The war porn is flooding the intertubes.
The dark side of humanity is titillated by all the real time murder and mayhem, the inevitable result of a system that glorifies all sides in ongoing conflict…
What’s forgotten is that for every televised bomb/missile strike, somebodies brother, son, husband or friend is killed or maimed in that realtime, surrealistic “entertainment”…
Be careful out there; your mental health/humanity is being torn assunder in that very same realtime reportage’…………

This and, the Grace Kelley piece, should dispell any notion Warhol was not a serious artist….
A genius in fact; we should be grateful for his brief appearance in our universe…

What is this crap about personal pronouns? A word comes to mind containing all forms of gender as well as non-gender . Shit, covers them all, it’s the world they inhabit, the cesspit. Those inhabiting this world all mothered of assholes, fathered of fake food, cradled in the toilet, matriculate to the toobs, educated in wastewater treatment and released into reality – the world.

It is the waste of the time of day to give them the time of day; a foolish effort – where is cancel culture when needed?

I dragged this up from yesterday; it’s well worth a second look.
Woke culture is the path to totalitarianism with its language and coded words.
Do not try to control me or anybody else with double speak and proper pronouns bullshit! Western culture (an oxymoron) is already well on the road to purgatory and worse…
TAE is a rare and precious place to dwell thanks to our host Raul Ilargi Meijer…

The level. Of Western. Insanity. Bends my image of the whole universe. Is the Universe even large enough, heavy enough, grand enough, to have this kind of denial and stupidity resting in it? Don’t we really need another universe to hold objects this large?

I do not have an answer to that last question…
But what I do know is that in the U.S., they are a very damaged and sick society…
Everything falls from there…it’s not an encouraging place to begin to find answers…

There is another way Dr D. Do like I did last night and sneak over in the dark to your dodgy mates joint with 20 litres of Molasses and 35 kg of white sugar a bit of DAP and some yeast and make your own god dammed rum. The Australian Gov can F right Off.
200 litres at approx $75 litre for substandard rum in OZ is $15,000.

In other news, expect the same type of cautious and measured procedure in the other, far larger, war as well. They do not want to force or frighten the cornered mouse into fighting. That would be a costly, non productive and hugely annoying distraction for both Russia AND China (not to mention the rest of us poor meek collateral assets and resources) and so I pray that this pragmatism mitigates the inevitable collapse down to survivable levels.

I echo your concerns here; thank the gods Russia is a nation of rational and intelligent leaders whose experience far exceeds that of anyone in power in the west at this time…
It is a certainty Russia will act to protect itself if there is any attempt to tear it apart (which the U.S, openly states it wants to do…)
I wish I could say I’m confident the U.S. will see the error of it’s ways…
When hubris and hyperbole rule; rational thinking is no where to be found…….

A new US military attaché was being given a guided tour of Belgrade Military Museum by a Serbian officer.
They stopped in front of the museum’s shot down stealth F-117 aircraft display.
    The US attache asked.
“How did it feel to go up against the world’s most powerful military?”
    The Serbian officer replied.
“We have never fought the Russians, so I really don’t know.”

Whether the story is true or not; it’s still hilarious….
The U.S. is a malignant entity; it’s good to have Russia as a counter balance…

Will anyone inquire as to how the medical profession reestablish the trust they discarded so easily, so conveniently?

I haven’t “trusted” the medical profession ever…the few times I’ve needed a doctor, I start by asking questions, many questions; and based on their willingness to answer said questions and the answers given I make my decisions…

Also, a very good posting above T-Bear; thanks…

“Land of Smiles” is slang for Thailand amongst some “farang”

Yes, correct. Farang is a coloquial term for white foreigner; interestingly farang is also the Thai word for guava.
In the Thai language both are spelled identically…

    @Michael Reid
However, the existence of property taxes raises some important, fundamental questions.
Do you really own something if someone forces you to make never-ending (and ever-increasing) payments on it?
    Clearly, the answer is “no.”

I brought this up here years ago…crickets…

Here in LoS one owns their home after paying for it; no property taxes or any other fees; one owns their home lock, stock, and barrel…….
Our mortgage has been paid off for 10 years now…being debt free is true freedom….
