    Gold:

    * Is best understood simplistically and not technically
    * Unlike the middle ages when gold was popular the average person now cannot afford gold
    * Gold is for speculators in good times and hedgers in bad times
    * Gold is going down because goldbugs cried hyperwolf too many times
    * Gold has no value
    * When the system collapses into a pile of goo gold will still have no value
    * Gold has been loved for 6500 years not for what it gives but for what it takes
    * Gold is valuable because unlike the Mona Lisa it can’t be created

    * The sun showers the earth with gold
    * Gold is intransient and has indestructible aesthetic uses
    * Gold anchors the souls of deluded men; It is the opiate of the asses
    * Gold is surrogate lickware, fondleware and biteware for juvenile oglers that can’t get a real woman
    * Gold makes a poor wipe
    * Gold is more valuable as coins than as bars
    * Asian societies like gold because their timeline is more recessive

    * The velocity of money determines its impact; Falling money velocity accelerates business pessimism; Sales tax could regulate the velocity of money as it left the muzzle; When the Inuit rule the world they will have a sales tax

    * People are tightening up; Even fools are figuring out that doom is upon us; They are going more places and eating at more restaurants

    * Know one knows what is going to happen and those that do ain’t tellin’; At some point collapse will be between 3 and 10 years away

    * An omniscient government is also omnivorous

    * The NSA is as a great Eye, lidless and wreathed in Flame; It will pin you under it’s deadly gaze, naked and immovable

    * The Big Picture is passe’; It’s all been done before; Zero Hedge tells us how to invest our money; We need TAE to tell us how to spend our time

    * 1.0 was peak TAE; Articles are the cake, comments are the icing and Shorpy pics are the glass of cold milk; TAE Community is stagnant and suffers from anaerobic decomposition; TAE could be linked-in for doomers

    * TAE had a bad spell but it’s past now; TAE 2.0 is on the wrong platform; TAE had to leave Blogger because the incessant attacks were far too entertaining; TAE 1.0 only allowed one front page article at a time while Stoneleigh, Ilargi and Ashton were all shouting “zoom in on me”; TAE 3.0 will transform TAE into part of TPTB

    * Please post video of Stoneleigh’s Ontario Compound; Please include lots of footage of the gold bullion storage facility, the stills and all three weapons caches

    * TAE is innoculation against fear and ignorance; Immunitly allows us to discuss panic, fear, conflict, and near term extinciton openly; I & S should be more involved in the comment section

    * Time is hyperbolic and doesn’t yield to cryogenics; TAE community is diverse geographically, economically and chronogically; One size doesn’t fit all; The future will be blogless

    * Deprivation looms; Adopt, adapt and improve; Hoarding skews one’s perspective; Jettison your pleasures and embrace incongruity; Food, drink and sunlight are vastly overrated

    Screwing the Young

The young will get the short end of the stick
Until they manage to amass some power
Their day will come when oldster all get sick
Their star will rise as boomer prospects sour

The powers that be say something must be done
But this lip service doesn’t yield results
They sacrifice my daughter and your son
To keep their power; Their hubris revults

We all hold on to what is in our hands
Despite the consequences for the young
And when our wealth slips through like transient sands
Our innocents atone by being hung

The aged beggar youth. Can we not ban it?
Lest heartless fossils vote youth off the planet

    * All economic activity is leveraged on a marktetable food surplus; Credit is leveraged on accountable food storage; The greatest shortcoming of the human race is eating seeds
*Compound interest is neutral unless written in Comic Sans; Debt can increase faster than growth; On a long enough timeline the growth rate for mould is infinite
    * Interest is great for the haves, not so great for the have-nots; When immovable finity meets unstoppable infinity what happens?
    * Interest is like Brylcreen, great for the young, marginally useful for most oldsters; Bert and Ernie should teach all children about compound interest; Everyone can become wealthy and retire at 40
    * Compound interest is nice work if you can get it; Compound interest means you need a compound to isolate yourself from your borrowers; The government destroys savers and rewards debtor; Compound interest is going the way of the dodo
    * Compound interest has worked for hundreds of years; Long live compound interest; Wealth is better than poverty; Why must the left hand hate what the right hand is compounding
    * Why must we have perpetual growth? Why can’t people just be celibate?
    * I vote for no debt, no interest, no congressman and no hawaiian pizza; Let’s all just get along; There’s no place like utopia
    * A monopoly on credit creation leads to inextinguishable debt; The business cycle is a euphimism for the blowing and popping of bubbles; The hopeless tragedy of our positional incredulity is absurd

    * Don’t blame the Rook when your Pawn gets sacrificed so the Queen and King can live in the Hamptons; Good doesn’t combat evil, evil combats itself
    * Faith in complex institutions is disintegrating; Are the buffoons running things or is it malevolence or maybe just evil clowns? Brit taxi driver knows all, tells all
    * We are at an unknown place on the collapse continuum; There’s no second guessing economists; System managers don’t grasp common sense; When your only tool is Occam’s razor every problem looks like a haircut
    * There is not enough cash to go around; TARP can cover a multitude of sins; Shaved savings will bailout big banks; Debasement is too slow and scary; Threatened savings motivate consumption; 90% won’t be able to buy bread; The other half will be on food stamps

    * Happily in the long run we will all lose but until then it just isn’t fair to the first victims

    * Americans have no clue about other countries’ elections. For Americans the remote is boring and inconsequential unless it is in their hand.

    * Illuminati are the powers that shouldn’t be. They have done a hatchet job on Ron Paul and control all democracies. They want one world governed by them with only a billion useful eaters to make cocktails and run their bath water. Consolidating power in a supra-national organization is the way they make points. If they get close but can’t score they will kick your balls through the goal posts. Get ready for the Hunger Games.

    * New TV’s have built in cameras. Big Brother is watching you watch Jeopardy. He must be really bored.

    * NWO will have a governmental arm, a military arm, a financial arm and a propaganda arm, all controlled by Durga the warrior queen.

    * Communism is an iron fist. Capitalims adds a velvet glove with a Nike swoosh on it. Let’s Do It.

*Toy army men are now only available in the UN variety; Most people aren’t ready to hear this but when they are I want them to know about https://www.plastic-army-men.com.

Even working perfectly a bunch of comment threads on specific topics is less attractive to me than the old comment threads. The obvious reason for me is that it is impossible to summarize a bunch of concurrent threads. That difficulty aside I still prefer a single thread. The old site felt like a community because I could go there and easily see all the comments. I might skip some I was less interested in but overall it was like going to Cheers; We were all in it together, there was a great cast of characters and everybody knew my name. Where does one now go to see what El G or Greenpa or Gravity has to say today possibly related to none of the current articles? Breaking things up by topic is great for information retrival but that is not the primary reason I went to TAE. If I just wanted the info I would go to Wikipedia, CNN and ZeroHedge. But if I wanted thoughtful analysis with community I went to TAE (BTW, try reading the ZH comments some time. Heaven forbid TAE comments should devolve to that brawl).

My suggestion is that the forums be turned into a Wiki where people don’t comment but rather contribute so that over time meaningful articles on things like water storage develop (This seems more useful to me than a comment thread about water storage anyway). This would develop a truly valuable resource and given the expertise of the board would probably be of high quality. For comments I suggest that TAE return to a single, easily accessible comment thread for feature articles and maybe none for commentary articles. This would recapture the sense of community that I enjoy and more importantly, this would support my addiction to compulsive summarization.

    Thanks.
