Hi Ashvin – I agree. I guess I’m one of those new agers you refer to and my take, at this stage, is that we need to be careful about our state of being. We could perhaps focus more on our own state – making that as highly functioning as we possibly can. This would be a state of being, which as I understand it is extremely peaceful and powerful. Once we have done that, how does the rest of the world look now?

I suspect we would stop being fearful of what is to come. We would still see the imbalances but would know our own place in it and make the changes in our own circumstances as best we can.

I’m a strong believer in attraction. If you worry and fear the future, those outcomes you focus on will come true for you and vice versa.

I know this all sounds like hippe tree hugging mumbo jumbo but even if it sounds and reads clumsy, it feels like it’s about right. Pretty intense dude. 🙂

Why can’t you guys be positive for a change? Yes, there are a large number of catastrophies ranging from the puny social ones (like the putrefying finanacial and polictical systems) to the awe inspiring natural ones (like climate change). And yes, the scale of these have been amplified by our gross incompetance over the last 150 years or so.

Humanity has made big changes in the past when our backs are to the wall and we can make them again. There may be large chuncks of society that fail this test but there will be pockets that succeed brilliantly because we see through the murk and pick up on the possibilities.

We are not hard wired for instant gratification. We have been trained. This can and will be dropped off with all the other chaff when things get real. I wont be stealing from my neighbour, I’ll be breaking down my fence and planting a really big vege patch.

I will care about what is happening elsewhere too. Who knows, this might be the birth of a new version of humanity. One that has shuffled off the self interest closed (and rather vicious) loop and recognises we are together here – I couldn’t give a rats about the perpetraitors, their world is not mine.

You guys all want to play by the same social system rules, albeit different set of rules to what we have now. How about something completely different…

Through the short term pain we learn that the only way to organise ourselves is through a significantly heightened sense of service to humanity and the planet – our values attached to individualism is reduced in direct correlation to the devaluing of our egos.

Use that as your golden rule and John Lennon’s ‘Imagine’ starts to ring true. Don’t need boundaries, just respect. Don’t need money, just trust. Don’t need a war either BTW. There is no rule out there that says we need to go down pain street for a long time.

How about we use this pressure cooker experience to evolve rather than at best stay the same (only smaller) or devolve a 1000 years or so.

    Bravo indeed!
A magnificently merciless rant. Hard to disagree with much if anything. I would add a touch of the light side though in that I wont die. I’m going to be shining a light with everybody else who choses to wake from their slumber.

I will ignore and move past the 1% pigmorons and evolve out of the stinking carcase of our current and soon to be well dead society. There will be plenty of others who will flourish too.

Money wont be around much – if it is, it will be the ‘community’ kind. But I will give a shit about my neighbour and they will help me raise my kids (pair of snotty angels already).

I’m ready to learn and accept a higher purpose for those of humanity that are left. The reptilian-brained ratbags who control now will consume themselves rather messily and I will not engage in that feast.

What a wonderful time to be alive!

I’m not qualified to disprove the economic and cultural analysis on this site but I am educated enough to think that it is probably quite close to what is going on and the economic predictions of the future are probably pretty close too.

A straight reading of many of these posts should lead a rational person to want to figuratively sh!t themselves (maybe literally too). That is not a good outcome.

This article though is a breath of fresh air in that it is getting there in terms of understanding what the appropriate response should be.

The Sh!tting yourself response does, in a funny way, describe your intent – “I will be afraid and react accordingly”. That’s a clear message of intent. This takes a person further away from understanding their true self (individual and connected – we are designed to do this together).

The response should perhaps be, as a group, we’ve pooped in our nest big time, bugger. Now how do we organise outselves differently now to cope with the mess and develop something better? In other words, I’m ready to move on/up – I don’t need to know all the intricacies of how we got to this point.

Those that have allowed themselves to be depowered by ‘the system’ will fall. Those that keep their power will rise above it and develop something new and exciting. No brainer.

Let’s build/create something new that as far as possible, utterly rejects or at least ignores 90% of the crappy rules we are compelled to live by now.
