Doubt! …and then investigate…………………I appreciated the piece from the Mises Institute writer about total deaths compared to recent years past. The most striking feature of the graph-lines he presented was the way the excess mortality literally fell off a cliff shortly after New Years Day 2021 and fell to slightly below the average for recent years by Easter Weekend. Absolute excess mortality is probably the best metric to use for making the case that McMaken presents because it’s the one with which you can’t really argue.

Just poking around on the Internet over the past few weeks has given me a serious appreciation of what a golden age of medical pharmacology the second half of the twentieth century really was. Another example of this are the three oral medications for type 2 diabetes that have allowed me to have a quality of life for a halfway-decent cost for the past decade that I otherwise would not have known. It’s very distressing to fully realize how the lust for power and money of our ruling establishment prevents ordinary people from benefiting from these amazing advances. My favorite example of this is the absolutely criminal prices that Big Pharma charges for mealtime insulin that people with advanced diabetes need to live. It costs only six dollars to make a standard vial of this insulin, yet Big Pharma kills countless diabetics every year by charging prices upward of 600 dollars a vial. No other country in the world does this to its diabetic population, not even Evil Russia. But a lot of people who have died of Covid have been diabetics or pre-diabetics, so perhaps America’s oligarchy just hates the country’s diabetic population. Nevermind the fact that it was this same oligarchy that flooded our food-supply with high fructose corn syrup starting in the eighties, which has a lot to do with why our rates of type 2 diabetes surged after 1990! I watched the interview last night and felt many of the points being made were valid but I will dig much deeper. The idea of the few setting the agenda for the many and the resulting loss of freedoms, the idea of centralization especially into cities to support the industrialization of our economies resulting in disconnection with nature and destruction of community and loss of knowledge of how to live in ways that are sustainable. I think the Mennonites and Amish are good examples of what is sustainable but too much religious control for my tastes. In general I feel the way we are currently living and how we have allowed a small fraction of the population to amass such wealth is the problem.

The deaths via insulin prices and such wildly overwhelm Covid deaths over the years. No one cares. They’re still awesome, trusted, experts, we ask their advice on everything, read them breathlessly. Low-fat cholesterol. Statin drugs. Roundup is safe as water. Then Pfizer pays another small fine for killing another 10,000 people in some new “mistake” every year, and we can’t get enough. Next year’s the same. So who’s really the fault, the criminal here? Someone who killed your kids and you call him up to be babysitter again this week because you just can’t find someone else?

A good example of why I usually skip over this guy’s rants. Something like half of what he says makes me blurt out, “WTF are you even talking about???”
My note on the similarity between long-haul lyme and long-haul covid might be relevant to the article on physiotherapists treating covid, since lyme does a real number on joints and ligaments. I am currently playing with collagen and vitamin c treatment for my dog that was lamed by lyme. Oh permaculture! Yes there are many who talk the talk but don’t walk the walk. On anything bigger than a household level in a climate zone like mine (zone 5) it is not feasible unless you have an army of slaves to do your weeding, soil amending, digging etc. If you have wildlife pressures, you will need to net, and nets are not easily installed when your plants of all sorts are intermixed. What we do is we have areas of mixed plantings interspersed with rows of just one type of plant. The mixed plantings rows are fair game for the critters, while the single-plant-type rows are for us and get netted. We have about 40 grapevines, 400 row feet of raspberries, 80 haskaps, 10 plum trees, 15 cherry shrubs, 20 hazelnut shrubs, about 20 apple and pear trees, 20 black currant shrubs, a few pawpaw’s and persimmons. Because we do not have an army of slaves (just me and my better half, we plant everything in polypropylene. It is permanent (in place for many years). We roll it back for part of the season to expose the soil, then reinstall it during peak grass growth time.
A point not to be missed in the article about the Harvard medical professor is that he does advocate social distancing. He says that wearing a mask gives a false sense of security and that masked people do not maintain social distance.

RE: T2 Diabetes relief…
Yes, quite possible and not all that difficult. My wife did it, and eats less protein than when she started, was diag’d pre-T2 about 16 yrs ago. It’s mostly taking conscious control of your diet and exercise. She’s Asian, and comes from a rice/noodles culture, family well enough to have a chauffeur (middle-class thing in Jakarta). She switched first to brown rice, then to quinoa. Lots of veggies, real whole-grain breads (if at all), NO SODA OR JUICE! We’ve both switched to sparkly water, and don’t miss the sugar.

What’s the difference? But again you need to assess with your own eyes. I live in the city, you have biden/harris signs still in yards even though the election was last November. They have seen 350 vaxxed patients, and according to the stats from this one facility that is ‘significant’ (statistically so he means), i.e. the vax has something to do with, is related to ‘infection.’ They saw 46 patients who fell ill after the first dose …Also from his numbers, he reckons the ‘protection’ afforded by the vax is around 50%, which he says is congruent with the literature if one reads it carefully. (Ok..) Those two points sound contradictory but aren’t…

Full disclosure: I’m probably the only person here who voted for Biden/ Harris, and I pretty much had three clothespins on my nose when I did so. I could go into my policy reasons for my reluctant decision, but I don’t at all feel like arguing about any of those. The “ueber-reason” was that the religious right, my old nemesis from the anti-LGBT culture-wars of the eighties and nineties, was becoming the most powerful and motivated faction in Trump’s broad and janky coalition, and it was difficult not to view this development with alarm. And I suppose I also kind of let Marianne Williamson and Contrapoints (YouTuber Natalie Wynn) cajole me into it.
Though if a working-class person voted for Trump because of the disastrous economic effect of that stupid, terrible lockdown-response to Covid promoted by the blue-state-big-city establishment, to be completely honest, I couldn’t blame them at all for that. I’m already starting to feel as though I might have miscasted my vote. (I appreciated Biden’s big speech last month, but I am dubious at best at how many of those big plans are really going to happen.) I can imagine myself shaking my head and wondering why I did that as soon as January of next year. I came so close to just casting my vote for a third party as I did in 2016 that for a few weeks after the election, I actually told people on the Internet that this is what I did.
I didn’t vote, what if trump was just a stooge to discredit all ideas that have held sway in the past. Someone to make the “great reset” seem more preferable. I do not know these things, what i do know is that what i’m told isn’t the truth.

Regarding AZ 2020 election…I’m wondering about the vote tally receipts from the machines? I was a poll worker here in 2003. At the end of the day, once the ballots are counted, they print a receipt with the vote tally. Unless the machines are different ones than 17 years ago, and have built in cell service, they are not linked to the internet while at the poll location. It does look like this is a hot mess.

Hmm..I like permaculture and animals…I wonder how many of the “bunny huggers” have actually had to deal with animal pests. I would have no qualms about pouring boiling water on ants…although my favorite way of dealing with them in the house is a vacuum and caulking to plug up where they entered. How is boiling water significantly different than diatomaceous earth, which cuts ants? I often get bit by ants while gardening…it’s awful. And rats are cute, but the damage they inflict to my home is not, and they are not so easy to remove.
Permaculture, like most things, (like critical race theory, like Covid fear,) can be taken too far and turn into a nonsensical religion of sorts.
In Phoenix, I wouldn’t use plastic as a weed cloth — it would get destroyed too quickly by the intense sun here. In the summer, weed cloth isn’t necessary at all. All that needs to be done is to get the water only to the plants you want to have survive the summer. Everything else (that isn’t desert adapted, such as cactus, and even some of those don’t make it) dries out and dies before the monsoons hit in late June (about the time of the summer solstice.) Most things still need water help during the monsoons, due to the high heat. (Last year…the monsoon rain never came.) In every clime, agriculture runs at optimal efficiency when fine-tuned to the local climate.
The peaches have just ripened. I may have finally found a micro-climate in my garden amenable to strawberries — they are doing swimmingly, but will have to see if they can survive the summer in this location. The sunflowers are beginning to bloom; the calendula is drying out and the iris blooms have faded. Jasmine is a riot of scented flowers. Tomatoes are setting and growing — they have limited time for this before the heat becomes intense and they go into semi-dormancy over the summer. The roses and bougainvillea need major trimming. The almond tree is finally producing — looks like I’ll get a handful this year — and a few apples and apricots as well from bare root trees just on their second year here. The irrigation is just about ready for the hot summer ahead…still a drip at one of the sprinkler valves that needs to be resolved.

When not at stores with my children (have to cya due to their father) domestic partner and I are not wearing masks. Oh, I have one with me, in case a store employee decides to confront me…it isn’t efficient to leave without what I came for. So far, no one has said anything. The gentleman ahead of us in line at the thrift store also wore no mask. We got talking…he’d already had it, he explained. So have we.
Just doing our part to stop the Covid insanity.

Jaap van Dissel (our Tony Fauci) was very much against face masks last year for exactly the same reason and made a point of arguing against them. He was overruled in the autumn by the Prime Minister who takes his marching orders from Mutti Merkel and, increasingly, Ursula von der Leyen. Needless to say, the case rate ramped away almost immediately after that.

Everything has been down hill since 9/11. Did we have peak cheap oil around that time? Who were the presidents right before and right after?
