    @John Day
I have no inside knowledge. The one thing I am sure of is that the more sophisticated electronic gear is, the easier it is to mess about with it. Obviously, if this story is true, the aircraft would also have had to contend with the interference. It sounds a bit like an electro-magnetic-pulse generator. Something fairly basic, but effective.

There is plenty of hubris in the West that is for sure. I hope the world moves back to some sort of equilibrium – which served us very well during the first cold war – and that no one power gets it into its head that it can do what it likes with impunity.

It seems that the Russians have two economies: raw materials and military gear. In order to be able to produce their raw materials, they have to keep a powerful military to stop others from trying to grab their natural resources. Elementary really. 🙂

Earlier this year, it seems that the Russians sent another “message” to the West – that its most modern naval combat system was fallible. The same technique works against similar systems on land.

“The Aegis Combat System is an integrated naval weapons system developed by the Missile and Surface Radar Division of RCA, and now produced by Lockheed Martin. It uses powerful computer and radar technology to track and guide weapons to destroy enemy targets.”

    About MH17
It seems that the Russians are sending a “message” to the West. This particular video is almost certainly fake. However, it was from a Western satellite and they do have the genuine video. They are telling the West to tone down their bluster about MH17 or the real video will be released. Very Russian.
It also seems to have worked as Obama did not actually blame Russia or the Separatists of shooting down this aircraft. Look carefully at his wording at Brisbane:

All the governments of Western Europe know perfectly well that it was an American-inspired false-flag operation, but they continue the denials. As for the MSM, they have suddenly become awfully quiet about what is really happening in Ukraine. The whole thing is unravelling and no amount of BS is going to put it all back together. So who are the real terrorists now? The “ragheads”?

I think this Ebola thing might shut down air travel before too long. It seems that there are some strains that can be transmitted from person to person without touching.

Here is a very scary article which explains that the death rate is far higher than the published figures. Essentially, because of its rapid spread (doubling every 4 weeks or so), counting the dead and dividing it by the infected gives a figure much lower than it should. The real death rate is more like 80%. Of course, no one has any idea of the effect on life expectancy of the “lucky” survivors.

“It will be excruciating embarrassing for NATO to learn that their new best friend in the region might just be responsible.”

From my observations of the way things actually work, I think you have this back to front. This was almost certainly a “Made in USA” false-flag. The fact that the media in the West seems to have been primed to expect a scoop says it all. Quite possibly, the pilots who carried out this act are either Polish or American. I suspect the Ukrainians are just doing as they are told.

Don’t forget that Rasmussen – secretary general of NATO – was a cheerleader for the Iraq WMD lies.

“Iraq has WMDs. It is not something we think, it is something we know. Iraq has itself admitted that it has had mustard gas, nerve gas, anthrax, but Saddam won’t disclose. He won’t tell us where and how these weapons have been destroyed. We know this from the UN inspectors, so there is no doubt in my mind. ”

It seems that some anonymous person/organisation has put down $30m as a reward to whoever comes out with the details and proof of what really happened to MH-17. Here is the link, it is in German as the investigative company that has been given the task is German.

    https://www.mmnews.de/index.php/politik/20710-mh17-30-mio-kopfgeld-fuer-taeter

Here are some of the things they want to know:
Who shot down the aircraft MH17 on July 17?
    Who ordered the firing?
Who covers the fact? (even though it should have been a politically, economically, militarily accidental firing)
Who can give details about the circumstances that led to the shooting?
Who was directly involved in the shooting?
What has become of the people who were involved in the shooting? What happened to the murder weapon?
Who can name the person (s) who approved the firing?

The reward also comes with protection and a new identity if necessary.

I can’t wait to see if it flushes them out. The MSM seems to be ignoring the story – as usual.

I just hope they don’t kill the low-level perpetrators to keep it secret – like they did to the team that supposedly killed bin Laden

“The US should, and could, have taken care of business in Iraq at any point since 1990. It didn’t. And it’s hard for me to accept that it never wanted to. It’s much more likely that hubris got in the way, that there was the idea all along that it never had to know all the ins and outs of the territory to be invaded. That having the biggest guns is always enough in the end. And now it’s clear that that didn’t work the last few times around, and what do you think the ‘new approach’ is? Right, more of the same.”

    Ilargi,

Once again, you are in denial. You were in denial about 9/11, and since the MH-17 you seem to have become less sure.

Now, you are in denial about the fact that Israel – the USA is only doing Israel’ s bidding – has always aimed to destroy these countries. Israel has also always aimed to force the Jewish populations of these countries to leave – preferably to Israel. Similarly, it has always been the objective of Israel to destroy the Christian populations on the region – to force them to either leave or to die where their ancestors came from.

It seems to me that it will not be until they get the Protestants and Catholics of the Netherlands to start killing one another that you will get out of your Weltanschauung. The Americans and Israelis are not incompetent. They are evil – which is an entirely different matter.

IMHO, Dmitry Orlov is where our host Ilargi was until a few weeks ago – in denial. The sad fact that lots of Dutch people were killed seems to have convinced Ilargi that the Americans are not quite what the media makes them out to be. Of course, when it comes to finance he knew that all along.

For me, that learning process started a long while ago as I watched their antics in Iran where I lived in 1975-79. I was a staunch pro-American at university during the turbulent years of 1968 onwards – to the disgust of many of my contemporaries. I really thought that bombing North Vietnam was a brilliant idea and that the only problem was that the Americans did not do strenuously enough. A good friend of mine was convinced that the cancellation of the TSR-2 was a huge mistake as it would have sorted out the Vietcong. His father was working for British Aircraft Corporation and sold a huge number of Rapier anti-aircraft missiles to Saudi Arabia. I even had fantasies of volunteering to fight in Vietnam which I kept to myself. I was a complete idiot – I confess.

One of the useful things that one learns when one studies civil engineering, is that Isaac Newton knew his stuff. He may have made a fool of himself by getting sucked into a financial bubble like lots of others, but his laws are rock-solid for all day-to-day events. When steel girders fly out sideways at 100 km/hour and travel 200m, it is no longer an office fire. It is a demolition job.

    https://www.wethepeoplewethemedia.com/evidence_ibnyc.htm

Until a proper analysis is done and those responsible named and punished, we cannot really even start addressing the real problems. Orlov is a smart guy, and he has a technical education. I suspect he is still in denial because the main beneficiary of 9/11 is the state that would offer him a passport any time he asks for it.

“Minutes before the crash caused by a missile strike, the AI pilots had also heard the controller give the Malaysian aircraft MH17 what is called “a direct routing”. This permits an aircraft to fly straight, instead of tracking the regular route which is generally a zig-zag track that goes from one ground-based navigation aid or way point to another. “Direct routing saves fuel and time and is preferred by pilots. In this case, it proved fatal,” said an airline source. ”

Thank you Diogenes Shrugged for the video. Very interesting.

It is notable that in Australia – where the media claims that “progress” only happened because Tony Abbott “put pressure on Putin” – i.e. access to the site was provided, the bodies removed and the black boxes handed to Malaysian officials – they are busy back-pedalling.

“Having been firmer and sterner than all other leaders in his initial response to the MH17 catastrophe, Tony Abbott is now cautioning against ”facile optimism” in the difficult days ahead.

It is sad to note that the black boxes were handed to the British – the same people who have just decided to have an official enquiry into the death of double-agent Litvinenko in London. The same people who killed Berezovsky under a deal with the Russians in exchange for photos of Prince Philip. The same people who arranged an accident for their inconvenient princess in Paris so that she does not dishonour her country by marrying an Egyptian. I posted the following on FT.com – they always delete comments like mine. I wonder why?

The Russian have released irrefutable proof that

1- the Ukrainians moved 3-4 Buk missile batteries close to Lugansk briefly before incident. Satellite pictures have been displayed. The separatists have no air force so this in itself is highly-significant.

2- Two Ukrainian fighters – SU-25’s – were in the neighbourhood of the MH-17 until moments before the incident. The MH-17 were certainly within range of these fighters.

3-U.S. spy satellite flew over region at that time. U.S. should provide its own photos and data.

4- There is no proof whatsoever that Buk rockets were fired from areas held by separatists. In any event, these are complex systems and these civilians have not the required training and knowledge.

5- The Russians insist that they did not provide any such help to the separatists – while the Ukrainians have around 60 batteries of these weapons.

    https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2014-07-21/russia-says-has-photos-ukraine-deploying-buk-missiles-east-rader-proof-warplanes-mh1

The longer the Americans procrastinate – like with MH-370 – the clearer it will be that they were somehow involved.

BTW, there has been no investigation into the Maidan shootings. Also, the Odessa massacre has not been investigated and those who carried out this murderous act – many of their pictures are on Youtube – have not been arrested.

I suspect that the plane fell in the “wrong” area. It was escorted by 2 Ukrainian jet fighters until 3 minutes before the explosion – according to tweets by a Spanish air traffic controller at Kiev Tower.

It has been some months since the shootings at Kiev’s Maidan – and there no ongoing investigation into the shootings of the police and demonstrators. Similarly, the images of the people who murdered those inside the building at Odessa are freely available online – and there is no investigation into it. At least 20 people are readily recognisable and some of them have put up their “victory” declarations on their own websites.

For a long while now, I have not posted any messages on this website – because serious discussion of 9/11 and various similar operations was not permitted.

I am really sad that it takes the death of so many Dutch people for you to begin to acknowledge that it might have been a false-flag event. “Cui bono” – “with benefit to whom” – is the critical factor and it clearly is of no benefit to the Russians or the “Separatists”.

I note that the Sydney Morning Herald is telling us that a certain Dutch lady wants Putin to immediately return the bodies of her son and his girlfriend. Ilargi, Dave & VSA,

Perhaps price inflation is a useless term to you, but not to many others. The FPO index is pretty useless to people who see something different on an almost daily basis – either higher prices or smaller measures. Frankly, I don’t even know what FPO stands for – https://www.abbreviations.com/FPO

I accept that 10 years is perhaps too long for your tastes, so here is some data for shorter periods:

The price of gasoline has gone up from $2.60 a gallon when the recession ended to $3.68 today. That’s a 41% increase in four years, or an annualized rate of 9%.

The price of a Big Mac, for instance, has risen faster than the official rise in consumer prices and has been doing so since the late ’90s. In 1998, the average price of a Big Mac was about $2.50. Today, the average Big Mac is $4.56. If we were using the Consumer Price Index (CPI), the price of a Big Mac today should be about $3.40.

Supermarket prices have soared by more than twice the rate of inflation to six per cent in a year, a survey for the Sunday Mirror reveals. And some everyday items have increased even faster with the cost of fresh meat rising by 18 per cent, cheddar cheese 12.2 per cent and fruit 10.4 per cent. Bread is up 5.3 per cent.

What John Williams of Shadowstats has to say about hyperinflation is quite irrelevant to the point I am trying to make – I am only using his data since it seems to be more meaningful than the most recent official versions. I accept entirely that tax increases are deflationary – that is pretty obvious.

    Tony,

“Profit” is the opposite of “Loss”. To have “Capital”, you have to have profits that were not consumed. If you make losses, or you consume more than your profit, you run down your capital. Capital is a requisite to create wealth (i.e. food, clothing, housing etc.) The less capital you have, the poorer you are and the lower your quality of life.

Take your choice, but don’t try to impose your choice on me. 🙂

    dave,

It is worth keeping in mind that price inflation in the USA has been averaging 5% over the past 10 years – according to ShadowStats

    https://www.shadowstats.com/alternate_data/inflation-charts

Over that period of time, that would total 62% – a very substantial number. Meanwhile, interest rates have been close to zero for many people.

It is a bit like Birnam Wood moving to Dunsinane – slow, but remorseless.

    VSA,

Actually, diabetes type 2 is a disease (Metabolic syndrome is the currently fashionable term) which predominately strikes those who are poor and ill-educated. As food gets more expensive, fast carbohydrates become the food-of-choice.

In the UK, you can almost tell the class to which a person belongs by their girth – or lack of it.

It was not always like that so it is not a genetic trait

Inflation and hyperinflation, over the last 5 years, has been an entirely theoretical concern. It was a REAL concern during the formation of the debt bubble because people were madly borrowing money.

    Dave,

Your logic is impeccable. However, it is not difficult to imagine a scenario in which prices do go up. What if foreigners decide to convert their dollars, for example? No amount of printing by the Fed and squirreling by US banks would stop the dollar from tanking. The prices of all imported goods would rise and you would have price inflation in the USA – which would speed up the move away from the dollar.

The idea that since everything is dominated in US dollars then everyone will – in a crisis – load up on dollars has possibly past its sell-by date. We will see. I am not predicting anything just pointing out that we are dealing with emotions and they can turn on a dime.

I think almost everyone agrees that the USA cannot import vastly more than it exports indefinitely – it is currently over $1B/day.

Some people believe that the USA did not attack Syria with cruise missiles for fear that it would be quite impossible to repeat the Iraqi and Libyan experience. The dollar would have collapsed if the missiles missed their targets and ended up in Turkey or Israel.

I mean, the whole thing is built on a military foundation and if this foundation is found to be wanting the markets would shift pretty quickly.

“all us individuals make terrible decisions” (with respect to retirement 401k plans)

Yes, they all know how to make better decisions for us. Frankly, it smacks of Bolshevism.

    Ken Barrows,

I could not quite believe your numbers so I did it for the last 6 months of data – to get a bigger sample.

Number of additional wells = 840
    Number of additional barrels/day = 52,828
    Average increase in barrels/day/well = 62.89

If it costs $8m per well, that works out at a capital cost of $127,205 per barrel/day. If their profit margin – just for the sake of argument – is $30/barrel, this suggests that it takes $11.6 of investment to make $1/year of return.

In the table, the average oil production per well is 129 barrels/day. The numbers above suggest it is more like 62 barrels/day for the newer wells. Really scary stuff. 🙁

    Hi Sid,

Do you think our move to Australia is unrelated to the UK opting to let everyone in?

I suggest you take a look at “Planet of Slums”

I don’t quite see how undermining the working classes of the UK – by allowing massive imports of cheap labour – is a source of stability. Stability at a much lower quality of life perhaps – and with a much smaller middle class.
