I cannot imagine where or how you put together a POV like that, except to assume, you are buying the western media lock, stock, and barrel.
There are no good guys here, but clearly the U.S. and the EU are trying their damnedest to physically contain Russia. Merkel is a major player supporting the U.S.’s lead in initiating a coup in Ukraine. Merkel also has supported the sanctions, even if somewhat reluctantly.
The U.S. is also pushing a fifth column movement within Russia, pushing hard on regime change. You might want to check out John C. Tefft.
May I suggest a little reading from outside of the echo chamber?Historically, Afghanistan trafficked in opium, not heroin. There is a huge difference. Heroin requires labs, chemicals, and expertise.

Who has said there is no Russian military involvement? What is said is, there is no physical presence/involvement. Critical reading/thinking are tools that, lacking, leave one crippled.

I know a little bit about Ukraine and its historic relationship to Russia. The U.S. is operating in an especially ignorant and dare I say, criminally, irresponsible manner.
Oh, and everybody already knows Russia is supplying equipment; the point is there are no regular Russian troops or motor divisions in Ukraine.
The man himself, Putin, said there were Russian volunteers and soldiers on leave/vacation in Ukraine. Even the OCSE (independent observers) have said they have seen no Russian troops.
So, again, what’s your point?The ceasefire was broken at 2 am in the Cauldron, by Ukrainian troops.

The gods be good, there is so much “out there” and I’m an expat in SE Asia (12 years) with no access to English language books; and not trusting western media; good information is not easy to come by.

See, I don’t see Yanis Varoufakis as someone who would come unprepared. I think for one thing the fact that he doesn’t come all dressed up to the nines for meetings with Osborne et al says he did prepare. You can just feel the likes of Osborne go: how come HE doesn’t have to wear the stiff stuff?

There is the potential solution of changing the global financial system, beginning with “the shock of 2015″.I think there is no doubt the financial system is changing. Iceland started it, but nobody followed. And now there is Syriza with Podemos, hot on their heels
The question is; what will the U.S. do in response? These types of changes usually cause war. The Chinese curse is upon us; indeed, we are living in exciting times.
Spain and Italy may be the proverbial straw; but whose (and how many) back will be broken?Agree with all.
