narrative is crumb this changes astonishing turn game changeling

I recently read that R. Crumb illustrated some of Bukowski’s stuff. Now *that’s* worth tracking down.
At the moment I’m slowly, deliciously reading ‘Women’, which is not for those of High Moral Character.

Well suited to these times, though I’d much rather listen to Mahler 6.

Nookyular War would make our supra-national rulers’ lives worse, and that’s what matters (to them).
Unlikely in the extreme.. I expect a continued, slow grinding-down- much like the curious events of the last 2.5
years or so, when our “intelligentsia”- especially on the “left”- suddenly found it difficult to think. ๐Ÿ˜‰

A false-flag here or there to keep the proles’ “hair mussed”? yes, count on that, dears..

Denis Shapovalov d. Borna Coric, 7-6 (7-4), 6-0 in the Vienna semifinals. It’s real good to see Shap playing well
again! Nice, very humble move in re-hiring Mikail Youzhny as co-coach. Shap can lay into a topspin backhand
like no other current player except Stan Wawrinka; both are glorious.

Shap has to play a Medvedev tomorrow (OMG!!! a Rooskie! careful about getting Rooskie-cooties, Shap!)
who is presently #4 in the world, fifteen places I think above Shap. Medv is 6-6 in height, and I don’t
care for tall players with huge serves.

    Go, lefty-Shap! Good kid.

Some here say Xi is headed out the door in China. I have not seen evidence or hint that that’s going to happen any time soon. The same source claims we’re on the verge of Nookular War. “Samey-same”, as Joker says to his old USMC boot camp buddy in FMJ..

Show me the part that’s Not Theatre (there is one).

Shapovalov plays Coric in the semis in Vienna tomorrow. Go, Shap! Go, leftys! Go, one-handers!
Both are admirable players, though. I am glad Shap rehired Youzhny as co-coach.

I think the coming introduction of Central Bank Digital Currencies is the most important and far-reaching thing
    happening now:https://www.nakedcapitalism.com/2022/09/a-digital-dollar-and-a-digital-euro-are-closer-than-ever-to-becoming-a-reality.html

It’s interesting how anything that does not align with the “Woke”/WEF/Open Borders ruling-class paradigm now gets
    labeled “right-wing” or “far right-wing” or “white-supremacist”.

The recent election results in Sweden are a good example. There will be more, I think.

Here are the Kuijken brothers with Robert Kohnen on keyboard playing Corelli op, 5 #3:

Mr. Tooze seems in the above article to be working very hard to not see what’s obvious, attempting to convince his readers that his obfuscating views are in fact accurate ones.
I’ll stick with my earlier comment about it virtually all being nonsense-news, these days.

    Who benefits from nonsense-news?

This is an interesting blog post from a young Western guy living in Japan who does very nice work:

    Inspiration – Tokyo Chair Exhibitions

    I haven’t attempted a chair yet- they’re
hard, as he points out. The funny thing is, the two most successful ones I’ve had around- both still in my possession- are also the humblest.
    An interestingly oblique lesson, maybe.

I think we’re getting saturation bombed
with nonsense-news, and that there is an
end state desired by some entities where no once can ascertain much of anything- (except by getting off off off the screen).

The ‘net seems like a very good tool for creating that state.

Is there news that can be taken at face value? I am not seeing any, myself.
Lots of absurdities being pushed, though-
    “Zelensky” being a good example.

Gennadiy Golovkin and Canelo Alvarez meet for the third time in a prizefight, at 168 pounds this time. Golovkin is eight years older (40), and I’m rooting for him. Go, old guy with the nice jab!

The evolution question is an interesting one, and I have no solid answer. I did buy a book a few years ago
called ‘Why Evolution is True’, (Coyne, Ithink) and the author’s arguments seem to me like little more than hand-waving: “over millions of years..”, and stuff like that. Fine; but what’s the driving primeval impulse, if any? If there is not one, “millions of years” would in themselves change nothing..

A pop-sci book that had some possible explanatory value, at least to me, was Morrison’s ‘The Spirit in the Gene’, which did offer some plausible ideas, right or wrong.

The “novelist” Houellebec’s ‘Elementary Particles’ is I think the most pertinent-to-the-present reading I’m doing, though I can only take a paragraph or two of it at a time.

It’s interesting that the “news” more and more resemble a cross between a TV game show, and a “reality” show.
I wonder why that is? Maybe teevee has changed, though- I haven’t watched it for many years.

A good comment on ‘Mass Formation’ from CJ Hopkins’s website:

    [Name redacted]

“This isnโ€™t actually what Desmet and Malone are saying though. I havenโ€™t given the whole โ€œmass formationโ€ thing much attention until now. But Iโ€™ve just read Peter Bregginโ€™s analysis after seeing cladyโ€™s comment above .

Desmet and Malone are claiming there is no organised maleficence involved in the situation, that the powers that be are as โ€œhypnotisedโ€ as the masses. This is ridiculous and lets off the perpetrators. So ridiculous I donโ€™t believe this is an honest mistake on their behalf, they know what they are doing.

On a slightly different but related topic. Is anyone else suspicious of the technical babble around the contents of the โ€œvaccineโ€ โ€“ โ€œoh so they thought the spike protein would be disappear from the system around a week after delivery, but new research shows it stays around for months! This is why it causes some issues.โ€ โ€“ implying there was good intention but Mistakes Were Made. Also the whole ivermectin โ€œdebateโ€, implying there really is some terrifying plague to be concerned of, itโ€™s just the response has been fluffed somehow.”

    Yes, something like that.

This is acceptable upwind form in a Laser, though flatter (hull, not sail) would be better, given the conditions:

    https://i.ytimg.com/vi/L6TbVuIcrRw/maxresdefault.jpg

Looks like some kind of basin, or possibly a lake. Lots of real good sailors come out of those shifty, land-bound conditions.
