DNI Tulsi Gabbard unveils intel reorganization, downsizing after bombshell weaponization revelations

Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard on Wednesday unveiled a massive reorganization of the U.S. intelligence community that will cut hundreds of positions inside her own office and put pressure on other spy agencies to do the same after bombshell revelations over politicized weaponization of intelligence. The current plan will cut about 40% of the ODNI workforce and save taxpayers more than $700 million per year, refocusing the agency on its core mission as the central hub for integration, strategic guidance, and oversight of the U.S. intelligence community, officials said.

“Over the last 20 years, ODNI has become bloated and inefficient, and the intelligence community is rife with abuse of power, unauthorized leaks of classified intelligence, and politicized weaponization of intelligence,” Gabbard said. “ODNI and the IC must make serious changes to fulfill its responsibility to the American people and the U.S. Constitution by focusing on our core mission: find the truth and provide objective, unbiased, timely intelligence to the President and policymakers.

Le Pen also got a good two year jail sentence PLUS a subsequent two year house arrest. That”s how you get rid of political opponents; Those Romanians don”t know how to do it.

Before I forget, I did figure out (trial and error) what happened to the X videos. Before, you could control/click (Apple) a video to get the embed code. Now, you have to go to bottom right corner, where under Share, you choose Copy Link. It sort of moves you from anonymous to known source.

Haven’t watched/listened to the Lavrov/US bloggers video yet, but the first thing I think is ‘he gets it’. He knows that is where media have moved. It’s not NBC, it’s X. His schedule is insane, but he makes the time. Try that with any of the EU ‘leaders’. For them, Nap and Larry are threats they must stay away from. Imagine Macron, Ursula or Kallas sitting in Lavrov’s chair. “Ask me whatever you want”.

in reply to: Debt Rattle October 26 2024 #172587

    John Day,

What about the Ekathimerini Soup Kitchen being charged with 600,000 Euros “embezzlement” in 3 years? It seems like they didn’t keep records of cash food purchases or something and are being made an example of. What say You?

The article is 3 months old, and talks only about charges. I don’t think there’s been a verdict yet, let’s await that. He denies the whole thing. Innocent until proven guilty. We distanced ourselves from him 5(?) years ago, because we didn’t like the way he handled things. And I don’t think he could have mishandled much of what TAE provided before that time. We are not blind.

But this is a whole other story. He’s now accused of gambling a lot of money away. 600,000 Euros is insane. The Monastiraki kitchen via TAE gets maybe 5,000 a year. And we won’t let anyone steal that. It’s for the people.

“..picture-uploads not enabled right now at TAE..””

    Huh, what?

Nobody told me. Or Oroboros, apparently.

Wayne Hall sends this comment: Oxymoron, reader of my 14th September dog story at the Automatic Earth blog says that is “interesting to read but felt incomplete somehow”.

For him/her and for anyone else who likes stories to have a moral, here is my postscript: “The actions of Kennedy in the Cuban missile crisis, for the few months remaining before his assassination, enjoyed a flattering ambiguity. Putin is conceivably not Khrushchev and Sir Keir Starmer is certainly not John Fitzgerald Kennedy. For Mr Starmer and his allies, whether their destiny is to be alive or dead, there is already – and henceforth will be – NO ambiguity benefit. They will have either the fate of Khrushchev or something much much worse.”

More from last night. Noirette disappoints me:

Yes. TAE used to be about energy and the economy dependent on that (a bit like Gail T., link below, site, Our finite world, at least to some degree.. )

I explained about energy and the economy, extensively. BTB, You will never see Gail mentioned here. Long term readers may be capable of explaining why.

IT posted world wide news. Now it has become a purely US-mainstream news commentary site, focussed on ‘top’ USA issues as touted by the MSM, such as Kabala vs. Trumpy, which is interesting as an example or internal political moves and propaganda, but not important for the state of the world, as US Presidents from either side of the aisle pursue identical policies while fooling the public with ‘switcheroos’… Still there are many good posters here.

That’s pretty insane. No world wide news?! All I’ve been trying for years is to steer TAE away from MSM, and she steers it back. And I’m not that crazy, I know I succeeded to a large extent in providing a different view from western media. That people are not aware of that effort, and that that costs me a lot of donations, is maybe a different story. But I still know.

From yesterday’s comments (more about that later):

    Dimitri:

    This site is becoming increasingly:

    1. Very USA centric and
    2. So last day’s news.

More US? Nah. Always like that. Well over 70% of readers are American, so that will be reflected.

For example no mention today of the kitch-woke fest that was yesterday’s Opening Ceremony in Paris.

Now it’s a bad thing I don’t watch the Olympics opening? My, times change…

But we have piece after piece about the assassination attempt that happened last century and if it was a bullet or a piece of glass when we all know what it was.

It’s not every day a US president gets shot. And even that goes through the lies machine. I think that warrants attention.

Meanwhile Europe is burning while is transforming into an authoritarian nightmare but this is treated as an afterthought that takes place in the margins of the Trump campaign or the machinations of the chaotic Democratic Party.

Europe has ceded its voice to the US, Trump or Dems. Not my doing. But Europe’s news is made in the US. Also not my doing,

Last day’s news? 95% of “news” is. And I have no roving reporters at hand to speed that up.

in reply to: Debt Rattle Bastille Day 2024 #163548

Just last week, Joe Biden said:

Then last night happened, and Biden’s reaction was:

“I am grateful to hear that he’s safe and doing well. I’m praying for him and his family and for all those who were at the rally, as we await further information,” Biden told reporters hours after the incident. “There’s no place for this kind of violence in America.” “We cannot allow this to be happening..”

But you cannot both call for violence against your competitor -and we all know what a bullseye stands for- and at the same time condemn it. You knew what you were saying, how people could interpret it. You literally “allowed it to happen”. You even encouraged it. Trump would never wish the same on you. He wants to beat you at the ballot box only. And a debate.
