Am always amazed at the success/difficulty in painting fabrics – in this case piles of heavy tapestry and silks, which provide a nest-like soft surrounding of the scene. The use of contrast/light gently and intentionally illuminates the female form and all of those glorious curves. Hat-tip Rembrandt for choosing to capture this moment in time – without his help we would not have paused to see (and experience).
