Ivan Aivazovsky, The Galata tower by moonlight, is georgeous, rich, with light just grand…
He was a master of waves AND light, look at that moon!, yet until quite recently I had never heard of him

Well, you’re the one who introduced him to me; to my undying gratitude.
Ivan Aivazovsky’s paintings are a feast for the eye; and a meditative gift…
The moon (Phra Jan in Thai) defines, or rather, is central to the composition.
I’ve probably exceeded my pay grade but it’s how I feel…
Your comment also begs the question; why is he so obscure?

I wonder; is it because he’s Russian?
Oh the horror…
The more I dig into Russian history; the more I’m left in awe; truly one of the planet’s great civilisations.
Demonized by an insecure west; Russia is about to wow the world with its art, literature, history, and most prominently its science.
The west can only be shamed by its incompetence and failures; both in economics, and in its political ideaology..
