I don’t know , I have been putting up comments as to what might be in play , what might influence the result , let’s watch and see.
If TAE was the opposite to what it is now , if it was totally pro-west , I would probably be putting up pro-Russian comments.
Regarding your comments about the moral superiority of the BRICS , I see South Africa and China as some of the most morally bankrupt countries in the world. Recently half of the country , SA ,went on a murderous riot , looting and pillaging because it’s leader was busted for stealing billions of dollars. They were protesting FOR him , not against him . Murder of whites is now government sanctioned and violent crime is through the roof . What is there about that that we should want to emulate?
Do you think that Chinese are more free than Americans or Australians? I think you along with many TAE folk digest way too much ant-western propaganda on a daily basis . The West is not perfect but I would not swap my bolthole here for one in South Africa , China or Brazil or that shit-hole India where a billion people still shit outside in the parks and beaches and roads daily.
The BRICS people are still fighting to migrate West , not the other way around. The fact that those countries have not been warring and building an empire like the West is , is because they have no capability to do it , not that they would not if they could.
That is exactly why the BRICS exist to form a power block of their own . If they thought they could build an empire as individual countries like Russia and China are trying to do , they would already be doing that. To think otherwise is naive and childlike in my opinion. The world has always been like it is now with wars and shit coming down but now is still the best of times.

That is where you differ from a lot of TAE, including myself: we are struggling to determine/discover the knowable facts first then use logic to make a guess at what is happening, our analysis. Your way, look at history and see if you can guess the future, would probably be improved by including knowable facts and discarding your unknowable facts. Going with the facts only after being proven wrong seems pointless – you can’t unjab yourself, you can’t un-nuke a city – especially as I suspect you are a person loathe to admit you were ever wrong.

: I did not intend to impute any moral superiority to China or South Africa, nor to India, for that matter. (You have spent more time in India than I have, but I have traveled there extensively twice.)
I did point out that the current role that the BRICS group aspires to, having a more egalitarian and fair currency, backed by gold, oil, grains and other commodities, is a better deal for those who might use it. This is the role that the $US filled after WW-2. It was all of those things and replaced the UK pound-sterling, a fiat currency for much of the period between the wars.
When a new system replaces an empire it has to offer a much better deal to participants. Darius the Persian and Alexander the Great declared all slaves to be free in the cities they besieged. Lincoln did the same, but only in the South, not the North…
I expect any new monetary regime to be corrupted in time. It’s a pattern, but it’s still a good deal when it’s new, and less neo-colonial, so still the right thing to reduce the blood-meals of the parasitic class, who thoroughly own the system by now.
I hope the human world gets a good 12-15 years of practical and efficient adaptive-change in the new financial system.
We have really been trapped in the current regime and it’s a bad time to not be able to move and change and adapt.

@Zerosum: Whoopi Goldberg took some flak for comments she made in February that “The Holocaust isn’t about race”. She is black and Jewish, so I hope that approaches an answer to your question.

“Can a non-white person make a comment about white supremacist/racism/jews and be called a racist and be punished?”

It looks as though the attackers are messing with the rt certificates, setting the expiry date to today. Keep trying and you may be directed to a different server, one that contains the valid certificate.

You wrote: “…it’s entirely possible to start disappearing all the influential people —especially the “little people” with strong social connections in various communities— you do not want standing in the way of your criminal intelligence operations.”

Smartest observation on the internet AND the phenomenon comes with added value to the perpetrators that the victims/targets as they lament the abusive deracination look like paranoid schizophrenics to their friends, family and countrymen.

Veracious Poet, you comment often about the egocentrism of Western people and criticize others for their self-obsessions, but then start talking about how you’re ignored and resign yourself to the inattention of others. You comment that others spam and repost repostings and won’t give into serious discussion, but you frequently post memes anyone easily finds on Facebook or Reddit were we on either while also openly stating you have no interest in reading things from others’ points of view.

This is what I observe, before I started posting and after I’ve waded in. I appreciate your perspective, and I hope you live up to the standards you hold to others. My low standard is just this: be your own. If this is who you are, please don’t take it too personally when others see you as what you are. I say this with love: notice I’m not calling you names, insulting your heritage, or mocking your style. Be your own, modeling your best. If the standards by which you judge others makes you out to be your own sort of villain, then that’s no one’s fault but . . .

Regarding the order rescinding the mandate:
Here is the ruling itself. Here’s an important section:

The Mayor, in issuing Executive ORder No. 62, made a different decision for similarly situated people based on identical facts. There is nothing in the record to support the rationality of keeping a vaccination mandate for public employees, while vacating the mandate for private sector employees or creating a carveout for cerain professions, like athletes, artists, and performers. This is clearly an arbitrary and capricious action because we are dealing with identical unvaccinated people being treated differently by the same administrative agency. […]
Though not raised in the initial filing, this Court considered the fact that all but one of the Petitioners applied for exemptions from the mandate. They received generalized and vague denials. During that time their exemptions were being processed, they remained unvaccinated. There was no reason that they could not continue to submit to testing and continue to fulfill their duties as public employees. There was no reason why the City of New York could not continue with a vaccinate or test policy, like the Mayor’s Executive ORder that was issued in August 2021.
The Court finds that in light of the foregoing, the vaccination mandates for public employees and private employees is arbitrary and capricious. There was nothing demonstrated in the record as to why there was a vaccination mandate issued for only public employees in October 2021. This Court notes that Covid-19 rates were averaging under 1,500 per day in October 2021, significanly lower than today’s average Covid-19 rates. There was nothing demonstrated in the record as to why the private sector mandate was issued months later in December 2021. There was nothing demonstrated in the record as to why exemptions were issued for certain professions in March 2022 under Executive Order No. 62. There was nothing demonstrated in the record as to why employees were kept at full duty during the months-long pendency of their exemption appeals. There was nothing demonstrated in the record as to why a titer was not an acceptable alternative to vaccination, other than a single CDC study entitled “New CDC Study: Vaccination Offers Higher Protection than Previous Covid-19 Infection” which was issued in August 6, 2021.
Though vaccination should be encouraged, public employees should not have been terminated for their noncompliance. Over 79% of the population in New York City are vaccinated. These unvaccinated employees were kept at full duty while their exemptions were pending. Based upon the Petitioners’ vague denials of their exemptions, the fact they were kept at full duty for several months while their exemptions were pending, the Mayor’s Executive Order granting exemptions to certain classes of people, and the lifting of the private sector mandate, this Court finds the Commissioner’s Orders of October 20, 2021 and December 13, 2021, as well as the Mayor’s Executive Order No. 62 to be arbitrary and capricious.

The logic of this section indicates that if NYC or any other governmental body in the District wants to instate a mandate again, then they’ll have to come down hard, fast, and unilaterally on everyone, at once, and with no exemptions, no partial duty status, and a uniform due process procedure that’s the same for everyone, public or private. As the Court notices, the (reported) rates of infection now are higher than they were when the mandate ordered all employees to “show proof of at least one dose of vaccination against Covid-19,” showing on the one hand the capriciousness of the government’s behavior but on the other lending urgency to force the mandate better. On this note, it’s worth noting that the arguments in the decision regarding the Separation of Powers indicates that the legislative path towards a vaccination mandate is wide open: New York has to enact laws either giving the Health Commissioner the authority to impose permanent conditions of employment (can’t do it under the “temporary” [Court’s emphasis in the decision] state of emergency) or making it law, not executive action, that all citizens vaccinate.

Dr D Rich, a corollary of the observation, though, is that if we’re still around to notice it, we’re not so influential as to be a threat. 😕

Thanks for all the responses to my “why obese ppl > more covid bad outcomes = not solid” apsnaz, Polemos (thx for articles), Dr. Day. Still, there may be interaction(s) between phisiological processes and social ones, e.g. disaproving of ppl who have a ‘bad lifestyle’ (hating on fatties is not permitted openly in public but can act in secret, so it is couched in more roundabout terms..), or simply holding the belief that very overweight ppl are less likely to survive, as the The Science is Fixed – very creepy pronouncement – turns into a self-fulfilling prophecy, they are (were) intubated more often, written off more often, etc.
