There are only two political parties (functionally) in the US because most all Americans are simpletons when it comes to politics. They’re just too unsophisticated & distracted to handle a multiplicity of political ideologies that can’t be co-opted & watered down to be either “a” or “b”.This suits the powers that be just fine and they so dominate access to the means of communication that any substantial change in the current setup is unlikely. Frightening thought that the nuclear armed world “superpower” has a population demonstrably only capable of counting thus: “one, two, …too many”
