ParticipantIf you run into a rhinoceros in the morning, you ran into a rhinoceros. If you run into rhinoceroses all day, you’re caught in mass psychosis and you better take preventative measures.

ParticipantAnti-vaxxers are the new Flat Earthers
again, please, please, please stop with the clichés.
here, try these:
those opposed to these injections are like those who persecuted galileo.
or
can’t those against covid-19 vaccines see the tremendous benefit this technology brings?
or
failing to leave behind antiquated notions of medicine will be the downfall of those raising unfounded doubts about vaccine efficacy.
but no, we get:
You anti-vaxxers are hooked on conspiracy theories spread around far-right websites. You voted for Trump twice, think it’s ok to endanger others just so you’re not “inconvenienced” by a harmless mask, and spend hours pouring over “data” spewed out by “doctors” that not even the bahamas would certify.

Participantevery time i hear or see an f-15 or f-22 or f-u fly over the house, for an airshow or opening day of some sport, i wonder what nearby residents who are refugees from yemen, syria, libya, iraq, afghanistan, somalia, sudan, croatia, serbia, bosnia, vietnam, laos, and cambodia [to name a few] think and feel.
what did little kids from these places think and feel and relive and have nightmares about?

Participanthaha, mr. roboto, sorry for the cryptocity.
i was going to write “the town”, or “my town”, but then i thought i’d see what people said about their own town.
i have used “the wheels goes round and round” to sardonically (i hope) express that humans tend to do the same dumb stuff over and over.
but today, it just felt like the “over and over” had been replaced by something even less logical and even more dangerous.

Participantthe mexicans crossing the rio bravo are:
a) most likely unvaccinated,
b) more likely to have natural immunity through prevalent infection (household transmission is extremely common – households in méxico are vibrant, busy places),
c) more likely to be familiar with ivermectin (medical use is becoming common; many are former livestock farmers put out of work by shafta),
d) somewhat likely to be carrying ivermectin (various entities give out “kits”. plus, these folks can watch cnn, too. they know that DELTA® está en todos lados,
and
e) most likely young and strong (and thus less likely to carry anything) because i) they do a lot of physical labour; ii) are going north in order to send money back to their parents and grandparents who could never survive the trip and are very afraid of getting covid; and, iii) are capable of walking many kilometres through desert.
that being said:
a) the biden administration is using people in a way that is an affront to human dignity,
b) the people supposedly in charge of stopping the above mexicans are more likely to be/have the opposite of the factors listed above,
c) being an illegal immigrant in méxico is not easy. ask any gringo who wants to work in cancún for a few months,
d) the need for a guest worker program is more than obvious and that the depths of depravity greed will drag the human soul is quite disheartening.

Participantfrom madamski’s testimonial link, the number of occurrences of:
pain 409, advice 8, hospital 122, heart 196, sister 5, tired 34, job 17, pressure 73, explain 2, nerve 55, help 73, doctor 101, couldn’t 56, wouldn’t 7.
when that’s you, that’s statistically significant.

my beloved beloved just returned from the doctor. she’s having heart problems, most likely from having been through dengue thrice, chickenpox, various northern flus, and especially, 6 weeks of covid last year.
anyhoo, she just saw a doctor at a clinic, WHO DID NOT EVEN MENTION INJECTIONS. nada, nope, niente.
there is hope.

ParticipantDuring a Covid-19 press conference,
• er, fifteen minutes of fright, you mean.NSW
• oh, no, dystopiaville!health offical
• [sick – hehehe, good one.]Jeremy McAnulty ‘misspoke’ and inferred that all Covid patients in intensive care had been vaccinated when in fact none of them had been fully vaccinated.
• er, what about the other hospitals in the other places? The video of the mistake has been widely shared on social media.
• good. these people stick their faces in our dinners everyday to tell us how awful it all is to be a happy human. tat for tit, i say.A single post on one Australian page which regularly shares vaccination misinformation
• yep, we should only listen to miss information on fully fact-chequered media sources. she knows everything.had more than 1,800 ‘interactions’, including almost 300 ‘shares’.
• ¡VIRAL!In less regulated online spaces,
• not for long.the video has been shared globally among conspiracist groups.
• enough with the clichés. it’s frickin’ annoying. let’s use some creativity, por favor. In US-based Telegram groups clips of the video have been seen tens of thousands of times across various groups.
• good. Some called it evidence the vaccine is ‘deadly gene therapy’ and ‘pure poison’.
• that’s dumb. some pollywog screwing up the night’s fifteen minutes of fright is nothing. sending my father to the hospital for 2 weeks is “pure poison”.The Guardian
• hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaalso saw posts sharing the video in Telegram pages in Europe and the UK

Participantif we have case numbers, hospitalization numbers and mortality numbers, why don’t we have covid’s mentality numbers? seems to me that the R0 would be somewhere between those of chickenpox and measles.
and what about covid’s morality numbers? just doesn’t seem very transmissible at all..

Participantthere’s no way an obesity warning will ever come out for covid. such a move would destroy one of america’s three remaining industries, highfructose hotdogs (the other two being deathmachines and financialfeverdreams).

ParticipantWashington D.C., February 2nd, 2023 (AP): Representatives of Blackstonerock Group announced today the acquisition of a 66.6% share of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Distribution, thus adding to their growing portfolio of decision-making entities.
“We feel having this agency under our belt will enhance our standing in the realm of public policy, allowing Blackstonerock’s investors an even greater opportunity for substantial returns”, commented a company spokesface.
Blackstonerock’s latest takeover comes on the heels its previous purchases of Wendy’sbioNtech and the Hungarian Navy.

Participantodd? i’ve had posts rejected with no links, no odd characters (besides the author!), short, long, no matter..
some i’ve just scrapped. others, madamski has helped with links (thanks!). some i edit, others i break up.
i always copy now before i hit submit. i am more surprised when a post goes through than not.
again, thanks for a place here. i don’t write lengthy posts with stats and facts – those areas are well covered by many excellent commentators. i do hope my approach of cynical humour adds something. every court needs a fool, for if we can’t laugh at ourselves..
