Eugène Delacroix Liberty Leading the People 1830 (French Revolution of 1830)

In January 2023, US special counsel Jack Smith applied for -and received- a subpoena for Twitter, specifically for all of Donald Trump’s utterances at the site through the years, including the ones he may have never published. Note: the subpoena came long after Trump left Twitter. And no, it wasn’t X then, and therefore it is not now. He wrote it when it was Twitter. Important. Trump left Twitter (was cancelled) on Jan 8 2021, Elon Musk bought it on October 27 2022, and renamed it “X” in late July 2023. Just so we get our horses and dogs in line.

Special counsel Jack Smith received his Twitter/Trump subpoena with the added provision that it had to be entirely secret, not even Twitter or Trump could know. US District Court Judge Beryll Howell gave Smith what he wanted, agreeing that if Trump’s years-old Twitter past was known, he would become a flight risk. But both Smith and Howell knew this was absolute nonsense. Not only is Twitter the last place you turn to when you have nefarious secrets to hide (it’s the opposite!), but the man is running for President, for God’s sake! And because of some 5 year old -or so- tweets he would pack in the family and disappear to an -underground- bungalow on Vanatua, never to be heard from again?

I would put this down as the moment when it became impossible for the US to have a presidential election in 2024. We’ve had some 8 years of this anti-Trump circus now, non-stop, Hillary, Pelosi, Adam Schiff and Robert Mueller, yada yada yada, but I don’t think we’ve reached the point before where the elections might as well be cancelled. We’re there now though. And that is a BIG point. We’ve let it come far too far. We’re in slapstick territory.

Think of it as a boxing match. In the one corner, we have the former champion/president, wearing the slightly widened red trunks. At age 77, he looks somewhat bruised and battered, but he doesn’t look beaten- yet. What’s noticeable though is that his corner is empty, except for Melania cleaning his brow, not even his own party is there to support him. There are some 90 million Americans behind him, but they are at home.

In the other corner, the defending champion, in blue trunks, weighing in at about 25 pounds and falling, looks a little lost. But behind him in his corner he has thousands of operatives: his entire party, plus the CIA and NSA and FBI and DOJ. And all the newspapers and TV channels and social media in the country. And all the judges and prosecutors, the DAs and GAs, it’s a veritable love-in. The guy in the blue trunks could be braindead and he’d still win. And I wish I was a cartoonist, and could capture the entire image in one frame. I can see it in front of my eyes, but I can’t draw it.

Where the boxing analogy goes astray is that in this case the blue side is allowed to harass the red side before, during and after the (preparations for) the fight, and during the fight itself. You can’t a have a free and fair fight, and a level playing field, if some “blue operatives” can put shackles on the ankles and wrists of the red candidate, or even lock him up while he’s preparing for the bell to ring. If the system allows him to be a candidate, it must also allow him to prepare for his candidacy, in the same way that his opponent can. That is not happening.

US special counsel Jack Smith has announced that the US plans to drag Trump before court after court starting January 2 2024. At least 3 major indictments (will be a dozen) , likely many more, and at my last count, 82 charges (it’s impossible to keep up). Smith can then finger pick any of these charges to put Trump in custody, whenever he feels like it. The judges are almost all “blue”, and so are the jury pools: New York and DC. And this is while he’s supposed to be campaigning!

And also: Trump allegedly already spent $40 million on legal expenses. But what if Trump doesn’t have $40 million? We could argue the $40 million should be spent on his campaign. Look at Imran Khan, guys, who was just convicted to a 3-year prison term in Pakistan on US directives. Like Trump, he is the most popular political candidate in his nation, and they got him on selling necklaces when he was PM.

That is Trump’s future too. And hence, the end of American democracy. He doesn’t stand a chance. And if he doesn’t, the system doesn’t, and you don’t. You’re fine as long as you agree with the boot stomping on your neck, and you maybe even enjoy it. But if you don’t, Jack Smith and his ilk – and Obama, Hillary, Adam Schiff, Pelosi, the whole gang, will come with charges and indictments directed at you.

You’re on the verge of the abyss. if you want to take your chances with what you might find down there, fair enough. But always know that you have a choice. And that, if somehow they do manage to stage a presidential election in November 2024 as things stand now, it’ll be fake from A to Z. Grow a pair, people, grow a backbone. You’re going to need them.

Also i think you’re incorrect with regards to the fact that American “democracy” will be dead if Trump is arrested. Its been dead, both parties are owned by mega corporations, they’ve been rigged and fixed for years. All Trump did was unmask the charade.

They already control the counting of the votes anyway, locking him up just adds more redudancy just in case (0.000001% chance?) they get busted rigging the votes.

I don’t think this is about redundancy or insurance against a possible loss. This is clearly intended to make an example of him to all those that might be tempted to dissent.

SYRIA UPDATES: Explosion close to U.S. base in north-east and ISIS attack Syrian Arab Army bus , Thanks Eleni.
US continues to commit war crimes in Syria in support of ISIS , Vanessa Beeley
These young men were still in school when this war against Syria started. They lost brothers, fathers, mothers, sisters but here they are, sacrificing everything for this country. Despite all the hardships, all the darkness, all the savagery they face, they will keep fighting for each other, for a glimpse of a future even though they have never known what a future is.
The West will never prevail. The blood of the martyrs will protect Syria and even though my heart breaks for these broken, stolen lives – the courage of these people defies all description. If only we in the West could exhibit such courage against our ruling axis of evil with it’s manipulative, perverted, cold hearts. This world would be a better place. Don’t let these souls die in vain...
..Om Al Fouz from Taldara, close to Salamiyah, has lost five sons in the genuine “war on terror”.
“When I lost the first one, I felt as if I had broken my back, I lost the second one only fifteen days later – I thought my heart had broken. Then the third, the fourth, the fifth, each time I grew stronger”.
Om Al Fouz also told me: “I have 25 grandsons, I am ready to give all my children for this battle. We are all ready to be martyred, this is our country, our dignity, our honour, our morals. We will never leave this country to anyone else”.

Simplicius looks at the new Russian CBDC, Central Bank Digital Currency, which is a transactional currency only. He spends a lot of exposition explaining differences between Russian banking, and western banking, which has broken ties with Russia in every way, including the BIS and the SWIFT format. Russian banking is largely a state utility, though there are private, for-profit banks. There are fewer of them, a progressive decrease since peaking under western neoliberalism in the early 1990s.
These private banks complain that the CBDC will compete them out of business, but Putin replies that the CBDC will not pay interest, so it won’t compete with them for customers who want interest-bearing accounts…
That is the start of an interesting segue to Islamic-banking. Russia is setting up a network of Islamic Banks, which are distinguished by not charging interest, so this CBDC will be consistent with Islam, and consistent with traditional Christian injunctions against usury (modified by Roman Popes to fund Crusades and pogroms as “investments”).
Islamic banks have a form of sharing profits and risks in any enterprise, joining as partners in the enterprise. This is not new, and it has worked for thousands of years.
This CBDC platform is therefore palatable to Iran, and to other islamic nations. Other CBDCs envision the banker being able to remove or modify funds of a depositor, but this appears to be based upon a much more respectful model.
Islamic-style finance is inherently stable, not prone to blowing financial bubbles. I have long thought it to be a very good long-term system, which avoids creating debt-slaves.

War By Other Means: Short Selling JPMorgan Chase , BY ELLEN BROWN Thanks Christine.
    The Targeted Crypto Banks
SVB, Signature and First Republic were not insolvent: they had sufficient assets (largely long-term Treasuries) to match their liabilities. They were just “illiquid;” they lacked enough readily available funds to meet the unanticipated deluge of deposit withdrawals in March. In fact, no bank could withstand a bank run in which 85% of its depositors demanded their money back in the space of three days, as happened to SVB that month.
As of December 31, 2022, SVB had roughly $211 billion in assets, which were primarily offset by $173 billion in deposit liabilities; but it had only $13.8 billion in actual cash and “equivalents” – liquid money available to meet withdrawals. It had been flooded with deposits from tech startups funded by venture capitalists, and the startups did not need loans. The deposited reserves had therefore been used to buy Treasury securities, at a time when interest rates were so low that only long-term securities provided an adequate return. Some were marked “hold to maturity,” meaning they could not be sold at all; and the rest could be sold only at a major loss, since old bonds attracted few buyers after interest rates on new bonds shot up in the last year.
Yet many other banks had followed that path, investing in long-term assets that could not be liquidated or could be liquidated only at a substantial loss. So why did only SVB, Signature and First Republic wind up in government receivership? As explained in my earlier article here, they were considered “crypto-friendly” banks. In a revealing article titled “Operation Choke Point 2.0 Is Underway, and Crypto Is in Its Crosshairs,” blogger Nic Carter details the “coordinated, ongoing effort across virtually every U.S. financial regulator to deny crypto firms access to banking services.” Whoever instigated the raid on the three targeted banks, their stock was heavily short-sold, driving share prices down. This alarmed the venture capitalists, who alerted their tech startup clients. Word spread quickly by social media, and the bank runs were on.
    The Infamous Bear Raid
In a 2010 article titled “Wall Street’s Naked Swindle,” Matt Taibbi showed that the bankruptcies of both Bear Stearns and Lehman Brothers, which triggered the banking crisis of 2008-09, were the result of targeted short sales. He wrote:
[W]hen Bear and Lehman made their final leap off the cliff of history, both undeniably got a push —especially in the form of a flat-out counterfeiting scheme called naked short-selling. … Wall Street has turned the economy into a giant asset-stripping scheme, one whose purpose is to suck the last bits of meat from the carcass of the middle class.
Even countries have been victims of targeted short-selling of their currencies…
..Banks are vulnerable to short selling only if they are publicly traded. State-owned or city-owned banks are impervious to that sort of attack. The Bank of North Dakota, our one and only state-owned bank, is a stellar example. It cannot be short sold and it is not vulnerable to bank runs, since over 95% of its deposits come from the state itself. The Bank of North Dakota also acts as a mini-Fed for local North Dakota banks, extending a lifeline in the event of capital or liquidity shortages.
Like the U.S., China has a vast network of local banks; but most of its banks are government-owned. We may need to follow suit as a matter of defense. We need to ensure, however, that the governments owning our local banks actually represent the people. Banks should be public utilities, serving the public interest.

Ecuador Descends Deeper Into Chaos Following Assassination of Presidential Candidate Fernando Villavicencio
In what appears to have been a highly professional hit job, Fernando Villavicencio, one of the eight candidates in Ecuador’s upcoming presidential election, on August 20, was assassinated on Wednesday (Aug 9). The candidate was shot three times in the head by sicarios while boarding his campaign vehicle after a political rally in Quito. Nine people were wounded in the shooting. One of the purported assassins died in police custody after reportedly sustaining a bullet wound during the hit…
..The Ecuadorean police say the six suspects arrested in connection with the assassination are Colombian, which prompts the question: are they ex-military? This may explain their ability to pull off three head shots from a distance in the middle of a crowd. It’s also worth recalling that Colombian mercenaries were also behind the assassination of Haitian President Jovenel Moïse in 2021…
..Before his assassination, 59-year old Villavicencio was placing fourth or fifth in most polls. He took a particularly hard line on the drug cartels that have made life insufferable for everyday Ecuadorians over the last two years. “Being silent and hiding in moments that criminals kill citizens and officials is an act of cowardice and complicity,” he said. “I double down on my decision to go on fighting daily to defeat the mafias.” …
..But as notes former British diplomat Craig Murray on his blog, Villavicencio’s anti-corruption campaigning was “selective and aimed only at making accusations against left wing figures.” By contrast, he bitterly opposed the judicial process against President Lasso on corruption charges, calling it “a legal atrocity” that leaves the constitution “in rags”.
He also helped Luke Harding and Dan Collins fabricate the Guardian’s infamous front page story that Paul Manafort and Julian Assange had held pro-Trump meetings in the Ecuadorean Embassy, which was never corroborated by any other newspaper. As Murray points out, the story was fabricated in order to breathe new life into Clinton’s flagging “Russiagate” invention.

Former President Donald Trump has declared that he absolutely believes that the 2020 election was stolen – a denial of the central allegation in his most recent federal indictment…
On Aug. 8, President Trump said, “I never even thought of this one: ‘Trump didn’t really believe he won the election.’”
He emphatically told the audience of 2,000 at the high school in Windham, New Hampshire, “Let me tell you … there was never a second of any day that I didn’t believe that that election was rigged.”

It Was Pelosi: Former Capitol Police Chief Reveals ‘Set Up’ Behind January 6
Perhaps most damning is Sund’s claim that then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) refused to authorize the deployment of the National Guard at the Capitol despite Sund’s pleas, and that federal agencies withheld information and warning signs of potential dangers prior to the riot.
“It doesn’t seem like people really want to get to the bottom of it,” said Sund, adding “It really doesn’t. And it just gets worse. It gets worse from there.”
Sund got approval to bring in the National Guard at 2:09 p.m. Before his approval, he alleged that he begged several generals, including General Michael Flynn, to bring the National Guard. The officials told Sund they did “not like the optics of the National Guard” as he allegedly begged for their assistance to intervene in the violence. -Daily Caller
“This sounds like a set up to me,” Carlson said, adding “I’m sorry, it does.”
    To which Sund replied:
“It gets better. So I beg and beg and he goes ‘well, I’m gonna walk down the hall and we’ll talk to the Secretary of Defense or whoever he’s gonna talk to. Right then I get a notification, oh, I’m still on the call, we have the shooting of Ashli Babbitt. And I said we have shots firing, I still remember yelling over the phone. We have shots firing on the U.S. Capitol, is that urgent enough for you now?”
According to Sund, the National Guard didn’t show up until 6 p.m., hours after the fatal shooting of Babbitt. He also claimed that the Pentagon deployed resources to the homes of generals, but not the Capitol.

I don’t mean to be unkind or disrespectful or self-excusing when I state the fact that one cannot “lose” a democracy, or become a slave except by one’s own choice. Death before dishonor. There are worse things than death, truly, and dishonor is one of them.

Allow me to quote the advice given by my sister-in-law, Karen Broyles to one of her seriously misbehaving siblings who protested how unfair it was to insist upon honesty in all things. She said to them, “I love you dearly, but you are lying in order to get something that you want. Winning at all costs has a cost. That’s why you have no peace.”

Better to chip away with one accusation after another, action some of the corrupt judiciary, etc.

Imho, Trump won the ‘election’ against Biden — by chance I was *Home Alone* and watched the results come in – No way those were real results.

The Dems were so furious and astonished at their previous loss to Trump (as they had no clue about what was going on and just expected an easy win, arrogant superiority holding fast, sneering at the plebs) they pulled no stops to instate Biden.

Will they do the same again? They will try… So in a way it boils down to, who has the most cash to distribute for vote buying, fraud of various kinds, etc.

Biden as a figure-head has cost US Prestige dear. In the EU / many other, mocks him, he can’t find his way around, he is creepy, etc. The Great Country of Liberty and Freedom and Wow Hollywood! Super Biz and Richness potentially for All ..

While the two parties duke it out for power, they both suck to the core. The non-choice is the lesser of two evils ? The American experiment has failed spectacularly and it’s citizens refuse to call the fight as it spills outside the ring.

We can’t vote our way out of this, and every election cycle produces grimmer results.

Step back from the gladiator ring spectacle of sickening entertainment and ask yourself-
When does the Government, left or right, ever tell the truth or admit any mistakes?
It’s always “they did it, the other side did it”.

I get flipped a lot of shit here for expressing my raging disgust and hence raging pissed off contempt towards all this crap. Yeah fighting mad and the fighting arts are very different things- one a reaction, the other a trained non-emotional response.

I choose to not suppress the first while cultivating the Arts.

The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

You choose- because either way, one day you will be faced with both- a choice to fight back or be a slave- but your death is inevitable so choose wisely while you’re still alive.

    George Carlin-

If you have selfish, ignorant citizens, you’re going to get selfish, ignorant leaders.

“Now, there’s one thing you might have noticed I don’t complain about: politicians. Everybody complains about politicians. Everybody says they suck. Well, where do people think these politicians come from? They don’t fall out of the sky. They don’t pass through a membrane from another reality. They come from American parents and American families, American homes, American schools, American churches, American businesses and American universities, and they are elected by American citizens. This is the best we can do folks. This is what we have to offer. It’s what our system produces: Garbage in, garbage out. If you have selfish, ignorant citizens, you’re going to get selfish, ignorant leaders. Term limits ain’t going to do any good; you’re just going to end up with a brand new bunch of selfish, ignorant Americans. So, maybe, maybe, maybe, it’s not the politicians who suck. Maybe something else sucks around here… like, the public. Yeah, the public sucks. There’s a nice campaign slogan for somebody: ‘The Public Sucks. F*ck Hope.”
