Coming oer the mountain and remaining fast on the leeward side, but squeezed dry, makes sense.I don’t think of throwing cigarettes butts as arson, but a lot of fires by highways start like that, when conditions are sustained hot/dry/windy. I suspect the Kohala Ranch fire, along Akoni Pule Hwy. in North Kohala was like that. The one from around 2007-2008 was like that, I think. It happened just before I worked there the first time.
