[See the full post at: Debt Rattle October 30 2016]What I can’t understand is the hysteria about the debt. If a sovereign country borrows overseas in its own currency then all it has to do is print money to pay it back. Yes, it might, just might, cause the currency to fall vis a vis other currencies but isn’t that supposed to make exports cheaper and so help the country get back on its feet? The problem only occurs when a country borrows another’s currency. America’s dollar is the world’s reserve currency so I can’t see the problem for America.
