ParticipantTAE Summary. Brilliant! What a tonic. I sent it around to my cohort which may include a few that might not know the ‘Ballard of Jed Clampett.’ I’m sure it will travel.

ParticipantIn 1984, the term moral distress was first conceptualized by Andrew Jameton in his book on Nursing Practice, to describe the psychological conflict nurses experienced during, “ethical dilemmas.” He wrote that “moral distress arises when one knows the right thing to do, but institutional constraints make it nearly impossible to pursue the right to pursue the right course of action”. Move onto to Johnathan Shay et al who coined ‘moral injury’. Warning rattlesnakes, landmines and my opinion are ahead. From my reading of Shay I get this. Moral injury is a betrayal of what is right by someone that holds legitimate power in a high stakes game/situation. Regards.

ParticipantLate to the party once again. John Day thanks for all you contribute here, there and everywhere. Anecdotal, while researching Pepcid I came across the following Pepcid comment. Prophylaxis, 20 to 40 mg daily. If sickened 60-80 mg 3 times daily. Monitor O2 saturation every 4 hours. If O2 saturation continues to drop. Use 120 mg 4 times a day until O2 is normal. Patient recovered. No other interventions mentioned

“Let’s do Our Civic Duty”
“I am unvaccinated because it is my civic duty to help combat COVID-19 and I respect myself, my family and friends, and I am unselfishly participating in a COVID 19 vaccine ‘experiment’ to protect the world. How about you?” Denise Wilz, Lower Macungie Township, PA.

ParticipantWas anyone thoroughly disgusted with Biden’s Afghanistan speech like myself? I would have liked to have heard some mention of Biden’s culpability in this deal. Instead it was all blame game and outrageous victim shaming. Shit, you made my day Joe, take the booster.

ParticipantFrom Stat news. “The efficacy of the Covid-19 vaccine developed by Pfizer and BioNTech fell from 96% to 84% over six months, according to data released Wednesday, a decline that could fuel Pfizer’s case that a third dose will eventually be required.”

ParticipantOff topic please. Are Cochrane Public Health reviews legitimate? I was researching supplements to slow down cognitive impairment at the NIH’s National Center for Complementary and Integrative Medicine. Don’t ask the brain washed why. Anyhowse. Cochrane reviews pretty much systematically stated they found no convincing evidence to a variety of supplements being used for cognitive decline including fish oil which has a small positive effect on almost every physiological process I can think of. The NIH can’t do their own reviews?
