    Beautifully said Ilargi.

I caught up for drinks with a small group of friends last night.. we haven’t all got together for quite a while. Amongst the various musings on the recent NZ election, the upcoming US one, it was laid out plain – a couple of the guys have swallowed the double-down wokeness pills whole and recite the MSM chapter and verse. Myself and another guy having polarised the other way, much as you describe above. And the other two who don’t follow politics left looking completely baffled by it all.

But despite the differences of outlook, we can all agree that the Uniparty continues unmolested, and despite the polarisation of views male/female, woke/conservative, BLM-following/law-and-order etc, the discussion that is conspicuously absent is around class-based politics. Which is as relevant as it ever was, but the most threatening thing to the Uniparty, if the struggling underclass were to recognise they have far more in common than the differences they’re encouraged to perceive.

And for the first time in a long while, what I felt within the group was the power in being able to disagree forthrightly on many things, and then to state and feel the unity and commonality of people who’ve known each other a long while, through good times and bad.

I do wonder whether despite the appearance of complete polarisation and distrust between factions, there is a consensus of dissent slowly forming. 2021 is gonna be amazing – stock up on popcorn..

Ilargi, I always enjoy these articles wherein you get to expand on your thoughts. Many thanks!

I know it’s hard work and tiring, and the situation often seems hopeless; however, like it or not we are at war, and it would be shameful to sit idly by, watching the conflict from a safe distance.

“Aye, fight and you may die. Run and you’ll live — at least a while. And dying in your beds many years from now, would you be willing to trade all the days from this day to that for one chance, just one chance to come back here and tell our enemies that they may take our lives, but they’ll never take our freedom!!” – William Wallace (Braveheart)

I have never spent a year so completely baffled by the world as this year. Nothing makes sense to me without invoking some seriously bizarre thinking (which I am not averse to doing.)

    My reaction:

The game hasn’t even started yet. We’re still just warming up. Still, baseball is not the right analogy, that’s a civilized sport, this will feel much more like gladiators in the Forum fighting to the death. Biden has neither the energy not the -killer- instinct for that.

I can nod in the affirmative to both of you.
I’ve been watching from afar for just more than 17 years. And what I’ve seen is an unrelenting downward spiral on the domestic front…how far, and what the majority will ultimately do, I can only guess…
The increasing use of militarized police againt even peaceful protesters, gives a strong indication of just how far this has already progressed…I’m not optimistic; even a little…

    Ahhhh! A coffee break discussion.
    Subject: Yesterday is gone.
I have memories of having group discussions, before the web existed, during coffee breaks, and coming up with our solutions on what the bosses should have done, should do, to fix the social/economic problems that we were made aware on the previous nightly news. Back then, we believed that the nightly news was news and not opinions, (like today).

Nothing has changed. The bosses are still not paying attention to our solutions.
Like this morning, the news media,(???), trotted out Larry Kudlow to puff up a GDP of 33.1% and to project a great future with trillions of $ of stimulus package, that is coming. (after Trump win the election).
Meanwhile, million of peons will be end up on the surplus pile and
Hurricane ZETA is breaking windows that cannot be replaced.

Got to go, My coffee break is over, I got to take care of business. Thanks

You haven’t seen the Americans take a swing yet. It’s like watching WWII from the Frozen War through the London bombings. History: inevitable. Juggernaut: unstoppable.

Don’t wake up the Yanks. None of y’all will like it and somebody might get nuked.
