Amazing animals’; slandered for decades…even by me…
…but that was before I knew better…I’m sure “decoupling” money, finance, debt, all that “abstract” stuff, from real world physicality will work out just fine. Reality is so last century. And who needs all that dirty stuff like oil and lithium and soil when we have iphones and Teslas and TikToc and Cheese Doodles and windmills.
Here’s something that puzzles me: “U.S. imports from Russia averaged 538,000 barrels a day in 2020—more than the 522,000-barrel-a-day average from Saudi Arabia..” Bloomberg Business Week, March 24, 2021
So, we are putting sanctions on the country that is our 3rd leading supplier of oil? It seems to me that Russia could rather easily find other buyers for these half a million barrels a day–China, for instance–if push comes to shove. Or is the plan to roll a few tanks over the border, put up a green zone around the Kremlin, and take over the Russian oil fields? Another idea that should work out just fine.
On the Covid front, it really is astounding how just about every single person I have talked to in my little sphere has virtually zero hesitancy about getting vaccinated. In fact, despite being older than most of them, I now only know one person who has not been vaccinated and doe not plan to be. (It’s not exactly comforting that he has drifted heavily into conspiracy waters, which I avoid.)
Last night a friend held a reopening for his pub restaurant and it was well-attended, the biggest indoor crowd I’ve seen in a while. He installed an air ventilation system that supposedly zaps “98% of pathogens” from the incoming fresh air before circulating. But he has had this since mid-July, and had to close in December because there were simply not enough people willing to come out. Now that the vaccine is here, everybody is fancy free.
But I find myself quickly labeled an anti-vaxxer if it comes up that I have not been vaccinated. Since my reasoning for not being vaccinated is I don’t believe the situation warrants in most cases, and it is quickly taking us into totalitarian behavoir under the guise of public health, I thought it was important to express these views to others. But almost everyone is so on board, all it does is make people angry at me. (if people were dropping dead around me a la the plague, I would definitely take my place in the vaccination line). One friend last night asked me if I would let my 11-year-old get vaccinated.
I have no control over that, unfortunately, because the custody laws in NYS are biased against the father. But I said why would I, since the virus is not affecting kids. He scoffed, and said something like “Not for now anyway.” (Yeah, if it does go after kids, it could well be due to our mass vaccination of people who don’t need it.) Then he asked me if I had been vaccinated for mumps or the measles. As if I had a choice, or as if that were relevant to the discussion. At least there are now many more people on the not very crowded sidewalk joining me in not wearing a mask. Probably because they now feel invincible after receiving their precious “jab.” Now I think I will defer to my right to medical privacy when the question inevitably comes up again.
I do look to TAE participants to draw some sustenance for my position, especially after reading scare pieces in the MSM, such as yesterday’s article in the NYT throwing out meaningless percentages along with horror stories of grave medical complications and death with “Long Covid.”
Democrats vs Republican focus. Republicans are naming employment, the border, and crime as top items. Democrats are naming U.S. CITIZENS as the #1 problem. That is, their main fear and focus in life is Republicans. Yes, a party that is, to all visible accounts, without power anywhere. And whose base is the most powerless group in the nation: unemployed poor rural folks. OBVIOUSLY they are the top danger to the nation, being powerless, unable to get institutions to follow their suggestions at all, and systematically annihilated 30,000 at a time.
Pretty weird world we live in. Shows who will “DO WHAT THEY’RE TOLD!” and follow any authority into the jaws of mass murder. “What they’re told” is to believe the State and mass media. We never lie and We’re here to help. Obviously. Just look at any page of any history book, anywhere, ever.

I read this piece on ZH yesterday about Doug Casey’s take on the Deagel predictions, and it prompted me to re-read Dr. D’s article on Deagel from a couple of months back (I even wonder if Doug Casey didn’t get a lot of his ideas from that Dr. D piece).
Anyway, what struck me this time was the percentages of population reductions per country: US -70%; UK -80%; Germany: -65%; France -40%, which seem to be remarkably well correlated with the expected vaccine uptake in those countries (yes, there are exceptions). I realize that this is heading far into conspiracy theory territory, but what if the real pandemic isn’t the virus, but the vaccines?
Then there was Bill Gates a while back talking about “pandemic 2” like it was the latest update to his software and that it was “pandemic 2” that was the one to worry about. Suppose all these vaccines just prime you for the next virus to do you in? Would the whole world have to be in on this, or just a few people who can pull all the media strings?
If somebody would like to debunk that idea, I’d be only too happy – I’m beginning to sound paranoid.
@absolute galor: I didn’t read yesterday’s NYT article, but I saw the headline when I was working at the grocery store yesterday, and it seemed to me the subtext of the article was, “If you don’t want to get the vaccine, then that means you’re a Trumpster trashcan!” I think the reason so many people are jumping on the vaccine wagon is that they are desperately needy for social permission to “go back to normal”. I really do think that at some point, people are going to need to realize that recovering any semblance of normalcy is going to mean learning how to live with Covid.
But what makes the prospect of learning how to live with it so daunting is that our picture of the science is so muddled and cloudy thanks to corporate-greed economics and establishment power-politics. On one extreme you have Hillary Clinton partisans who believe the conventional wisdom to be wisdom because it’s conventional and endorsed by establishment publications, and on the other extreme you have Trumpster whackos who think gynecological problems are caused by having sex with demons and witches who appear to one in dreams and that the vaccination program is a deliberate conspiracy to instigate a mass genocide. Parsing out a science- and reality-based picture of the truth about the pandemic becomes a daunting task for those of us who realize that there’s more to dealing with a contagious respiratory virus than regurgitating Twitter-memes.
And this goes back to what I was saying yesterday about living in an age of profound decadence, incompetence, and irrationality. If Covid would have happened thirty or even twenty years ago, I don’t think there would be this much cultural insanity around it. But I knew an age like this was coming as far back as 1994 when I was a socially-maladjusted 27-year-old. I knew back then that it was going to be bad, but of course, I didn’t imagine it would be this bad. Though I probably didn’t want to think too deeply about how bad the distant future was going to be when I already had enough on my plate dealing with my rather deep and intense social and spiritual maladjustment!

In the as far as I can imagine unlikely event that the vaccine(s) make people more receptive to dying when the next virus hits, it will more likely be because the folks that are currently experimenting with blocking the sun did not foresee the problem, not because they engineered it that way. It would be a good Hulu miniseries though, if it isn’t already.

I agree that it would be an unforeseen flaw in the vaccines rather than something deliberately built in. Still, if you know how the vaccines work in detail, maybe these flaws do exist. Otherwise, and perhaps more likely, a year or down the line, blood clot problems start happening more often.

This polishes and zaps my tinfoil chapeau. Putin has to know who the major puppet-masters are. They can’t shove him around so they have to deal with him. This press release’s timing works perfectly for a tidy dismantling of the Ukraine belligerency while allowing it to continue muttering and flustering awhile yet. The message is clear:
with conventional weapons, the USA is a sitting duck all around to Russia, period. DOA. The only option is nuclear war, Putin can say, not bluffing, and have them know this is true. It’s too ubiquitously blatant even for sociopathic NPD chowderheads to pretend otherwise.
In a nuclear war, both sides are sitting ducks but even there, Russia again has precision hypersonics, highly superior air defense, and close to ten % more warheads, period.
I think that the non-nuclear controlled demolition of the USA is going spankingly well from that perspective which, for me, is kind of the only perspective, really. Everything else pales compared to full-out nuclear war. Don’t give me no biowar this or cyberwar that: full nuclear war is the REAL Armageddon full meal deal.

Well, technically neither the Covid vaccines nor HCQ have received FDA “approval” to prevent and/or lessen Covid symptoms. At least HCQ has received FDA approval for other purposes and we know what the long term side effects are.

Being prepared mentally, spiritually, and physically (yes, you need all 3) is essential. My training camp is right outside my front door. Each morning I leash my Border Collie and head out into the forest and hills. On my daily 3-mile-ish trek (in under an hour depending on my dog’s nose and if the squirrel, deer, bear, fox, or mountain lion has been about) my eyes open and the training begins. Crossing the seasonal creek on my property border, I note how the watershed is nearly dry and it is only April. I hear my boots crunching the earth and the dust kicks up, man its dry, bone dry and it’s only April. Heading up the trail there are dead trees everywhere. They are dying and dropping so fast it is impossible to tally the loss. A good wind puts many down to their final rest. Even the hearty manzanita are dying. The forest is a tinder box and it’s only April. Spring flowers are trying their best, and many are popping through; it is in their Nature to live, to come up, to try, to be. Grasses are not in abundance, what will the deer eat come June? It does not matter why we have a drought, or who/what caused it. It is here and the reality is that there is DEATH all around me. Face it Susan.

I say to them: you’re scared of covid. I’m concerned about covid but I’m far more scared of the vaccine and this ionside-out public health policy response we’ve been dealing with for over a year now with no discernible benefits but many discernible costs including physical illness. I’m scared both for me personally and for the general public. I’ve spent easily 20 hours researching this issue, including some glaringly eye-draioning fine print in medical papers. You think I’m wrong, I I think that what you think of me won’t keep my health intact. I think getting angry and ganging up on me shows that you’re scared and willing to bully others.
I’m not scared. I don’t bully others. Go find someone else to pick on and pretend you know more than them.
It’s not an argument you win. It’s an argument you end… like ending a fight: FU, I don’t care, you’re stupid and your mama smells funny.
It’s all childish ego. Treat ’em like the commercials they incessantly consume treat them: like dumbshit. Treat ’em with the schoolyard clique peer pressure they still live by.

Consider the other overlaps between these countries: zombie economies imploding; similar responses to covid, similarly unheralthy overfed population (France not so much but then France is the least at 40%), all under the increasingly bull’s eye red flag umbrella of NATO… so I see the vaccine as just part of a generaly concert of shared folly.

One more note on covid conversations:
a major reason I kvetch so much about kvetching is that this tends to place the semantic information by which one can dispell covid myths in memories banks accessed by and laced with…. anger.
And no one listens to an anrgry person, only their tone… unless the angry person is holding a baseball bat whereby you get their deeper attention. 😉
Kvetching makes it hard to compete with smiling psychopaths who manipulate us so well. Kvetching makes it hard to smile at your neighbor as you deconstruct his biases. Deconstructing hir cognitive biases makes hem uncomfortable via cognitive dissonance. SMiling gives them the strength they need to get through it.
Fauci always smiles. Less and less, he’s falling apart, but he got this far by getting on TV and smiling avuncularly while sticking to essential talking points.
In gratitude for the sense of fellowship I get from reading these comments, I’d like to share a few thoughts that occur to me this morning.
1) Letting your attention be captured by the enemy will lead to your downfall. I am in danger of this.
2) Failing to be aware will also lead to your downfall. Most everyone I know is in this.
3) Here in the intellectual desert that is the Seattle area, I have been driving myself more than a bit mad trying to figure out what is going on in the world, and sending signals to my local peers in the hope of locating allies. But no-one replies, and I fear I am both exhausting and exposing myself, thereby compromising my ability to defend and nurture my young family.
