Thanks for the summary & link, very helpful. I’ll dose adjust and see what new equilibrium I find.September 4, 2021 at 10:43 pm #86288John Day
Participant@Kimo:
What to do for a vitamin-D level of 101, when lab normal range is 30-100 and toxicity is generally considered >150?
I’m pretty sure there is no clear answer to your question. Data I have seen is sparse but looks like 60-80 might be ideal.
Try skipping weekends, or take 4000 units/d.
You have an unusual conundrum 🙂September 4, 2021 at 11:49 pm #86290WES
ParticipantPhoenixvoice:
Thank you for providing a good summary.
The findings seem to go a long way towards explaining why Israel is seeing a big increase in Delta cases now. Basically the vaccinated are spreading covid to other vaccinated people! Clearly many of the vaccinated believe they are now free to mingle without concern, especially with other vaccinated people!
We are special! Yes , because they are twice as likely to catch the virus!

ParticipantNote the hypocrisy in the “liberal” push for mandates.
“If you support such mandates or act in any way to promote or enforce them then you are a member of the “God Hates Fags” group — you’re just picking on a different set of people. Your position is no more defensible than theirs; indeed it is less-so since their advocacy was limited to waving signs where you demand that others lose their civil rights and liberties, means of earning a living and access to everyday life.”
But they’ll never see it.

ParticipantThanks for linking to Gail Tverberg’s article “COVID-19 Vaccines Don’t Really Work as Hoped”. This clearly explains my hesitancy about getting vaccinated.
The West’s current predicament is due to predatory capitalism that depends on repeated payday loans for treatments not a onetime remittance for a cure. The big lie propaganda and scapegoating the unvaccinated are an inevitable part of the attempt to keep the scam going. Public Health is now an oxymoron. Criminal Wealthy, the Sackler Family, who profited from the Opioid Crisis keep their billions of dollars and avoid jail time. Shortages are growing due to missing workers. Crashing US life expectancy is breeding chaos. In the end, unpayable loans aren’t going to be paid.
Unless there is a Reformation, Western Civilization falls. The succession of American States is already within sight.

Well, I think Westboro Baptist Church was a little more severe than that. When the Holocaust Museum opened in the early nineties, the WBC picketed it for remembering the gay male victims of Hitler’s reign of terror with signs that said things like “God says kill fags”. The editor/publisher of the LGBT paper I occasionally wrote for back then was actually there and saw them doing this.

Participant@Phoenix Voice: Good job unpacking that San Francisco Jan through June 2021 study on viral variants in vaccinated and unvaccinated hosts. It was almost completely pre-delta. I see no reason why the vaccinated carrier would not be effective at infecting the unvaccinated host, as well as the vacinated host. These cohorts may have had a lot of time shifting in the groups. The really big surge in January/February was almost all unvaccinated, since very few had gotten them yet.
The unvacinated dominated the first half of the time series, and vaccinated were mostly present in the second half of the time series. I bet that has significance as to the evolution of variants. The similar transmissibility, but specializing for type of host, is the kind of thing that looks for a breakout opportunity. If there really is the potential for the degree of antibody dependent enhancement of viral pathogenicity that was suggested in what I posted August 23:
“Here is a specific mechanism of vaccine-antibodies to alpha-COVID spike protein enhancing the ability of delta-COVID to enter human cells, once the spike protein anchors to the cell. This is demonstrated to predominate in effet over the blocking antibodies, since delta mutated and they lost effectiveness against it.”
Infection-enhancing anti-SARS-CoV-2 antibodies recognize both the original Wuhan/D614G strain and Delta variants. A potential risk for mass vaccination?
Using molecular modeling approaches, we show that enhancing antibodies have a higher affinity for Delta variants than for Wuhan/D614G NTDs. We show that enhancing antibodies reinforce the binding of the spike trimer to the host cell membrane by clamping the NTD to lipid raft microdomains. This stabilizing mechanism may facilitate the conformational change that induces the demasking of the receptor binding domain. As the NTD is also targeted by neutralizing antibodies, our data suggest that the balance between neutralizing and facilitating antibodies in vaccinated individuals is in favor of neutralization for the original Wuhan/D614G strain. However, in the case of the Delta variant, neutralizing antibodies have a decreased affinity for the spike protein, whereas facilitating antibodies display a strikingly increased affinity.

Participantctbarnum- that market ticker has one commenter showing a football game video. That was one of the smilingest things I’ve seen in a long time. Not my cuppa tea, but I love each and every one of those unmasked, sardined fans. And yup- the look on the coach’s face was priceless.
Dr. D’s heartwarmingly optimistic prognostications in progress. Humans being humans.September 5, 2021 at 3:44 am #86301my parents said know
ParticipantConcerning Karl D’s attack of hornets and Covid, when my mate gets stung by hornets- and he had the same lawn-mowing incident as Karl- he takes antihistamines and applies hydrocortisone to the stings. I do the same. It works.
I also take an antihistamine when I’m catching a cold (triproladine is my favorite, but if you don’t mind the snooziness, diphenhydramine (Benadryl) is great). So I looked it up- antihistamines and Covid. (Screw the azithromycin).
Just one goggle entry:“Early treatment of symptomatic COVID-19 patients with antihistamines and azithromycin, and administration of antihistamines in asymptomatic and high risk patients, close contacts and relatives, had excellent outcomes in our population reducing fatality rate, hospital admissions and ICU admissions in this elderly population, regardless of patient’s age and risk factors.”
What is Covid? The flu? A cold? Allergies? All of the above?

There really is not much difference between the WBC wish for homosexuals and some internet commenters’ wish for the unvaccinated to die. It’s not an exact analogy (yet), but close enough.

I saw that as well. I have family that lives nearby (about 30 minutes away) and I have to admit it made me smile too, as I’ve always wanted to live in the area.

Participant@phoenixvoice – thank you for the link to that SF study on unvaccinated and vaccinated cohorts. VERY interesting findings…

“JUST THE TWEETS” is a “Historic Collector’s Series” archiving President Donald J. Trump’s Tweets, posted from his @realdonaldtrump Twitter account each year of his Presidency. You could say… “It’s History Unfolding One Tweet at a Time”… in President Trump’s own words!
It is my hope that The “Just The Tweets” Collector’s Series (8 volumes/8 years), will be enjoyed by all and handed down to your future generations.

ParticipantThe SF study — yes…it was a small enough, localized study that what it found (different variants for vaxxed/unvaxxed) doesn’t necessarily hold true generally or everywhere, but it does strongly suggest that the unvaccinated place one type of evolutionary pressure on the virus while the vaccinated place a different evolutionary pressure on the virus. It would be interesting to find out if other studies in other places/times find similar results.
Personally, I’d like to see a study of what type of immune responses occur when the vaccinated catch Covid and survive. Do they then have long term immunity? Will they no longer be vulnerable to Covid, despite initial (and perhaps subsequent) vaccinations? Also, we know that Covid vaccination of Covid survivors causes a very large antibody spike. However, after that spike in antibodies wears off, do they retain their initial robust protection from Covid? Or does the vaccination monkey with their initial natural immunity?

ParticipantGiven the amount of great discussions here, and how hard it is to keep up and find stuff from one day to the next, how would people, and especially Raul, feel about creating a TAE private Discord chat server?
It seems pretty easy….https://www.businessinsider.fr/us/how-to-make-a-discord-server -
