Of the MOP attack on Iran, Secretary of State Rubio said, “They had all the pieces in place to have a nuclear weapon. . . now, not so much.” Mr. Rubio’s Sunday chat with Maria Bartiromo is well worth a listen for clarity. He also succinctly stated, “They [Iran] are the sole source of instability in the entire Middle East, and the world has been paying a price for this for forty-something years.”
Yet, the American hive-mind is aflame with histrionic hypotheticals over Iran…
Curious that in this SPECIFIC instance, which is any decrease of friendliness to Israel must be perpetrated by non-human animals.
Kunstler has access to, is acquainted with, all the various “conspiracy theories” and non-MSM news sources, analysis. How telling is it that he nevertheless is totally, completely locked into a particular mindset regarding Israel, despite its total dissonance with everything else? HOW this ONE thing?
And it is telling that, being in that mindset, he’s experiencing some fairly heavy-handed paranoia that Americans might be “histrionic” in the sense of “unreaseonable” (dawning realization, ever-increasing reasonableness…) towards Israel.
What does the “concern” over American “historionics” boil down to? The concern over daring to THINK LESS OF Israel? Conflated with anti-semitism?

I was sent to re-education repeatedly when there was a scenario in which someone did not properly use a pronoun. There was a list of answers, what to say to the pronoun-person. Obsequiously apologizing and swearing to always obey their command was one answer, which I knew to select. But I also selected “Sorry you were offended. Iran has been planning and preparing for decades. In that time, it must have been obvious to their planners that NATO radar, awacs, drones, satellites, intelligence analysis, logistics, communications would all be behind whatever enemy they faced and untouchable. We have heard much, lately, of reducing government costs. DOGE recently saved us $8 billion and the new tariffs are said to have netted us about $20 billion. Through our close ally in the Middle East, we likely spent $100-200 billion this past weekend.
I am therefore requesting a full financial audit of our relationship with Israel. Due to current events, this report needs to be generated and reported to the American public quickly.
1. What is the inflation-adjusted 2025 dollar value of all aid we have given to Israel – not only money and munitions, but an estimated dollar value of all economic, intelligence, diplomatic, espionage, and other forms of assistance.
2. What additional costs have been incurred by providing such aid – eg. terrorist action against the US specifically motivated by our aid to Israel
3. What inflation-adjusted 2025 dollar value of aid or other assistance have we received from Israel? What else, of dollar-quantifiable value have we received from Israel?
4. What is the dollar value of any form of aid we have received from Israel AFTER subtracting out any aid from Israel to the US that was aligned with Israeli military strategy, espionage, and foreign policy, as well as any partial mitigation of #2, the costs incurred on the United States by sending aid to Israel?
5. What are the top 5 opportunity costs, calculated in total inflation-adjusted 2025 dollars, of providing aid to Israel? eg. a better space program, solving homelessness, funding libraries or hospitals, preventing deaths of despair at home, or the American public simply keeping the money. What specifically, quantifiably, could we have had?
I think what we will find is that we have not received, in any quantifiable way, anywhere near the dollar value of benefit in exchange for what we have given. How has the United States benefited? We have, instead, received something far more priceless – friendship. Israel is our greatest friend.
Therefore, I cannot emphasize enough how important it is, if we regrettably must cut costs and curtail our assistance to Israel as a result of this report, that we express our continuing love, respect, and friendship to Israel. A Congressional resolution to that effect would be highly appropriate. Israel, our friend, must be comforted that they will continue to have our love and friendship, which is priceless, that we will continue to reciprocate their priceless friendship with friendship of equal value.
It is urgent that this cost-benefit information be brought before the American public asap so the nation can make informed decisions regarding current events. Perhaps a formal request to temporarily reassign DOGE to this task could be made before Congress, as they seem to move quickly and are focused on discovering costs.

Both sides seem to agree that less missiles are being launched per salvo from Iran now. Reasons given differ:
–Pro Iran: Iran has overwhelmed Israel’s AD. They are low on/out of antimissiles and now Iran is doing MORE damage with LESS missiles, as Iran’s missiles are not being shot down anymore. Heavier payload missiles are being sent now that the interception rate is way down.
–Pro Israel: Israeli planes are operating freely over Iran and have progressively knocked out so many launchers that Iran is reduced to small salvos. Getting smaller all the time. Soon to be almost none.
I’ve seen numerous repetitions of the rumor that Iran was hit with drones in the exact same way that Russia was hit with “spiderweb.”
