Not to alarm anyone or undermine their faith in the Mainstream Media, but they’re lying to us about the Palisades Fire, and by lying I mean like lying on a Goebbels scale.

Don’t take my word for it. Go to Google maps and search for : Palisades Fire . It will display an outline of the burned or burning area, and you will see that it is WAY bigger than what is shone in the media,

Posted in my next comment will be a cut & paste of my slightly frustrating conversation with CoPilot AI this morning. Those of you familiar with The rather disorienting geography of the Greater Los Angeles metropolitan area will notice, for example, that places north of the Encino Reservoir are in fact densely populated parts of the larger San Fernando Valley.

Now this could all be just a “Fog Of War” miscommunication, but I am highly suspicious that it is not.
Notice the road closures. Closing ANY part Interstate 10 is a big deal, and interruptions of traffic flow on the 405 Freeway is equivalent to sawing Los Angeles in half..

Is there some kind of (almost) unpresented full-court-press-censorship going on with that fire?

For example my favorite humorless wonky just-the-facts no-nonsense fire reporting vlogger (You Tube channel is : The Lookout) has been posting two videos per day since the Palisades fire broke out. He is quite irritable about anything that even REMOTELY whiffs of conspiracy theory, directed energy weapons, etc.). Well, his channel is still there but the past MONTH of posted videos has been taken down. Like GONE. Vanished.

WTF is going on, folks? This kind of crap makes me nervous.

My morning chat with the chatbot about the Los Angeles Fires is as follows:

ME: what has happened with los angeles fires in past 12 hours?
The Los Angeles fires have been quite severe over the past 12 hours. Here are some key updates:

CoPilot: Casualties and Damage: The fires have tragically resulted in at least 25 deaths and destroyed over 12,000 structures. The affected area has now scorched more than 60 square miles.

Evacuations: More than 150,000 people in Los Angeles County are under evacuation orders, with over 700 people taking refuge in shelters.

Firefighting Efforts: Thousands of firefighters are battling the blazes, with additional resources being deployed. The Palisades Fire has burned over 23,000 acres and is only 18% contained, while the Eaton Fire has destroyed around 7,000 structures and burned over 14,000 acres.

Weather Conditions: The area is experiencing strong Santa Ana winds, which are expected to continue, raising the risk of further fire growth. Red flag warnings are in place for parts of Southern California through Wednesday evening3.

It’s a very challenging situation, and the efforts to contain the fires and protect residents are ongoing. Do you have any specific questions or concerns about the fires?

ME: That’s summary of past week. i want summary of the past day.

CoPilot: Got it! Here’s a summary of the Los Angeles fires over the past 24 hours:

Containment Progress: The Lidia Fire has been fully contained, and the Archer Fire is now 100% contained. The Kenneth Fire has also been fully contained.

Ongoing Fires: The Palisades Fire has burned 23,713 acres and is 18% contained, while the Eaton Fire has burned 14,117 acres and is 35% contained.

Evacuations: The number of people under evacuation orders has decreased to 88,000, with another 84,800 under evacuation warnings.

Weather Conditions: Strong Santa Ana winds are expected to return, posing a significant threat. Red flag warnings are in place for Los Angeles and Ventura counties through Wednesday afternoon2.

Casualties: The death toll has risen to 25, with ongoing search and rescue operations.

Firefighters are continuing their efforts to contain the remaining fires and protect residents. Do you have any specific concerns or questions about the situation?

ME: Is there any place near Los Angeles where fires are stlll spreading out of control ?

CoPilot: Yes, the Palisades Fire and the Eaton Fire are still spreading and have not yet been fully contained2. The Palisades Fire has burned over 23,000 acres and is only 18% contained, while the Eaton Fire has burned 14,117 acres and is 35% contained. Both fires are being fueled by strong Santa Ana winds, which are expected to continue, posing a significant threat1.

Firefighters are working tirelessly to contain these fires and protect residents, but the situation remains very dangerous. Do you have any specific concerns or questions about these fires?

ME: Are there any new evacuation orders?

CoPilot: Yes, there are new evacuation orders in place due to the ongoing fires. The areas under mandatory evacuation orders include parts of Los Angeles County south of Pacific Coast Highway, north of the Encino Reservoir, east of the 405 Freeway, and west of Mandeville Canyon2. Additionally, areas near Altadena and Pasadena are also under evacuation orders due to the Eaton Fire.

Residents in these areas are required to leave immediately as these zones are lawfully closed to public access. For the most up-to-date information, please refer to the Cal Fire website or local authorities.

Is there anything specific you’d like to know about the evacuation process or the fires?

ME: Yes, are there active firs north of Encino reservoir or east of the 405 and north of the 101 highway ?

CoPilot: Yes, there are active fires in both areas:

North of the Encino Reservoir: The Palisades Fire is still active and spreading in this region. Mandatory evacuation orders are in place for parts of Encino and Tarzana.

East of the 405 Freeway and north of the 101 Freeway: The Woodley Fire erupted in the Sepulveda Basin, just west of the 405 Freeway and north of the 101 Freeway. Firefighters are working to contain this blaze, which has already burned around 30 acres.

Both fires are being fueled by strong winds, making containment efforts challenging. Do you have any specific concerns or questions about these areas?

    FBI Wray:

The FBI’s Wrays only regret about raiding Trump’s home is not finding the files Trump has, documentin̈g all the crimes the FBI and the deep state committed against Trump from 2016 through 2020.

That was the sole reason for the raid’s total house search.
They were desperately trying to find and confiscate these self incriminating crime files.

    Not Ending Ukrainian War:

It looks like the Trump team are trying to move their prior position on quickly ending the Ukrainian War, towards that of the deep state’s desire to keep the war going until the last Ukrainian.

Examples: 100 days target, pushing draft age down to 18, Nato saying Ukraine is not in strong enough position to negotiate, etc.

After two failed attempts to post this, I’ll try again with the links deactivated.

This news story from yesterday reports the US Navy wasted $1.8 billion of a $4 billion program trying to modernize 11 ships, of which only 1 ship has returned to sea after 9 years of the project. That ship, the USS Gettysburg, went on to shoot down a US Navy F-18 fighter jet in the Red Sea last month, and shot at another F-18 but missed, according to Navy reports.

How were those billions wasted? “The Government Accountability Office blames poor planning by the Navy and poor performance by contractors”.

For example, the USS Vicksburg had a lot of work done by contractors who broke stuff they were trying to install without the required Navy supervision, then the contractors unsuccessfully tried to make repairs using unauthorized products such as Gorilla Glue, which failed. After all the work done on the Vicksburg, the ship was decommissioned (permanently removed from service) without ever returning to the fleet.

The GAO found numerous problems with the effort to modernize the Vicksburg. At one point a contractor cracked a sonar dome during installation. The contractor was not supposed to install the dome without Navy supervision.

Replacing the dome cost the Navy $1 million and several months of delay. A contractor also used unauthorized, off-the-shelf projects to finish the work, Oakley said.

“The contractor still was having challenges with getting it pressurized, because it’s a pressurized dome,” she said. “They took steps like using the Gorilla Glue and the Flex Seal to seal it. They were never able to do it.”

The GAO found the Navy typically did not fine contractors for poor work and the cost of rebuilding the ships kept rising. The Vicksburg and Anzio have been decommissioned before returning to the fleet.

The report does not name the contractors or subcontractors who performed the work.

Federal inspectors say the Navy wasted $1.8 billion on a program to modernize cruisers
    https://www.whro.org/military-veterans/2025-01-14/federal-inspectors-say-the-navy-wasted-1-8-billion-on-a-program-to-modernize-cruisers

In a recently released report on the modernization, GAO found the Navy cut the number of required inspections in half. The Navy also didn’t fine contractors for substandard work, even after a gunmount on Gettysburg was initially installed at the wrong height. The ship’s crew told investigators that they found more problems with the electrical systems and propulsion systems as they prepared to deploy in September, Oakley said.

Details remain murky on why a Navy cruiser launched a missile at a U.S. aircraft in the Red Sea

The investigations of last month’s shootdown of the F-18 in the Red Sea are still ongoing, according to the Navy’s vice chief, with additional details being withheld because facts are still being gathered.

@WES “Examples: 100 days target, pushing draft age down to 18, Nato saying Ukraine is not in strong enough position to negotiate, etc.”

I have been considering the thought that Trump is using the reduction in Draft age as a club to beat Z over the head with. Such a move will be extremely difficult, if not impossible for Ukraine to implement. It seems to be a political and social third rail in Ukieland – even if it can be forced/bribed through the legislature it seems certain that Ukrainians will simply refuse to hand over their children – they know perfectly well that the war is lost.

Trump can then point at this failure as a reason to discontinue US support and even bring the Neocon Deep Staters with him as they also would then have a plausible out and a scapegoat (Z) on whom to blame the total failure of Project Ukraine. ‘If they can’t keep their end of the bargain, why should we?’ he will say.

Insurance needs to change, but they probably won’t change it the right way. (My impression is that Property & Casualty insurance works very differently from Healthcare)

California was ALREADY paying 30% less than everyone else, because to operate in a state, the Property & Casualty insurance company submits their plan for pricing/coverages to the government, who then approves it – otherwise the insurance company cannot sell that coverage plan. And California was not allowing operation in their state without prices that made people in other states subsidize Californians.

Let’s take a worst-case building scenario. I watched a documentary as a teen – and then put in hours of research, because it was interesting – on home construction in hurricane areas.

They covered a variety of solutions from hurricane straps to window shutters to alternatives to stick frame construction.

One company was making a rebar reinforced poured-concrete house molded to look like a normal house cost about 20% more than stick-frame. At the end of the show, the male anchor made much of this – “Ho-HO, 20% more!” (condescending chuckling) But the structure is immune to fire, insects, water damage, bullets, wind, etc. Research indicated you save 20% on maintenance vs stick frame. Maybe insurance is too stupid to create a quoting system that takes this into account but they should.

Last segment showed various ways to prevent windows from blowing out in a hurricane and ruining your home. Footage of a 2×4 hitting a window at 60mp and not breaking through, etc.

Closed with the female news anchor: “Oh nooo, we can’t be cowering inside our bunker homes in feeear” etc

Thank you for bird-dogging The Ick for the Community, ma’am.

Nobody said anything about the building material known as concrete causing people to become shut-ins. Nobody said anything about prudent people with a bunker-home cowering, terrified because their house is safe as compared to the idiot on the coast in his stick frame house, who is what, brave?

    1. She has non liquid investments that depend on stick frame construction?
    2. Others shouldn’t benefit without her getting a cut. She’s in a situation where SHE cannot get such a house, she’ll be damned if YOU do?

Not only will most P&C (property and casualty) insurers not modify their quote based on the more fireproof construction methods, they will refuse to quote fireproof construction structures altogether. Monolithic or geodesic dome? Earthship? Nope. They will KIND of quote better based on if your structure is masonry sitting behind your siding rather than stick, but they aren’t set up to take account of your entire structure simply being non flammable (floor, walls, roof, inside and out)

They WILL take note of cement fiber shingles on frame. Clay tile roof. We like products and systems – chinese drywall rated to resist fire for 5 minutes, then explode. Fire RESISTANT! We have builders and contractors standing by to install fire-resistant rated materials at hundreds an hour, sir. Underwriter’s Laboratory said! Here’s your $42 off a year, sir. But then again, a standard attic is a convection machine, that’s what it is built for. Fire gets to your soffits and turns your entire house into a flamethrower. Functioning as designed. Your attic IS convection. Who gives a fuck about cement shingles and clay tiles. The actuaries rightly see it’s only worth a $42 discount.

The solution seems to be, you actually build a non-flammable house. You point out to the bank the savings on maintenance and insurance – this SHOULD cause them to give you a favorable deal. The mortgage lender SHOULD waive a fire insurance requirement on a structure made of NOTHING THAT BURNS.

Insurance companies aren’t charging California too much. California has been and is freeloading.

But they COULD give deep discounts for non-flammable structures and lenders could waive insurance requirements and give favorable terms for non idiotic construction methods. You’re going to have another what, $4,500, $12,000 a year to pay the mortgage with, after all. GIVE them the 20% more for building if that’s what it really takes (it doesn’t)

And of course, the California government is going to have to come round to laws and regulations that say yes, go ahead and build non flammable structures INSTEAD OF fire insurance. Without torturing and bankrupting anyone who attempts it in the process.

    re: fires

Those are 2 of the richest zipcodes on the planet.

Altadena: I’m aghast, somewhat surprised, but it’s possible. That’s Huntington’s neighborhood, in part. It’s a smear of very-very rich on the east, base of Mt Wilson Toll Road, gradually ranging thru mid-class to somewhat poor toward the west.

Palisades Highlands: Separate from the flats of Palisades, Highlands was a natural death trap. It’s a box canyon, very craggy sandstone formations. The only public road is via the narrows, ~2km of skinny canyon with sandstone cliff formations overhanging. The basin had expensive tract houses and condos built on the eastern slope, brush and live oak. Reservoir was at the base of sandstone/conglomerate cliffs. Almost no services in the canyon, a small cafe, post office, real estate. IIRC, one fire station. Always struck me as an extremely irrational neighborhood. One good earthquake, and you’re trapped. One good fire, and…well…

After the USS Truman, the next aircraft carriers lined up for deployment to the Red Sea are the USS Nimitz and USS Gerald Ford.

USS Nimitz (CVN-68), a West Coast-based aircraft carrier, and USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN-78) are being prepared for deployment to the Red Sea, Cheever said.

The Houthis have also taken a different approach to the Red Sea in the past couple months, firing more at Israel rather than commercial ships.

However, the Houthis have said they attacked the Harry S. Truman Carrier Strike Group three times so far in 2025 [and six times since arriving at the Red Sea, reportedly], although Central Comand has yet to acknowledge the alleged strikes.

“We observed a marked escalation in the scale and complexity of enemy techniques and capabilities with the employment of anti-ship ballistic missiles and roving one-way [unmanned aerial vehicles] with pre-assigned kill boxes. We’ve sped up our own learning and teaching so that our deploying ships are always prepared with the latest [tactics, techniques and procedures] before they go over the horizon,” McLane said.

McLane used an example of how a destroyer leaving the Red Sea via the Bab el-Mandeb repelled a complex Houthi attack. The destroyer fended off “three anti-ship ballistic missiles that were shot at a depressed trajectory, three anti-ship cruise missiles and seven one-way attack UAVs,” during the transit McLane said.

Enigmatic statements: LA fires worse than nuclear strike – Trump
In an interview with Newsmax, Trump predicted that rescuers would find “many more dead” and expressed bewilderment at the scale of destruction.
“I believe it’s greater damage than if they got hit by a nuclear weapon. I’ve never seen anything like it. Vast miles and miles of houses just burned to a crisp. There’s nothing standing,” Trump told the outlet.
He added that he had seen “very guarded pictures” of the destruction, claiming that the catastrophe is “far worse than you even see on television, if that’s believable.”…
..Trump is considering paying a personal visit to southern California to survey the damage caused by the fires, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing people familiar with his plans. In his interview with Newsmax, the president-elect also expressed interest in taking part in the rebuilding of the area, stating that “we’re gonna do things with Los Angeles. You know, I’m already putting my developer cap on.” https://swentr.site/news/610868-trump-la-fires-nuke/

Governor Gavin Newsome says these words as a spontaneous movement of joyful delight flows through his body. What exactly was he thinking? Look at 1:18 minute mark.
“I was just talking to Josh Green, the Governor down in Hawaii, who had some ideas around some land use concerns he has around speculators coming in, buying up properties. So we’re already working with our legal teams to move those things forward and we’ll be presenting those in a matter of days, not just weeks.”

It’s the greatest show on earth – unleashing a double bill of New Paradigm and Manifest Destiny on crack. We are the greatest. We will rock you – in every sense. We will crush you. We will take whatever we want because we can. And if you wanna walk away from the U.S. dollar, we will destroy you. BRICS, we’re coming to get ya.
Trump 2.0 – a mix of professional wrestling and MMA played in a giant planetary cage – is in da house starting next Monday.
Trump 2.0 aims to be on the driving seat on the global financial system; on control of the world’s oil trade and LNG supply; and on strategic media platforms. Trump 2.0 is gearing up to be an extended exercise in the capacity to hurt The Other. Any Other. Hostile takeovers – and blood on the tracks. That’s how we “negotiate”…
..The Empire of Chaos faces a humongous debt, owed to usual suspect loan sharks, that may only be – partially – repaid by selected export surpluses. That would imply re-industrialization – a long, costly affair – and securing smooth military supply chains.
Where the resource base will be for this Sisyphean task? Washington simply cannot rely on Chinese exports and rare earths. The chessboard needs to be rejigged – with trade and tech unified under U.S. unilateral, monopoly control.
Plan A, so far, was to simultaneously confront Russia and China: the two top BRICS, and key vectors of Eurasia integration. China’s strategy, since the start of the millennium, has been to trade resources for infrastructure, developing Global South markets as China itself keeps developing.
Russia’s strategy has been to help nations recover their sovereignty; actually helping nations to help themselves on the sustainable development front.
Plan A against the concerted geoeconomic and geostrategic strategies of the Russia-China strategic partnership miserably failed. What has been attempted by the ghastly, exiting U.S. administration generated serial, massive blowbacks.
So it’s time for Plan B: Looting the allies. They are already dominated chihuahuas anyway. The – exploitation – show must go on. And there are plenty of chihuahuas available to be exploited…
..When it comes to the Arctic as a crucial, evolving battlefield, there may be a vague allusion to the Northwest Passage. But never a mention of what really matters; the Northern Sea Route – the Russian denomination; the Chinese call it the Arctic Silk Road. That’s one of the key connectivity corridors of the future.
The Northern Sea Route encompasses at least 15% of the world’s unexplored oil and 30% of the world’s unexplored natural gas. Greenland is smack in the middle of this New Great Game – capable of supplying years of uranium, as much oil as Alaska (bought from Russia in 1867), plus rare earths – not to mention providing useful real state for missile defense and offense.
Washington has been trying to grab Greenland from Denmark since 1946. There’s a deal with Copenhagen in place guaranteeing military control – mostly naval. Now Greenland is being revamped as the ideal U.S. entry point into the Arctic Great Game against Russia.
At the St. Petersburg forum last June, I had the privilege to follow an exceptional round table on the Northern Sea Route: that’s an integral part of Russia’s 21st century development project, focused on commercial navigation – “We need more icebreakers!” – and bound to surpass Suez and Gibraltar in the near future.
Slightly over 50,000 Greenland residents – which already enjoy autonomy, especially vis a vis the EU – would more than accept a full Danish exit; Copenhagen actually abandoned them since 1951. Greenlanders will love to profit from vast U.S. investments…
..What Trump 2.0 actually wants from Greenland is crystal clear: total militarization; privileged access to rare earths; and commercially excluding Russia and Chinese companies.
Chinese military expert Yu Chun noted that “soon, the long-desired ‘golden waterway’ of the Arctic Ocean is expected to open, allowing ships to traverse the Pacific Ocean and sail along the northern coasts of North America and Eurasia into the Atlantic Ocean.”
As the Northern Sea Route is “a key element of Sino-Russian cooperation”, it’s inevitable that the U.S.’s “strategic vision is to prevent the establishment of a ‘golden waterway’ between China, Russia, and Europe by controlling Greenland.”
On the wider chihuahua front, activity is frantic. Assorted Davos/ Deep State-linked elites across NATOstan – from Europe to Canada – are in the process of being replaced by new, Trump 2.0-affiliated elites.
That’s indissociably linked to the Looting the Allies strategy: the further destruction of the vassal EU economy to strengthen the heart of the Empire.
In Germany, the Afd’s Alice Weidel – pragmatic, intellectually capable – offers a quite intriguing perspective. She is stressing on the record that Germany needs to restart importing raw materials and cheap natural gas – let’s reopen Nord Stream – from Russia. That opens the tantalizing possibility that Trump and his factotum Elon Musk fully realize that Germany is worthless to the U.S. as a de-industrialized backwater – even under the overall framework of a hardcore neoliberal asset stripping offensive. Of course Trump 2.0 will extract a hefty price for Germans to get a revitalized nation back.
Trump 2.0 at least holds the – dubious – merit of a relatively realistic reading of the chessboard; Russia, India, China – the Primakov triangle – as well as Iran have become too powerful to be looted. So the next best option is Plunder the Chihuahuas. The blowing up of Nord Stream as ordered by the Biden crime family – as detailed by Sy Hersh – was a gleaming starter…..In the event of a double NATOstan annexation of Canada and Greenland, the U.S. may be even able to match Russia’s resource base. Arguably that’s the key rationale for unleashing this New Great Game. Forget “multipolarity”. BRICS, take note.
The most intriguing side plot is, of course, Elon Musk. Trump badly needs Musk’s massive social media/propaganda digital megaphone. Simultaneously, on the chihuahua front, the platinum sidekick wants to profit from a Europe capable of assessing enough energy, raw materials and loads of consumers with solid purchasing power.
The facts on the ground already spell out the “rules-based international order” being replaced in a flash by a no-rules international disorder. After all, international law has already been abolished by the Empire of Chaos itself (that’s bipartisan) – when it comes to illegal, unilateral sanctions, theft of financial assets or legitimization of genocide and head-chopping “moderate rebels”. https://www.unz.com/pescobar/im-gonna-maga-you-baby/

World War III, like all 21st century wars, is not being fought over ideologies. It’s being fought over energy and natural resources. Because he who controls the world’s resources will be free to impose whatever ideology he wants…

Fiat currencies will become a thing of the past if these global predators succeed in their plans for a one-world surveillance state, where freedom of movement becomes a distant memory. Our healthcare and even our diets will also be tightly controlled by the elitist globalist predator class, whose interests are exemplified by the World Economic Forum and other elitist organizations.

Glenn Diessen presents useful facts and perspective. War is unpredictable: Why NATO’s Plan to Conscript Ukraine’s Youth Will Fail
While there is seemingly bipartisan support in the US for sacrificing Ukraine’s youth, the plan is deeply flawed. The Ukrainians are overwhelmingly in favour of immediate negotiations, the Ukrainian government resists the pressure from NATO, and there is very little chance that the new recruits will significantly improve the situation.
NATO’s argument is seemingly reasonable: More Ukrainian soldiers are necessary to pressure Russia to the negotiation table and to negotiate from a position of strength. However, the need to pressure Russia to the negotiation table is based on lies as Russia has been open to negotiations over the past three years. NATO has rejected negotiations… In March 2022, Zelensky confirmed in an interview with the Economist: “There are those in the West who don’t mind a long war because it would mean exhausting Russia, even if this means the demise of Ukraine and comes at the cost of Ukrainian lives”…
..The overwhelming majority of Ukrainians want negotiations to start immediately, not to sacrifice their youth in a lost war. Newsweek reports that “Over 6 million Ukrainians of conscription age haven’t complied with legislation introduced last year to boost dwindling troop numbers fighting Russia”. The public wants an end to the war, not send their teenagers to die.
Conscription of Ukraine’s youth will cause great social upheaval in a society that is already fed up with watching their men being snatched from the streets and thrown into vans by “recruiters”...
..NATO should offer Russia what it wants the most – a pan-European security agreement based on indivisible security that replaces the zero-sum bloc politics. This is the best option for the West, Russia and Ukraine. https://glenndiesen.substack.com/p/why-natos-plan-to-conscript-ukraines

Why China’s Ice Silk Road has Trump up in Arctic arms
Ice Silk Road, aka Northern Sea Route, mitigating China’s risk of US blockade of Malacca Strait chokepoint in a war scenario
A Shanxi-based columnist says the US finally recognized that China and Russia have joined forces to launch the Northern Sea Route, or Ice Silk Road, which among other things, will mitigate China’s Malacca Strait dilemma, but it’s too late now.
“The Northern Sea Route has been ignored by many people but it is now attracting China’s attention with its unique geographical advantages,” the writer says.
“This route meanders along the Russian Arctic coastline from East Asia to Europe, which can shorten the traditional route through the Strait of Malacca and the Suez Canal by one-third,” he adds. “This is undoubtedly a great benefit for China as a shorter voyage means lower costs.”
”If one day the US attempts to block the Strait of Malacca through military means, China’s oil supply will instantly face a severe challenge. Therefore, developing the Northern Sea Route is not only to save time and costs, but more importantly, to open up another lifeline for China’s energy security.” https://asiatimes.com/2025/01/why-chinas-ice-silk-road-has-trump-up-in-arctic-arms/

John Helmer on the final dance between Assad, Putin, Erdogan and Iran: WRITING ON THE KREMLIN WALL – IS IT STRATEGY OR ALIBI?
In a single line expressed through a reporter, Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov has explained the defeat of Syria as a tactical withdrawal in preparation for the “military conflict with NATO, and in the next 10 years. So, Russia right now needs solutions that will ensure at least a long-term balance in the global confrontation.”
This line appeared in the Kremlin-funded security analysis platform Vzglyad on January 3; there was no mention of Syria. In case the significance was missed, Vzglyad added the editorial line in italics: “In a long confrontation with the West, it is important to skillfully combine the economy and military. Judging by the first results of the activities of the economist Belousov as Minister of Defense, this is exactly what we see.”
A political source in Moscow concurs. “Russia has to fight all of NATO head-on within the next ten years. So if a deal can be made now to earn some time to rearm, then that’s a strategic choice that is going to have to be made.”…
..There is an eyewitness — this is Kamel Saqr who has given his detailed account of what happened, in what sequence and with what meaning. Saqr is exceptional because he was present as a senior member of Assad’s staff at the meeting Assad held in secret with Putin in Moscow on November 29; he listened to Putin’s telephone call with General Valery Gerasimov during the meeting; and he continued negotiating with Putin’s subordinates through the Friday evening and Saturday morning, November 29-30, before Assad and his staff flew from Moscow at 4 pm that day.
Nothing comparable to this account has appeared in public from any other source to speak credibly. Saqr’s interpretation of what he calls “the state of disavowal” is disputable; the facts, less so. Saqr says that Assad told him directly that when he was at his Moscow residence in the Four Seasons Hotel, Putin had sent him the message that he wanted the visit kept secret, canceling Saqr’s negotiations with the Kremlin press office on a joint communiqué for public release.
Also, Putin’s message to Assad, according to Saqr, was that “the [Russian] military was not in a position to wage war, neither psychologically nor logistically.” In retrospect, Saqr interprets Putin as having decided before the fall of Aleppo to the Turkish-led forces of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) on December 2 not to prevent their southward advance to Damascus, and also to have decided not to accept Iranian reinforcements through the Khmeimim airbase. From Saqr’s record of the last meetings in Damascus between Assad and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Aragchi on December 5-6, he admits he doesn’t know how coordinated the Russian and Iranian decision-making had been, and for how long...
..On the evening of Tuesday, December 3, after Saqr claims Assad’s call had been rejected, Putin spoke by telephone with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan; Erdogan had initiated the call. In their discussion, according to the Kremlin release, Putin asked the Turkish president to “stop radical groups’ terrorist aggression against the Syrian state and provide comprehensive assistance to the legitimate authorities’ efforts to restore stability and constitutional order across the country, including using Ankara’s capabilities in the region.” Erdogan reportedly agreed on “strengthening cooperation both bilaterally and within the framework of the Astana process. The key importance of further close coordination between Russia, Turkiye and Iran to normalise the situation in Syria”.
Erdogan was misleading. According to Saqr’s record of what Assad had been told by the Iraqi prime minister, Mohammed al-Sudani, Erdogan had declared the time for mediation was over. https://johnhelmer.net/writing-on-the-kremlin-wall-is-it-strategy-or-alibi/#more-90872

The report by the Israel Central Bureau of Statistics at the beginning of the new year, 2025, regarding the reverse immigration of Jews was like fuel poured on the fire of political conflicts in Israel, because the bleak number appearing in the headlines of the Israeli media represented the balance of reverse immigration of Jews outside the Occupation state. 82,000 were removed from the population figure, which was bad news for its political and security circles.

Trump ‘Forced Netanyahu to Accept a Gaza Plan He Repeatedly Rejected’ – Israeli Media
Last Friday evening, Steven Witkoff, U.S. President-elect Donald Trump’s Middle East envoy, called from Qatar to tell Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s aides that he would be coming to Israel the following afternoon. The aides politely explained that was in the middle of the Sabbath but that the prime minister would gladly meet him Saturday night.
Witkoff’s blunt reaction took them by surprise. He explained to them in salty English that Shabbat was of no interest to him. His message was loud and clear. Thus in an unusual departure from official practice, the prime minister showed up at his office for an official meeting with Witkoff, who then returned to Qatar to seal the deal.
A week before Trump’s inauguration, Jerusalem already sees a change in the rules of the game that has broken the deadlock in the hostage negotiations. Unusually, the outgoing Biden administration has let Witkoff lead the process, on the grounds that any obligations the United States undertakes will be incumbent on Trump, not on Biden.
Witkoff is a Jewish real estate investor and developer who is close to Trump. He doesn’t have the background of the kind of people who usually fill diplomatic roles. “Witkoff isn’t a diplomat. He doesn’t talk like a diplomat, he has no interest in diplomatic manners and diplomatic protocols,” says a senior Israeli diplomat who spoke on condition of anonymity. “He’s a businessman who wants to reach a deal quickly and charges ahead unusually aggressively.”
In fact, Witkoff has forced Israel to accept a plan that Netanyahu had repeatedly rejected over the past half year. Hamas has not budged from its position that the hostages’ freedom must be conditioned on the release of Palestinian prisoners (the easy part) and a complete Israeli withdrawal from Gaza (the hard one). Netanyahu rejected this condition and thus was born the partial deal proposed by Egypt.
I assumed last week that Trump had shared that video of Jeffrey Sachs calling Netanyahu a “deep, dark son of a bitch” inadvertently but it’s looking like that was actually a shot across the bow. https://www.informationliberation.com/?id=64807

Moon of Alabama, Trump’s Action Demonstrates Biden’s Failure In Stopping The Genocide
The deal, about a hostage exchange and ceasefire, is similar to one that has been on offer since many, many month ago. That deal had been agreed to by Hamas but was sabotaged again and again by Netanyahoo and his coalition allies:
National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir sparked outcry Monday when he claimed he had repeatedly foiled a hostage-ceasefire deal with Hamas over the past year, while calling on Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich to join him in thwarting an emerging agreement….
In a post on X, together with a video in which he called on far-right ally Smotrich to join him in telling Netanyahu that they would bolt the coalition if the current hostage deal proposal went through, Ben Gvir said that they have managed to stop previous efforts to reach an agreement.
“In the last year, using our political power, we managed to prevent this deal from going ahead, time after time,” he wrote.
However, Ben Gvir said he now lacks the power to stop what he termed the “surrender deal” because Netanyahu expanded the coalition by bringing in Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar’s New Hope party in September last year.
Aside from Ben Gvir’s and Smotrich’s resistance to a deal, it was Netanyahoo personally who was blocking a deal with the hope of assuring his own political survival.
Over fifteen months the Biden administration falsely claimed that it was Hamas which was blocking a deal over Gaza. It falsely claimed that it could not use any pressure against Netanyahoo to finally accept an agreement.
That was of course nonsense as it is the U.S. which was and is financing Netanyahoo’s war. It only took a few hours and some brashness from Donald Trump to push Netanyahoo towards concessions. https://www.moonofalabama.org/2025/01/trumps-action-demonstrates-bidens-failure-in-stopping-the-genocide.html

“We Have A Deal For The Hostages” – Trump Lauds Israel-Hamas Ceasefire ‘Breakthrough’
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has informed relatives of hostages kidnapped by Hamas that the end of the war in Gaza is near, amid reports that a ceasefire and hostage exchange deal has been reached. A formal deal could be announced within hours, he has said...

..The impending deal reportedly lays out an initial six week ceasefire phase which includes gradual withdrawal of Israeli forces from Central Gaza as well as the return of displaced Palestinians to North Gaza.
Of the some 100 hostages still held by Hamas, at least one-third are believed already deceased. Dozens were released upon an initial deal struck early in the conflict.
Like with the first hostage exchange, dozens of Palestinian prisoners are expected to be released under this new agreement in return for each Israeli hostage.

Judge threatens to break the UK’s wall of secrecy around Assange’s persecution
For years, the UK and Sweden stymied Freedom of Information requests to hide why prosecutors under Keir Starmer pursued the Wikileaks founder.
After nine years of legal battles, a British judge has finally challenged the wall of secrecy erected by British and Swedish authorities around the legal abuse of Wikileaks founder Julian Assange.
Judge Foss, sitting at the London First-Tier Tribunal, has ruled that the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) must explain how it came to destroy key files that would have shed light on why it pursued Assange for 14 years. The CPS appears to have done so in breach of its own procedures...
..The CPS files relate to lengthy correspondence between the UK and Sweden over a preliminary investigation into rape allegations in Sweden that predate the US extradition case.
A few CPS emails from that time were not destroyed and have been released under Freedom of Information rules. They show that it was the UK authorities pushing reluctant Swedish prosecutors to pursue the case against Assange. Eventually, Swedish prosecutors dropped the case after running it into the ground.
In other words, the few documents that have come to light show that it was the CPS – led at that time by Keir Starmer, later knighted and now Britain’s prime minister – that waged what appears to have been a campaign of political persecution against Assange, rather than one based on proper legal considerations. https://jonathancook.substack.com/p/judge-threatens-to-break-the-uks

The west’s wars in the Ukraine and Middle East are purely Banker’s Wars.

All Western governments are heavily in debt to the Bankers.

All Western political leaders, if they want to get and stay in power and have more money to spend, must obey what the Banker’s tell them to do.

If a politician defies the Bankers, then new debt financing is simply cut off, or they are killed.

I am convinced more than ever, that Trump has been told both the Ukrainian and Middle East Wars will continue.
He can only change the tone (sale) of the narrative.

The Middle East War will follow the classical pattern of truces, where Israel simply continues to constantly break the truces, while the MSM simply doesn’t report the Israeli violations.
Simply a slow boil war, or the west’s non-war War, or economic war.

The Ukrainian War will however continue to the last Ukrainian as previously scheduled.
I am mostly ignoring what Trump is saying, as mis-direction.
Yes, sure, Trump is verbally brow beating Ukraine’s Mr. Z to draft 18 year olds, as a threat.

But I am watching what is happening, instead.
    Talk is cheap.
And I am hearing a lot of talk.
Confusion only results, when comparing talk with actions.
    Russia isn’t confused at all!

Russia now has raised a new half a million man army just to fight the war in the Ukraine.
    They are proceeding very slowly.
But Russia now has raised over a million new men in their arm forces, that they didn’t have in 2022!
What is this new army for?
To fight the US and Nato.

The West is steadily attacking Russia with missiles.
    Why is Russia not responding?
Likely, because their new 1 million man army is not fully equipped yet.
Russia needs more time, as much time as it can possibly buy!
And Russia needs to build up it’s stockpiles of new defensive and offensive missiles, since it has a very
small air force compared to the US and Nato.

The West will keep pushing Russia until it to finds the pain threshold, where Russia can no longer afford to buy anymore time!

The Russians told us back in 2022 that they were planning for the war in the Ukraine to last until 2026 or 2027 at least.

Notice the Russians are still grinding away slowly in the Ukraine.
They are steadily refining their battle tactics.
This new strategy uses more drones/dispersed men, and less armor.
What does Russia have more of than the West?
    Yes, trained frontline ready soldiers!

The Russians don’t want the Ukrainian frontlines to collapse suddenly, at least not yet.
The current frontline trench warfare is still drawing in new US, Nato, and Ukrainian resources.
Russia needs to reduce US and Nato missile inventories some more.
Russia still needs to destroy the largest army in Europe.
Before facing the US and Nato.

Have you notice what China, North Korea, and Iran, are doing in the meantime as Russia buys them more time to get ready for the Banker’s War?

P.S. In 2024, China restricted drone/drone components exports to the West. Wonder why?

    Fair enough.

Housing being what it is, we have no idea what any sensible housing would be like or cost. None. It is entirely fabricated by lawyers, with no actual construction work or experience going on. This also bends the price of, e.g. cinderblocks out of what they “might” be, and wood which *MUST* be stamped. No Amish sawmills on site for me!

Think: material sciences, applied to Tesla or the Apollo rocket. None of it has ever been used. None.

Think you could carbon-fiber an earth ship to be underground with 90% passive cooling and no fire hazard while ALSO being so invisible the entire SoCal canyons look uninhabited? I do.

Gee, why do we have all the problems? A: Nothing’s been tried. Nothing. “We’ve tried nothing but it isn’t working!!!”

And here it was FIFTY years ago they ALREADY did this with a few hippies in the desert driving a broken VW bus and not $20 to their name and it STILL worked better than every split level ranch. But that would be “Competition” where there is a “Market” that is “Voluntary” and we don’t do that. If that were the market people wouldn’t live in depressing, deadly houses with debt up to their ears until they kids are on drugs, they get divorced and commit suicide.

#1) Since the convicts are convicted for doing all sorts of bad things as Jews, does the sentence get applied to the random Jew who did not personally do any of those bad things? I mean, if somehow (as unlikely as this might seem to you) a Jew proved beyond reasonable doubt they did not personally do the bad things does that let him off the hook, or does he get lumped in with all of the evil-doers on general principles?

#2) What if non-Jewish evil-doers (meaning people who do the exact same evil stuff, but just don’t happen to be Jewish) get caught up in the dragnet get treated the same as the Jews, or do they walk because they’re just Goyim?
