Many honest free thinkers were appalled by the perversion of American ideologies, becoming speed bumps as “The Narrative” became dominant in the subconsciousness of We the People, then later labeled as kooks, weirdos & conspiracy theorists…
We are now 90 years into this new normal, with the herd indoctrinated from cradle-to-grave to accept any cognitive dissonance that arises, appeased with Bernays-esque consumerism, illusion of security for base instincts, cults of personality & FEAR.
Those in America not enthralled with the status quo began splintering into ignorant cults in the 60s, lacking a grasp of the true nature of their dilemma, completing the destruction of the patriarchy that created/protected “Life, Liberty & The Pursuit of Happiness” from despot rule, replacing it with a namby pamby matriarchy that allows the villains to run the show, unimpeded ~ –We the People became a Nation of strangers…
TPTB expanded into TBTF, raiding the national stores in broad daylight, buying out/controlling every & any move of .GOV that threatened their crimes against humanity.
Now the insanity has reached as apex, where unaccountable entities within and/or funded by the District of Criminals have unleashed biological weapons upon We the People, brazenly stolen a national election, engaged in an actual coup d’etat upon humanity at large, in effect WWIII…
Their endgame is not clear, but thus far it appears the peoples’ refusal/inability to rally into point of commonality in unison bodes extremely bad for the future.

That is not really necessary, as “most of us” are here to review information shared, along with a community that is conversing in the hope of finding a few tidbits of truth…
My point, for the most part, is to remind people how we got here, to share my “views” ~ I am human, therefore finite + limited, & just like everyone else trying to remain calm in a man-made storm none of us deserved.
I don’t know why you’re so adversarial, prone to ad hominem attacks sprinkled with foul language, but none of that is really necessary, is it?

Manhattan’s new DA has ordered his prosecutors to stop seeking prison sentences for hordes of criminals and to downgrade felony charges in cases including armed robberies and drug dealing, according to a set of progressive policies made public Tuesday.
– Armed robbers who use guns or other deadly weapons to stick up stores and other businesses will be prosecuted only for petty larceny, a misdemeanor, provided no victims were seriously injured and there’s no “genuine risk of physical harm” to anyone. Armed robbery, a class B felony, would typically be punishable by a maximum of 25 years in prison, while petty larceny subjects offenders to up to 364 days in jail and a $1,000 fine.
– Convicted criminals caught with weapons other than guns will have those felony charges downgraded to misdemeanors unless they’re also charged with more serious offenses. Criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, a class D felony, is punishable by up to 7 years behind bars.
– Burglars who steal from residential storage areas, parts of homes that aren’t “accessible to a living area” and businesses located in mixed-use buildings will be prosecuted for a low-level class D felony that only covers break-ins instead of for more serious crimes. Those more serious crimes, class B and class C felonies, would be punishable by up to 25 and up to 15 years in prison respectively.
– Drug dealers believed to be “acting as a low-level agent of a seller” will be prosecuted only for misdemeanor possession. Also, suspected dealers will only be prosecuted on felony charges if they’re also accused of more serious crimes or are actually caught in the act of selling drugs. That felony would mean facing up to seven years behind bars.

By far my favorite end-of-year recap for the last ten years. Finished it yesterday. Once again David hasn’t disappointed. He’s on my I want to go to dinner with list.

I’m game, Jim, even if it’s just a pretzel, nachos, and a brewski. The title, “Crisis of Authorities,” is a double entendre. On the one hand, previously trusted authorities that we relied on to better understand the world are long gone. Edward R. Murrow, Walter Cronkite, and Tim Russert have been replaced with Chris Cuomo, Don Lemon, and Brian Stelter. Oops. Scratch Chris Cuomo. Ponder the following: which acronymed organization do you still trust? FBI? CIA? FEMA? DOJ? CBS? ABC? Fox? CNN? At one point I would have comfortably offered up the CDC, FDA, and NIH. Portions of those three should be razed. Social media offered up one acceptable answer: KFC. The second, more deeply disturbing meaning is that smoldering socialism has veered toward authoritarianism, a seismic shift that is global and quite possibly unstoppable.

I am suffering future shock—the struggle to adapt to an abruptly changing world. Topics that seemed farcical not long ago are less entertaining now. Silly events in public schools and college campuses loosely defined as political correctness have morphed into religious wars. Progress was made in the Cancel Culture Wars. They tried to get Joe Rogan and couldn’t put a glove on him. The populace and the workers at Netflix went after Dave Chappelle and learned that not everybody kowtows:

Politicians groping for their vig—10% for the Big Guy—have mutated into total MAC (Mutually Assured Corruption). Social contagions are more virulent than biological pathogens. Attempts to stem the movements are emblematic of proto-authoritarianism of the past. I am unable to keep up—unable to even catch my breath on some days. Following up after listening to a widely distributed QTR podcast, a friend and long-time YIR reader asked, “Are you OK?” I said I was fine, but on further reflection realized I was not so sure.
He states openly that “he knows” but “can’t say”, because…contracts (and in other cases, orders, etc.) -> He can go on TV and do interviews and whatever, but can’t address xyz, or communicate some abc knowledge he has.
A great example of totalitarian control that stretches to what one voice can transmit to others… in some areas… Not flash news of course (secrets and hidden plots are, well, just human..) but the modern twist is that ppl admit publicly their communications are controlled by outside, supra-ordinate force and this is accepted! Audience Nods!
In totalitarian regimes torture, death & imprisonment (Gulags anyone?) are the instruments of CONTROL ~ In western civ the legal shystem has been employed to keep deplorables at bay, gag any anti-corp dissident communication, which now has been supplemented in the “new” age of technocracy with algo filters, banishment, social credit systems, et al. ~ Cutting off employment, food water, fuel & transportation are other acts of tyranny wielded against the namby pamby sheeple ~ All of which completely ILLEGAL under American jurisprudence, until the March 1933 advent of PERMANENT EMERGENCY POWERS by FDR…
Rights under Natural Law have suffered a death of a thousand jabs, while the herd runs confused in circles blaming each other 😐

Be careful what you wish for…
The wish persists that we can run the complex systems of modern life on alternative energy sources, but that wish is just not panning out. The realization that this is so will spread through western civ in 2022 and create more anxiety, more disordered thinking, cultish behavior, and breakdown of social norms. For now, the public arena is entirely occupied by the mass formation psychosis that first erupted around Donald Trump and then shifted to Covid-19. The stresses and tension of these demoralizing dynamics may lead in 2022 to the outbreak of political violence that will make it even harder to reach consensus on a way through our economic quandaries.
