Gold Bitchez. Sorry but fiat is too close to fantasy for me, like scarlett j looked great in Avengers 3D but hey, dreaming if u think it’s real.

    RE,

Sorry to quibble but money has no conscience or awareness or motivation and therefore not capable of manifesting evil. It is the Religion of Money which is practiced by us who-mans, our conceptualsations and lusts in regard to it where the problems arise. We all know what fundamentalist and extremist religions create.

    alfbel,

That psyco-spiritual is actually known albeit spread out thin across multiple disciplines. At an individual level it is also knowable, but takes a lifetimes full effort for the ordinary person to even approximate. Even though we pretty much conquered our physical environment 50 years ago we can’t get out of that “survival is a terrible and cruel struggle” motivation. Our tragic flaw.

Thing is WE, the human collective, is a bit of an abstraction, humans are actually individuated autonomous souls mostly asleep, collective action is predominately accidental or enforced by the bullies. We don’t do murmuration.

A good hard reset may just provide an opportunity to change course toward some fabled Golden Age, Age of the Sixth Sun or Age of Aquarius type thingy.

One of those terribly painful life changers like surviving canver and chemotherapy to find you’ve come out the other side with a much healthier and happier perspective, which is what my wife reports.

That is me attempting optimism and that date with December 21 is looking on schedule.

You raise more issues than you may realise with your comment, hopefully I will be able to pick up the thread of my thinking when sober, tomorrow.

    RBM,

Several reasons really, for the sake of brevity a combination of aging eyes, mid-life crisis, professional and family duties, multi-dimensional information overload cul-de-sac. etc

I had been reading 300 pages a day, non-fiction, for 25 years, everything started to remind me of everything else, so a break was needed.

My Big Toe is kinda the place where I got off the train so it’s a good place to get back on. I like the humourous approach, my wife who usually only reads medical and health care books started reading book one after I finished it yesterday and commented on the enjoyable writing style.

I am a private tutor for first year uni students (physics, maths, chemistry, human biology) and understand the necessity for Repetition in Retention and Understanding.

Anyway I’m probably rambling like an old fellow and Triv and Ash need the space for gnawing on their respective bones. Bad doggie, Sit doggie, Eat the postman doggie (spells Bovine Spongiform Encephalitis).:)

    RBM,

I was just a bit uncertain, because of a few minor communication errors, what the nature of the communications were.:side:

Got a copy of Tom’s book and am “enjoying” it after a 10 year break from reading. Thanks, a good link or reference is a precious gem and the main reason I skim blogs.

    RBM,

“Consciousness development does not occur through meditation.”

That’s a rather sweeping statement, one which can be disproven with 15 minutes meditation practice by anyone with “healthy” physiology and psychology. It causes changes in brain physiology and electrical activity, blood chemistry and state of personal awarenss/mood.

Meditation is a great way to train ones ability to concentrate and pay attention. It also makes the practitioner very aware of how much internal noise their brain/mind is generating. If one needs to pay attention to feedback from the external world it would seem meditation is prerequisite.

You can also go into “alternative realities” through it’s doorway and thereby increase your dataset.

Your comments on this thread stike me as being in the vein of “I have the authoritative information here”.

Where are you really coming from?

    Speaking of authoritative,

    Triv,
It would seem you hero worship the Authorities of Logic and Data.

The world is not Logical, nor are people and the vast majority of Data has error or noise embedded.

Seems to me your trying to present a very blurry image to the jury as proof of the perpetrators identity, if you get my metaphor.

What is most apparent to this writer is “the aggressive pursuit of reason”
that is the crutch of many bloggers (and academics). If reason was the final determinant of behaviour human affairs may be different. As for aggression, rarely does it achieve much except damage and destruction.

Of course the word Love did come up in our discussion, an understanding of which I lust for.

Oh, the worship of false idols!

Anyway, I’ll go back to lurking (and meditating) for a few months.

Youtube has great introductory stuff on just about eveything imaginable, sorry about the exhaustion.

I didn’t actually “get” the Love as Entropy concept until I read your comment, thanks.

A third categorization of this phenomena is being “out of body” and/or “seeing in a different dimension” whilst walking around in normal day to day consciousness, which of course stops it being normal immediately.

It really is a fine example of successfull mass indoctrination through propaganda the way any negative mention of the policies of the Israeli government elicits cries of “Jew Bashing”.

Sunshines post in particular was deplorably pathetic, poor little Israel, would that be the Israel that responds to a few home made rockets by bombing child care centres with white phosphorous, or boarding peacfull protest ships and using automatic weapons on the crew and passengers, or intentionally shooting UN observers in their compounds, or pulling false flags on US Naval vessels. That Israel ? The one that has just declared war on Iran?

Stick it where the sun doesn’t shine!

Just an opinion, but, THEY can fiddle the books and monetize and print ad infinitum and are obsessed enough to do so. When energy limits kick in, aint no voodoo gonna keep it afloat. Thats well before the end of the decade. Geological time scales do tend to drag on for us mortals.

    Gravity,

Irrespective of the reality in your words, love that writing style, should you write any books of quasi-fiction be sure to let us (me) know.

I’m thinking that THEY(???) have everything embedded in words and language, we are born to play out an ancient plot (? Luciferian ?) and it is transmitted subliminally/hypnotically from within both language and popular mythology/history/religion. THEY(???) have no more control over their actions than we do. Consider those ideas for fiction if you so choose.

    Beguine,

We’ve just installed a aquaponics system, edible fish in tanks excrete waste which is pumped to trays of growing media where food crops are grown. It’s been up and running for a couple of weeks and growth rates for vegetables are outstanding. We have solar power setup to power pumps.

I will get some photos and links together and post them to lifeboat, that should allay your prepper anxiety a little. The lifeboat section may be a slow growth item.

SORRY BUT HAVE TO TEST OUT A COUPLE OF THINGS HERE.

    Beguine,

I saw that wood stove post this morning.

The site seems to have various random bugs (errors) that can really throw one out, sometimes come back later or try another way (route or pathway) to get to what you are looking for works also.

Actually I can still get to your post through FORUM – RECENT TOPICS, which is where I find navigating this site the easiest. 🙂

    JoeP,

    Analytical, you mean something like this;

In the past half a week there have been approximately 75 comments, about half of what the board would have managed on the old blogger site,

430 comments since the site opened 3 weeks ago, also about one half of the old sites commentariat response.

Considering that we are now free of the frequentl drive by attacks of trolls, noting that a couple of frequent posters such as p01 and IMNobody threw up there hands and quit whilst the site was still on blogger, also noting that the rate of comments is slowly picking up.

Well, I woulnd’t call that a nosedive, not analytically anyway.

As to Ian101’s comment, it was negative, almost spitefull, and somewhat reminiscent of Cheryl, hardly community building. A tonality that should be muted as noise by moderators. I&S have been hard at it for 4 years, just maybe thet deserve a holiday anyway. It is great that they have a trusty co-worker like Ash to keep the ball in play.

My wife and I hope to catch Stoneleigh’s talk later this week, it will be great to see and hear her talk coz I love work, I can sit and watch it all day.

You’ve overcome the biggest hurdle, first posting. Just persist and in no time it will be easy, really. Change is usually a challenge, just make lots of posts for a few days, say anything, and then suddenly the lights will go on.

Glad you’ve made it. No sign of snuffy or greenpa yet, fingers crossed.

    Nassim,

Whilst this is a somewhat more complex venue, I see no reason why we can’t be who we always were. Same group of people, different room. I think we just need to “work the room” as an entertainer would say.

If the fonts are too small, most browsers have a zoom function, I know, my eyes are getting old and tired. This format has a lot of potential, it is up to us now to make it work.

Now, I just thought about posting a youtube link to an old Moody Blues song, Knights in White Satin and realised I do not know how to test if the link is working before posting. Not going to panic, I’ll work on it, very gently, let’s see how it works out.

My feelings thoughts: If I have to go to these lengths, given my life experience, current and expected health/fitness status and education, well – it’s already over and an old fashioned revolver with one bullet will suffice.

My wife and I (is that sexist/paternalistic?) have discussed this sort of stuff on several occasions and whilst we may choose different final resolutions our ultimate conclusion is that it would be pointless trying.

WE are a bigger problem than CME’s from my perspective and this is all a bit of Jungian projection – placing the problem within, without.
