US Forces Pull Out Of Syria’s Tanf Base, Hand Over To Jolani Regime
    by Tyler Durden
    Thursday, Feb 12, 2026 – 02:20 PM
After many years of being there, American forces have withdrawn from the Al-Tanf Garrison, a base in southern Syria near the borders of Iraq and Jordan, according to fresh reporting in AFP.

US troops had long operated out of Tanf to pressure the Assad government as part of the long-running US-backed regime change project. The US primarily trained the Syrian Free Army (FSA) in that remote desert area – which was an umbrella group of various factions, likely among them jihadists, armed and funded by Washington.

A Syrian military source told AFP and other international outlets Wednesday that the “American forces withdrew entirely from Al-Tanf base today” and relocated to a Jordan base.

The report said that Syrian military personnel replaced the US forces – but that the Pentagon will “continue to coordinate with the base in Al-Tanf from Jordan.”

So after over a decade-long proxy war, the bearded ‘ISIS-lite’ jihadists of Jolani/Sharaa’s army were just handed an American base overnight. Perhaps that was the plan all along. Al Jazeera provides further confirmation:

Syrian forces have taken control of the strategic al-Tanf military base near the border with Iraq and Jordan, the Syrian defense ministry has said, amid the withdrawal of a longstanding United States troop presence at the base.

The ministry said in a statement on Thursday that Syrian Arab Army units had taken control of al-Tanf, securing the base and its surroundings, “through coordination between the Syrian and American sides”.

Army units had “begun deploying along the Syrian-Iraqi-Jordanian” border nearby, the ministry said, while border guards would be deployed in the coming days.

It was only in December that an insider attack took place in the central town of Palmyra, resulting two US soldiers and a civilian killed. Washington tried to pass it off as a “lone ISIS gunman” but the Syrian government itself admitted the attacker belonged to their security forces.

US officials have admitted to The Wall Street Journal that post-Assad Syrian Army is “riddled with jihadist sympathizers, including soldiers with ties to al-Qaeda and ISIS and others who have been involved in alleged war crimes against the Kurds and Druze.”

In northeastern Syria, a place where most US troops are based, there have been signs of large-scale withdrawal into Iraq over the last several weeks.

This has been extremely controversial as the US-backed Kurds and SDF forces have been attacked as Damascus forces move in. The Kurds are once again being thrown under the bus, with no support, after having been armed and trained by Washington for much of the last decade. Abandonment of the stateless Kurds has been a clear pattern over time.

    Musk Pivoting To The Moon:

If Musk is pivoting to the moon, I find all those diagrams focusing on above ground buildings to be absurd.

Any long term presence on the moon runs into severe cosmic radiation risks.

The only practical solution is to burrow about 10 feet down below the moon’s surface.

Ten feet of the moon’s regolith cover will reduce the radiation threat to nearly zero.

This is where Musk’s 4 robots, Skipper, Kowalski, Rico, and Private, would come in handy.

After a little research, Musk’s boring machine would not be of much use because the moon surface is covered with loose but tightly packed but sharp regolith material. It would be very tough digging with a hand shovel. A pick, hoe, rake, might be useful to pick the regolith material apart. Moon dust might be a real problem for the robots and any machinery.

This is where hand/machine digging/drilling/augar small holes 1 or 2 or 3 meters deep and then letting Rico do his thing, might work, providing Rico is cautious about the amount of explosive per hole! You want to move the regolith material out of the way, but not too far away. This blasted regolith material will be needed to cover up any structure put in the blasted trench.

If there is any solid rock, if freezing temperatures are part of the hot/cold daily cycle, then drill small holes, fill with say water (or explosives), plug, and then let the freezing water (or explosives) break the solid rock, sort of like the ancient Egyptians did (or like Rico always wants to do, kaboom!).

OK, we could haul Musk’s boring machine along too, just to make him feel happy! But you probably need to have a 20 foot high vertical rock face or cliff to bore into horizontally.

However, I am planning to stay right here on earth!

    Michael:

I listened to the video and I generally agree with him. He is more right than wrong!

There is a “trust” breakdown between paper silver/gold prices and physical silver/gold prices.
Nobody with physical, believes the paper prices are true anymore.
This has changed how investors are reacting 180 degrees, which is a big problem for the paper players.
However, there are still too many suckered still playing the paper game.
They will be killed off, one by one, Chicago style!

The break between paper silver and physical silver prices, broke into the open on Black Friday in November 2025.
The break between paper gold and physical gold prices started more slowly begining March 2024.

One thing folks tend to forget is the Shanghai silver/gold physical market price also includes a 13% VAT tax. So silver at $100 would show as $113 in Shanghai. This makes the so called spread between the CME and Shanghai look much bigger than it actually is.

Black Friday November 2025 silver market break occurred because the Chinese demanded the silver they had earlier loaned the CME back!

The only solution for the current so called manufactured silver shortage is higher physical silver prices!
So if you hold physical silver, you are highly unlikely to part with it for current paper prices!
This is where the paper silver players are trapped.
They can play their paper games all they want, but no new physical silver is produced!
So they are a baseball runner trapped between two bases, trying to out run the ball
So they will cheat and change the rules in the middle of the game!
Remember, the CME house never loses!

The paper market still isn’t totally smashed yet. It is slowly/suddenly? getting there.

As for the job market revisions, that is just Joe Biden stuff that has nothing to do with 2009!
He is bonkers on this job BS!

I think Trump asked the BLS AI model to just fix itself! A non event.

So at today’s fake silver prices, I doubt your Dad is going to bother trying to retrieve his lost silver anchor lying on the bottom of the sea!

    Thursday:

The Da Boyz knocked both gold and silver paper prices down hard today in preparation to set the table going into Asia’s lunar new year when their markets are all closed next week.

It will be very entertaining to see Da Boyz playing in their paper sandbox!

They can play with all the paper they want, but I will be playing with matches!

I remember the silver bull in 2007 to 2011. Prices went from 10 to 35. Physical prices hardly moved once they reached a plateau yet the appearance of a blow off top was perpetuated along with all the money printing shenanigans of those hazy days.

It’s hard to believe that that was nearly twenty years ago. Now, just as then, physical prices are not susceptible to the type of manipulation that is easily done by pressing CTL + print or CTL + delete.

To elaborate on my last post.

Silver was near $50 in 2011. Silver then declined to $35 and stayed in the range of $20-30 until 2013. Dropped to $19 and tested support. Dropped to $13 in 2015. Stayed within the range of $14-20 until 2020.

During the entire time the physical price of silver did not change.

Most people don’t know this but then, most people also thought that the shots were safe and effective.

Apologies if this has already been posted. A good study in theosophy by Chase Hughes.
