last january, the air smelt funny, so i bought 4 months worth of food.
good thing i did. my wife was sick all of march/april with the thing. i didn’t have to go to the store, thus quarantining ourselves, and also avoiding the scary lines and toilet paper fights.
last night, we bought 4 months worth of food again. the smells even funnier this time.

Myself, I’m with b). Best solutions?”Since I am deemed a worthy topic although I do no gain-of-functin viral research or influence natinal monetary policy or hatch global domination schemes, and a referendum is called for, I’ll cast my wvote with a).
I think you guys should circulate a petition against me. Form a committee. Get a rope or at least some tar&feathers or maybe an app for dissing dissidents. I’ll be away doing real things in physical reality, but I am oh so excited to see what has become of me when I return in a few days.
This is fascinating albeit in a sadly predictable way. We are the neighbors in our neighborhood.
And remember:
I’m with a) – not to be anyone’s friend – although I happen to like Bosco Horrowitz but I am instructed by the permaculture maxim – the problem is the solution. I’ll drop my thoughts here on the madam tribunal, though I’m not inviting debate with this and won’t respond to responses debating it. Simply making a personal observation that is maybe worthy of consideration. Maybe not. Of no consequence in my personal life so I don’t care.

@Doc R: One thing that confuses me about that chart is that for the first wave, deaths radically exceed cases. Could that be because “cases” in this graph are all the cases that were ultimately non-fatal, while fatalities were placed in a category by themselves with no overlap?
Or one could just do with madamski what I do with Dr. D’s tirades. Skim the first paragraph to see if the offering might something compelling and then promptly move on once it stops making anything one might even remotely call logical sense.

Keith Olbermann made something of a name for himself with Team Blue in the wake of President W’s invasion of Iraq by criticizing that President and his policies in some pretty fiery terms. That he recently made some kind of public apology to Bush Jr., and that a lot of neo-libs are trying rehabilitate that former president, really drives it home about Team Blue having no real remaining moral compass.
And BTW, Olbermann’s TDS makes Rachel Maddow look like the very voice of reason itself in comparison.

There is no one more authentic, beautiful, and wise than John Day who always brings perspective with LOVE. Madam and Dr D offer insight and depth – painful and pleasurable. Contributors – Sumac, NY, Phoenix, Arnold, oxy, Mister, Zero, Doc, Germ, Kids, Michael and the rest of the cast, make this a true reflection of LIFE and a daily destination worth exploring. The formula is working, let it be.
My role (in between the occasional rant) is to bring LOVE. Remembering that we always have a choice in how we respond to LIFE, we perform according to “plan”.

Some food for thought brought to us by socialists, echos many sentiments that I’ve heard expressed in comments here.
“Right-wing” encompasses both dems and repubs, who differ only in terms of messaging– no person of integrity would belong to or support either party, neither of which serve our common interests.
The question is, how to bring them down?
Years ago, after a few cocktails with friends, pushing my bike while walking home with some of them through a gentrifying part of the city and passing a newly-built, high-priced (“exclusive”) condo complex surrounded by high walls and a tall, barred gate at the drive, we bitterly conversed about how all they needed was a moat in order to completely cut themselves from the neighborhood. I think my bicycle lock somehow got attached to the gates, in effect, double-locking them. All we needed was a “KEEP OUT!” sign facing inward and the picture would have been complete, but alas, we had neither cardboard or pen.
Just a reminder that walls and gates work both ways.
If only Yves would give them a scathing tongue lashing, like she did me when i suggested Dr’s and Nurses are human and corruptible. TAE summary, something you failed to mention with your two narratives. One is being pushed with all the resources of all world .govs and corporations, the other is being censored and ridiculed and essentially strangled in the crib. What does that say? One has been consistently incorrect and forever revised as this bad television show continues. What does that say?

@Mr. House, WRT of “Consent Factory” article: I think one of the reasons it took me a while to wake up is how hard it can to admit things really are getting as bad as this article describes. I mean, I foresaw things taking a very dark turn back in 1994 when I realized that “nothing is going to save us”, but I certainly didn’t predict anything like this. But then again, I was a 27-year-old going through a psychiatric episode, so maybe I just didn’t want to think about it too deeply.

@UpNY: Keith Olbermann played a leading role in standing against the invasion of Iraq. In those days he was a lone wolf and non-stop rant machine! Anyway, I was a fan because this was also my position and there were few advocating (with gusto) to stop the march to war. In the end, the voices were silenced and the will of the people was over-ridden and Rummy/Cheney got their war. It was through this experience that I UNDERSTOOD on some level where words do not exist – that the whole thing was fixed from the start. The will of the people did not/never mattered. Around that time Olbermann “got fired” ? and disappeared.
@Mister: the “conversion” and “resurrection” of KO is interesting. The complete switching of sides in defense of what? This corruption is something I struggle to comprehend. I agree that it is at the heart of the destruction of Team Blue/Democratic Party – and so much more. Welcome to #OPPOSITE LAND.
