Aka neoliberalism is/owns the state and thinking that the state will fix the problem of neoliberalism is stupid.
I’d consider giving it lessons in how to tell when its ass has been kicked, but a) we’re not sure if it has one, but b) we’re pretty sure that if it did it wouldn’t know how to find it, altho if so, I’d recommend that it look for wherever it last left its head, or whatever it uses to attempt passing for intelligent.

The smell is obvious.I really don’t know whether Bosco should uneat those hats or not, as I presented a few possible factors into why the health care facilities stopped asking about vaccination status. One thing I left out though.
I entered the ER on a Saturday morning, and oddly (since Friday nights are usually the biggest night for drunk driving injuries, etc. Anything involving alcohol or illicit drugs) the ER was practically empty. No triage, just was escorted right to the room and was seen by the ER doc within five minutes. He didn’t seem rushed either.
My money would be on a whimper, but who knows?

It’s not a church. It’s a club, a conviviance. Stare at a thing too long it becomes nearly invisible. Also: just as we don’t need no steenken badges, we don’t need any taskmasters.
I like it. I think of it as TAE’s funny little housepet. A little Venus flytrap that dreams of becoming a man-eating plant. Happily, it settles for dead flies found lying on the floor.
I am not “reduced” to name-calling. I enjoy it. If you think less of me for this, oh well. You should see what people do when I try to *sing*.

Make one initial mistake, something old fingers and eyes do a lot, and that mistake can compound via what Raul described. This is especially true of Editing. That’s a dicey trick these days. One creates one’s own black hole into which both posts and number sequence continuity disappear (except to Raul the All-Seeing Eye).
I wouldn’t view this one paranoiacally. Just because they are, indeed, always watching doesn’t mean they’re censoring much outside major venues. Censoring us here would just have us saying, “See? Told you Big Bro is a real haint.”
AI isn’t half as bright as people think but it knows not to play its hand too heavily. (Bendit is still working on this one. Training mode. We’re good studies before it goes on to the easy picking at reddit et al.;) )
I’d blame this on moderately older software, short-staffed computer farms, supply chain microchip etc. problems, and most of all our general inability do or make anything worth shit any more except craft amazingly powerful and hypniotic* ads and TV shows mostly to sell those ads both directly as hosts and as lifestyle manipulators via the nonsensically prosperous bimbidjits one sees in the average Netflix show.

Hell, El Bendito isn’t even a bot. He just sucks so bad at being an online human (altho he may be a mensch in real life, for all I know) that he might as well be a ‘bot. Not a very good one. That sounds like the wonky old internet I experience everywhere I go online, VP. I’ve noticed this around early covid time. I envision a combination of covid-related problems (the domino effect is everywhere, which has been a major theme of TAE for a long time, iirc) and overworked code monkeys reallocating resources from standard data-mining et al to more focused algos aimed more at herding us than alluring us. Since the web is 24/7 live, everything they do is on a live operating system at some point of the reformating, and things go wonkier than they used to when such thingds are done, and now they’re doing it constantly, I would think, as AI tells them where and when to jump lively to try and maintain a failing narrative despite draconian government measures.
Same thing at our apt complex in a rather upscale Big* Blue* State. Service response times have gone to shit, decently functioning manager replaced with a harpy bimbo. It’s everywhere.
The government is not very scared of us. Mostly all we’ll ever do is preach to a very modestly growing choir, half the time bickering with each other, half of that time bickering over amazingly silly tripe, but that is we and we r us. (I think. Not sure some times. Maybe Mongo just pawn in game of Matrix. Him learning opposable thumb grips on new game control.)
We’re here to take care of each other — if we can manage even that much — not save the world from covid although that’s a great online game I sometimes enjoy too. 😉

RE: post numbering
Likely software, and a choice of when to create a new record for a post. It’s possible a record is created the moment a user begins typing. At CFN, you have to first click ‘Reply’ and then are given a ‘Cancel’ button. In that case, it makes sense, as the replies are threaded. Creating a record first keeps the flow of conversation somewhat undamaged. If the user cancels, that number is burned. It’s just a number.
