Tsipras seems to either have lost heart, has become suddenly desperate, or he never intended to take Greece back on a sovereign path. Which is it? This is surely one of the best Greek plays since classical times. What is in the heart of the man? What shall become of the people?
DEGParticipantI sincerely hope the Greeks vote no, but I bet they vote yes. I think most people are completely out to lunch with understanding modern life in all its complex financial and political realities. Then there’s the complex social realities. It’s a toxic mix for simple humans. Then add technology and software updates, the great warper of minds that promises to confuse 99% of the people. Our species has gone insane. A psychopathic elite rapes the planet and the mass of people without any moral or spiritual compass. The sheeple are willingly psyoped and herded into slaughtering pens. They don’t even see the stun gun aimed at their heads.
DEGParticipantIt will be interesting to see what develops in Iceland. It’s obvious that this is the direction needed. Are TPTB strong enough to thwart this effort?
I was married to an Icelander for 20 years and did business there. They are one big family. They are all well educated. If any culture can take their power back from the banksters, they can do it. Once they reach critical mass on anything, they always follow through.
DEGParticipant“Russian military plane over international waters 25 miles from the UK coast is “real and present danger” to NATO. Yet… Yet yesterday US combat vehicles conducted a military parade and show of military force in Estonia just 300 yards – yards! – from the Russian border.”
Evidence for severe narcissism disorder. Project upon others the motivations that one actually has oneself. This is classic stuff. The sooner we can realize the pathology of the people in charge, the sooner the house of cards falls.
DEGParticipantTo be human is to be delusional. Everywhere we look, we are afforded the chance to deny reality. Society is set up that way. It is not that hard to fool the masses. We want it that way, lest we recoil in horror at the extent to which we don’t understand the cosmos. We just want food and water, sex and a roof over our head. We want a big daddy god and we want to be told that the planets have always been safely in their current orbits, and that the universe runs like a dependable clock. We want a good bedtime story so we won’t have to worry.
Bankers can print unlimited amounts of money, politician’s can lie through their teeth – just about anything goes, as long as we aren’t physically in danger. Nothing will change until we get hungry. We, the coddled masses in this country would rather eat cake than revolt.
Collapse will be a slow grind down the hill, a series of stairsteps. I like Kunstler’s term, “The Long Emergency.”
DEGParticipantI don’t think it will take 10 or 20 years for gold to reach its new value threshold. The paper price suppression game can’t go on indefinitely. The lower the price the faster it’s being hoovered up. Supply and demand dynamics will kick in when the physical supply is no longer available. Like Mark_BC I think we are seeing last ditch suppression efforts before the system craters. The metals will continue to be crushed until its over. What’s on the other side is anybody’s guess!
DEGParticipantI am really impressed by your news aggregation. I peruse many such sites, but rarely do I find the layout and the selection so succinct. I just sent you a small donation. I will return. Thanks for all that you do. I know it’s a challenge to keep the pedal to the metal, but we’re all rooting you on!
