Okay, laboriously assembling 5-10 articles, each worse and more confusing than the last, we can roughly say the headline is in Buffalo, NY, no surprise. The snow there (but only certain parts) was 50 inches in 24 hours. Okay, great. Now is that high or low? They don’t say. But as they have had several storms of 100 inches, in the past and their yearly average is +100″, it’s low? But in that even the biggest storms only had 50 inches per day, it’s quite high? (The other storms like ’77 lasted a variety of days). Most had lower winds, as the famous Blizzard of ‘77 that made Time Magazine as proof of the upcoming Ice Age, had far lower winds, steady below 50mph, but for 3 days. This one had sustained over 50mph for all 24h period and +70mph gusts. Temps were probably lower as well, although I can’t get – they couldn’t be arsed – to list any comparative temps. It seemed to have been 10f, with a wind chill easily in excess of -40f.

Therefore 34 people died (maybe) with 29 in the city and the others in suburbs (maybe). Of those, no one bothered to list f-all, although it would have been far shorter and more informative than their dreadful articles. “Every life is sacred” “If even one life is saved…” except when it comes to anything besides Covid. Or Whatever Latest Thing is a political promotion right now. (Schools, guns, race, gender, Swiss boarding school editors, or whatever they made up last minute or two)

Of 34 – and here they list literally nothing, just anecdotes to assemble – we have some heart attacks from shoveling, some people dying in car accidents, some freezing in cars, and a few carbon monoxide furnaces. Only one known EMS failure due to snow travel. The usual, but just more of it I understand. Did learn two things: One is Buffalo is actually very large. Like near a million people and the 2nd largest city in NY. The other was it’s one of the poorest cities in the U.S. So if you think “New York” has been stealing your money to their dreadful glue-sniffing trust fund retards, you’re mistaken: it’s exclusively Manhattan it seems. Maybe being closer to the blood-money funnel puts you more at risk, who knows? Also nobody DGAF who dies in Buffalo: all the articles then snapped in death rates from Colorado, Seattle, etc, you know: places that people care about and matter. I presume this means Blue Buffalo in a valuable Blue State is somehow also at the same time also “Deplorable”? Expendable? (Long given up on making logic of these things)

Again, what was the normal 2-day death rate vs the storm death rate? Who knows? Did they include cancer deaths in storm deaths or only distinguish by cause? Who knows? They suggested it was storm-only deaths but did not promise anything.

One thing to keep in mind is to be prepared to sit down for 24 hours and huddle out a storm, be it snow or tropical. That doesn’t sound too hard, we have great weather reports if you can distill it from the utter rubbish and clutter out there, just take it seriously and be a little ahead of time and not behind when you’re trapped on the road. Keep some gas in the car. Have a backup plan. Don’t be impatient or anxious, go slow and safely, the last thing we need is a second dead person out looking for the first one. Frostbite from trying to jump the car instead of just leaving it.

Seems like good advice, good life approach in general, beside trivia and having mentioned it last week. Don’t be a hero, live small, have low standards, be more ready to rest than to risk, have multiple layers of plans, and go slowly and carefully, keeping yourself aware of your surroundings, be it heart sensations, or weird furnace smells and sounds. Plan ahead with that shovel and that hat.

Far too long today. Following yesterday:

I do not have an adequate model. Luongo is covering this today. People are lazy and jumping to “Red Pill” “Dollar Crash”, just like I did. But you can know who’ll win the boxing match but not how. Or when maybe.

There are whole people, successful ones, who do nothing for price and only for time. That actually works better when used right. I do not have this model. What’s worse, to know what but not when seems more than adequate. It does not occur until long after that when is more important than what.

You could name it by moons, but the moons are no less arbitrary and would throw out your “what moon does winter start in” in no time, like 2 years it would already be no use.

So the calendar we have, with picking an arbitrary New Year we have, is equally arbitrary as anything else. And therefore equally valid as anything else. Let’s pick Canada Day for the 1st of the Year, I could care less. The seasons go on unaccounting of any names of Man.

So I appreciate the Russian form, but it’s not that strange. The U.S. was down on Christmas and up on Easter for centuries I think it didn’t flip until almost 1900. There’s not going to be a sudden clear collapse of Ukr, a sweep of EU state’s elections. 5) Tech totalitarianism comes in too slow to matter, too messy, creating too many gaps. Yet it will come in like coins thrown on the floor. At the same time the counter-totalitarianism will also come in with private monies, more secure chats and communications, and so on. 6) The grid will not go down in a big way, but have constant, ceaseless hardships and interruptions, mostly related to money. 7) So will the economy. The U.S. does not re-industrialize, although every year more small shops fill the gaps. This will be not visible and barely adequate like the 1910s, but does create better talent. This is evolving into the modern sense of CNC, 3D Printer, Internet delivery world. In a world where shipping costs remain high.

Because no events move very severely – or in the case of markets, bears are extremely rapid, with extreme recoveries, and with no profits, nearly impossible for even expert pit traders to make money on – this makes the window for capitalizing and making money on these changes very few. B) What Milky Way planets? What civilizations? Ones with gas-borne sea creatures in the clouds of a dim planet like Uranus? Big radio users, they. One of conscious crystal stone formations that cover the planet who are all-one therefore no need for outside communication?

C) They’ve been watching too much Star Trek, where all aliens are human, all on Gravity = 1 planets, who all speak English. And have hot boobs.

D) All these very, very different planets, have very, very different creatures with very very different communication, and unimaginable languages with unimaginable consciousnesses. We’re probably standing on one now and STILL don’t recognize it’s talking. But we already know it would take 10,000 lifetimes to travel there by the normal rules. So no one is using the “Normal” rules.

In other words: it’s often as close to “Just made it up” as it’s possible to be. Not looking into it (Exactly as I tell others not to do) certainly this is one of those examples of coincidental correlation. How it got into the news is what’s interesting to me, as all studies have dozens of these connections no one cares about. Is it merely to divide us and make us fight? Or more than that?
