Steve, are you familiar with the work of Tom Campbell ?

I’ve been to realitysandwich.com a couple times as a result of links found at his book’s forum.

The seed heirloom movement is quite new to me, less new to me is the ‘consciousness movement’.

I grew some dry heirloom beans to have on hand for seed. Black valentine, northern, and kidney, This was last year. This year I hope to grow a few sunflowers for seed, along with some tomatoes for eating and seed. Also squash, eggplant, zucchini, cucumbers, peas and melons. So I expect to have a few different seeds around here ready for planting.

Also, in the many of groups I have had the privileged to be involved with over the years, seed swaps were a major event in early spring, and plant/seedling swaps in late spring. It can be a core activity in any group that helps build a sense of connectedness and sharing.
