ParticipantLast year year in Peru, while masks were not enforced on the streets, one could not enter the larger supermarket. mall, bank or museums without updated proof of vaccination or better yet, last required booster. People’s vaxx-cards were scrutinized thoroughly by the personnel at the door, creating the long lines on the sidewalk. However, they were less stringent, for the most part, toward those who they “deemed as a tourists”.
That, combined with the “specific batch” in the jabs, may explain GB Syndrome in such a localized outbreak.kultsommer
Participant@thomas….
There is reading, and there is digesting…
and there is smart-assing., I say.
Read Michael’s last post. Man wants to be left alone so stop putting the words in his mouth, for Gods sake!
Here is another one of yours:If he intends to show his current community how they might survive in isolation,
What would be the reason to go separate ways?
Because there was no community to start with, I may say.
Precisely the reason that US will not survive as a Nation once the “Big crash” comes. People will be left on their own while country is awash with “sovereign individuals” emulating John Galt. Which is not to say that I genuinely wish for Mich ta achieve that blissful state in it’s purest form.
I wish I can know what Solzhenitsyn would have thought of strong Russia today?
As the twist of macabre irony. the Country sailed through the collapse of Soviet Union precisely because of the safety net provided by the “equal animal farm” society that they endured, if you will.
Person in Moscow hops on free tram ride to the nearby swap-meet market, sells grandparents silver samovar or chunk from home book library, returns to his/hers apartment (that has not been taken away) with some food provisions, and creates a life sustaining meal using electricity or gas that, again, has not been turned off. In the mean time every household gets money voucher, as part of entire country’s equity divided to the citizens (OK, not necessarily 100% fair).
I am writing this, not out of malice but from the shock of dark shadowy horror that I experienced watching the tent city under the 405 fwy wide overpass in So Cal. US folks are really on their own.kultsommer

That explains it, then. Sorry for misunderstanding.
Prepare. Easier said than done. Good luck to you.@thomas…
“Lording it over the dumbs’ is really crass, kulto!!! (?????) Doing this kind of project is one of the most wholesome examples to be giving to your community.”While Michael goes:
“I am preparing for survival in isolation.”Make an effort to read first than comprehend the posts before smart-assing.

I like to free the ideas from the letters….
Trying to imagine what kind of society there would be if every business is suddenly closed overnight with the note on the door that says “Gone working on my dream plot of land”.
It is nice what are you doing but don’t let sense of “personal freedom and independence” get into your head, coz that’s not the case at all..
Isn’t it nice that stores that you must go to for supplies that you can not produce on your own are opened and the “less capable” clerks and who are “dumb enough not to have a piece of land”, are there for you?
Larry Fink happen to have much larger chunk of real estate than you.He possess necessary psychopathic inner infrastructure for a such a task – thus “more capable” than you and even more “free-er”? At some point he may own the adjacent land to yours. In his zeal and desire to squire it he may become keenly interested as what is going on your plot. Remember.the “Law” is on his side, just in case. Would it be fine to have a hovering drones over your power plant given that they are sent by the man “more capable than you”?No Man is an Island

– Aleksandr SolzhenitsynI understand the sentiment and where Splzhy is coming from but how to explain that Russia after the 90’s total collapse
bounced back so strong as the nation, while the USA….well, Jim K. in his article above tells that better than me?
Dmitry Orlov knows why, BTW. Secret ingredient is a little bit of equality goes long way.kultsommer

On this day 1983, Samantha Smith left for the Moscow, being invited to visit the Soviet Union by the president Andropov. Some may say that she had visited the future of the United States, given the striking resemblance to it, four decades later, after the take over by the communists.……Debating myself whether to insert /sarc reminder…..
I clearly remember how I was smitten by the sheer tour the force of sophistication among the gray socialist existence. World has changed and with it my urge to rush with the resolute opinion about any social affairs which are subject to change regardless. I reserve that for the art.

ParticipantI say all that because THERE IS NO WAY TO MOCK OR LAMBASTE THESE CRIMINALS ENOUGH. Nothing I could say, given 100 years in a courtroom, would adequately cover their ceaseless crimes.
They “take the ball from the ditch out into the clear and continue playing the golf as if nothing unusual happened, while laughing strait into our confused honest faces”. If robbery was done in some old fashion way we would, at least, have some respect for them.

Participant…..an opinion that if someone who thinks that the guy….
kultsommer
ParticipantAnd the current quasi-Marxist Critical Theory Gnostic Hermetic Deconstructionist Postmodernist whackoness,….
Without the urge to elaborate line of adjectives, I have to say this:
Per my best understanding and observations, great majority of non religious folks had always had an opinion that if someone thinks that the guy who cut the hole in the bed-sheet and wears it is his or hers conduit to the higher being which prevents them to “go postal” they go: “By all means please do it!” (just leave me alone).
However in the case of latter, almost majority would love, albeit quietly and covert, to enact the law where the former would be led in chains to the dungeon or even executed for not being the follower. That’s how red-eyed level of insanity goes.
One more thing:
In sports, trade associations, clubs…etc, there is always an assumption that one has to meet stringent qualifications to join it. There is a certain pride of being in the group where competence of members is verified. However in religion, that is a core pillar for many in, one simply “joins” and is accepted with meekly smiles of the congregation???
On the other hand and it may sound odd, I have a certain level of respect for people who dedicated their lives to monasteries for uncompromising spiritual journey. Which i to say that my observation of the church crowd during the attendance, out the respect for some family event, is of a mixed feeling.kultsommer

For many stress at work and exhaustion leads to gobble “something” and pass out in front of the TV.
Car culture combined with unhealthy snacks from the bag, fast food or take-out at best as way of life. Long Starbucks lines
that truly baffles me, are the sign that people do not know how or are lazy to make their own coffee.
As a sample, marmalade jar lid in the stores are decorated with checkered table cloth motif as to evoke warmth of cozy breakfast table and hearty food, which I doubt that many can make connection too.
I may add that mostly in immigrants homes, regardless of profession and how busy they are, daily home made meals are norm brought from the old country and practiced. Their kids, second generation, become “Americanized” and usually stop the tradition. Easy-peasy.kultsommer

ParticipantRe cartoon from 1934:
My understanding ( I may be wrong) is that FDR forced the mega-rich to open the purse and finance many public works (that country should be proud of given the quality of work) so they were, obviously, pissed-of and expressed their anger with “Trotsky artist”.
I would wholeheartedly support the image if I had not learned in the course of years that they were protecting the notion of:
Robbing you is my business,

ParticipantWalk on the Beach.
Dynamic masterpiece by slight diagonal position of the figures battling the light wind. In concert with the wavy garment, “power of the wind” was, rather, cleverly depicted by the water behind using the long strokes of the brash from dark to the lighter value of blue, where the latter is “hitting” the girl’s chest.
Painter must be fully immersed and dead exhausted afterwards, by almost repeating mantra to himself: “they are walking on the slightly windy beach” ….on-and-on, during his work. Level of ability to maintain that state determines the quality of the painting among other talent requirements. Such an effort to make figures “alive” and “gestures” right.kultsommer

Human caused pollution is a real thing and a real problem.
and:
Too many people consuming too many resources in a wasteful way has brought down many civilizations.
Is what I always thought is the problem.
“Climate change”, regardless if real or not, is more likely, hoisted on us as a control tool.
I may also add that overpopulation with so many people without some kind of “achievable goal” opportunity or, at lest, any job to sustain their existence leads to rampant crime.kultsommer
ParticipantA-Carp from yesterday
Again, sanity requires that we hold people responsible for what they do far more (if at all) than for what they “are,”
Absolutely true. However, people also notice over-representation that, consequently, makes one group inadvertently “visible”.
“Less harmful” wide-brush observations are as simple as who “we think are 7-11 or gas station owners or who is most likely to jump after the ball in the basketball court etc…
Or more serious as how sick it is that Montenegrin minority (trying to put you on ease) holding national money-purse, controls our foreign policy, vetting who the members of Congress and even more so who is our president should be. Cynthia McKinney had a quite a few words about her experience of being forced to sign unquestioned allegiance to that country that she refused which did cost her political career.
Case of buckling-down before that nasty little prick country: -
