Why on earth would one consider North Korea the greatest threat to America?

North Korea has 25 million people incapable of surviving in a 21st Century society. Seoul and Beijing are legitimately terrified of what they’d have to deal with if the Pyongyang regime collapsed. North Korea has had military programs for decades in order to ensure maximum leverage over Seoul and Beijing to provide the subsidies needed to keep the regime in power and to prevent the DPRK from collapsing into an ugly mess. Any “solution” to the “North Korean problem” would require agreement between Seoul and Beijing on how to feed those 25 million people and the trillions of dollars needed to somehow integrate them into the modern economic world. If they had a plan, Tokyo and Washington would undoubtedly help, but they’ve had decades to think up a plan and (probably correctly) recognize this is a problem that makes Syria and Iraq look like child’s play.
