I weary of “officials” summarizing facts for me. There is always an agenda…it is always a form of soft coercion. Daughter has been experiencing abdominal pain from an enlarged spleen, a side effect of mono. It was becoming pretty painful yesterday, so at night we went to the ER to have it checked out. For reasons that I’m not going to currently guess at, the hospital no longer bothers to supply forms at the outset, when I could read them at my leisure while I am waiting for hours, before I am uncomfortably dozing off in a chair. No, instead the forms appear after four hours, after my daughter has been examined by the doctor. I am given an iPad with the form loaded onto it, and expected to sign with my finger. I hate writing with my finger, and the no-battery stylus in my purse does not write on iPads. For the second, the hospital person tells me that the form “is so doctors can talk with one another.” I remembered that, wait, I need to READ this stuff first (I was a little groggy at 1 am,) and saw that the form authorizes my daughter’s health information to be put into an online health exchange. I have to formally decline this once a year at her primary care physician. “No,” I replied, “it’s not. It’s to put my daughter’s data into an online health exchange.” The hospital person said, “But…” ( I don’t recall the specifics.) I interjected: “No — I’ve had three notices in the past 6 months about my data being breached online. No data online is safe.” So, instead there was document #3, which looked like the standard stuff about billing insurance. I signed that. Come to think of it, I didn’t read much of it…it was probably the standard stuff. I forgot to ask for copies. A few minutes later the nurse came in the room with physical papers. The first was a simple form to sign (with a pen! A pen that glided and wrote well!). It had a single sentence: I have read the discharge instructions and have had my questions answered. She asked me to sign and then explained that after the signature she would review the papers with me. I objected and pointed out that I couldn’t sign that I had read documents and had my questions answered before I actually saw the documents. She seemed irritated with me, took back the stack of papers, and reviewed them. I signed afterwards. I had no questions.I suspect that one large contributing factor to these practices are the software EULAs that we began clicking “I agree” to back in the 90s. I weary of this. Paperwork isn’t fun, but abbreviating the part where the signee actually reads the document before signing is the wrong part to cut short. (A realistic solution is to keep documents short and devoid of complex legalese.). I long for the day when the courts begin to systematically void these documents because of deceptive practices on the part of the companies pressing for quick signatures.
Waiting for signatures until the signee is exhausted and almost ready to leave is a strategy to obtain signatures without the signee having adequately reviewed the document. What is being hidden?
Come to think of it, according to the signs that have popped up at hospitals and urgent cares and the like since Covid, failure to respond to a health care worker’s instructions or not following their requests can be considered “aggressive behavior” under the law. This is not heading to a good place.

The Fed will not cut rates at its May or June meetings. Wall Street’s been predicting rate cuts for almost two years and they’ve been wrong every time. They’re predicting a June rate cut, and they’ll be wrong again.
A rate cut at the July 31 meeting is possible but is in jeopardy now due to inflation going up again in the latest report. We’ll have three more months of inflation, unemployment and GDP data between now and then.
If the Fed does cut rates in late July, it won’t be for good reasons. It’ll be because the economy has fallen into a recession. But given the boost to U.S. growth from out-of-control government spending in an election year, the recession may be postponed. So don’t count on a July rate cut either.
There’s no Fed meeting in August. The next meeting after that is Sept. 18. The Fed may be ready for a rate cut by then but here’s the problem: The Sept. 18 date is just seven weeks before the election on Nov. 5. The Fed pretends it’s non-political but in fact, it is highly political.
A rate cut in September will be viewed as helping Biden by boosting the economy and hurting Trump. At the same time, Trump is the likely winner based on currently available polling data and trends.
The Fed won’t want to be in the position of appearing to boost Biden and hurt Trump if Trump is going to win. Trump will make the Fed Public Enemy No. 1 and that’s the last thing they want. So the Fed will take a pass in September.
There’s no Fed meeting in October. The next two Fed meetings after that are on Nov. 7 and Dec. 18, both safely after the election. The Fed could cut rates at both meetings. But the Fed has painted itself into a corner on that…
..The problem is that inflation isn’t done. From the 3.0% in June 2023, inflation rose to 3.7% in August, and 3.7% again in September 2023. Inflation fluctuated between 3.1% and 3.4% until recently. March inflation came in at 3.5%, a full 0.3 percentage points higher than in February.
That’s not all that’s going up. The price of oil was $68.50 per barrel last Dec. 12 and is over $83.00 per barrel today. That’s about a 21% increase in just four months.
That oil price shock hasn’t worked its way through the supply chain yet. It has resulted in some price increases, but more are in the pipeline. This oil price spike will keep inflation at current levels or higher in the months ahead. The report’s findings were released Tuesday as part of a hearing examining China’s role in the fentanyl epidemic in the U.S. Most overdose deaths in the U.S. continue to be linked to fentanyl and other synthetic opioids. Inexpensive fentanyl is increasingly cut into other drugs, often without the buyers’ knowledge.
The Chinese government not only subsidizes the manufacturing of precursor chemicals, but the report says it has also thwarted investigations into illicit manufacturers by warning the targets of an investigation when U.S. law enforcement has sent a formal request for assistance. Investigators said multiple current and former federal agents have described the notification of targets, leading those targets to revamp operations and make it harder to detect their activities.
Former U.S. Attorney General William Barr told lawmakers in Tuesday’s hearing that it’s hard to believe that a country with the most pervasive surveillance system in the world is not fully aware of the massive drug trafficking taking place. He said the committee’s report “uncovered persuasive evidence” that China’s government is not just a bystander, but is “knee deep” in sponsoring and facilitating the export of fentanyl precursors.
Barr recommended the U.S. use its trade and economic power to seek greater enforcement from Chinese authorities. He also said victims should bring civil actions against companies and individuals involved in distributing the precursors and synthetic drugs.
“I don’t think we can count on their goodwill, as we have in the past,” Barr said.
The Chinese embassy in Washington did not respond immediately to a request for comment.
Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi, the top Democrat on the committee, said Chinese companies are also currently selling synthetic opioids on their websites, and pointed to a screenshot of one such solicitation that committee staff found just Monday night in advance of the hearing. He said such posts have to be taken down immediately.
“There are hundreds of these website posts — hundreds” Krishnamoorthi said. “This is completely unacceptable.”
The chemical companies providing fentanyl precursors often have legitimate businesses with customers around the world. The report said fentanyl precursors and other synthetic narcotics are a “side hustle” designed to maximize profits.
Businesses that deal in fentanyl precursors and narcotics on the side are particularly vulnerable to U.S sanctions. The same goes for companies such as banks, online platforms and shipping companies that enable illicit fentanyl trade.
The report calls on Congress to clarify the power of the president to sanction those involved in drug trafficking, for the U.S. to impose financial sanctions on violators and for regular reports to Congress on how often sanctions have been undertaken.
It also calls for forming a task force that would place intelligence, economic and enforcement resources under one roof. The head of the group would report directly to the attorney general of the U.S. and serve as a special assistant to the president on the National Security Council with authority over the opioids portfolio.

A very good measure of how much control the government has over the citizens. Dumb citizens will obey without question, but the real source of hope is the percentage who did not obey, the ones who knew that the government was not trustworthy and did not hold their best interests at heart. Canada has 20% of citizens who are capable of making a difference and rescuing the country, now all they have to do is work out a way of achieving that goal.

That video reveals the problem in the west, the two talking heads are willing to accept that their own military was involved in the Covid scam, has been for decades, but they then go on to say that it was China’s idea, that they wanted to put DNA into western people and to kill a few of them and its leverage was that it is the west’s biggest creditor.
These people are being idiots. They are believing the government’s “China bad” line while also rejecting the government’s “Covid mRNA good” line. They are not thinking rationally. Why would China want to destroy the western word, one of its biggest customers? China is all about business and becoming the richest country on the planet, you don’t do that by killing your customers. I suspect that the reason the Chinese government did not say anything about the Wuhan videos of people falling over dead is because they firstly did not initially know if they were fake and secondly did not want to risk any impact on their scientific industry which does a huge amount of work for the western world. There is also a third reason, they probably also decided that a bit of fear in their own population would help them to control the outbreak.
Blaming outsiders seems to give these people a way of sleeping soundly at night in the false belief that the evil did not come from their own government and oligarchs.
