In a healthy society, you’d be treated like royalty. Instead, you get your legs broke and get chained to your workstation. I have had a very good boss for 20+ years. However, even he has to ‘screw me over’ sometimes or he can’t stay in business. I’ve never been very connected to The System. I’m edging closer to cutting those last ties.

The most important part of my post, I totally forgot to include…
I/We have no debt…having no debt (and I mean that literally) is the single most important aspec of living well and scure…You can catch a whisper of what else is going on if you listen to the frequent rants heard from the managerial class these days about how young people just don’t want to work any more.
Talk to the young people in question and you’ll find that quite a few of them are working very hard on projects of their own. What they’re not willing to do is waste their lives working in abusive and humiliating environments to make someone else rich, in exchange for rock-bottom wages, no prospect for advancement, and no benefits worth mentioning. That their reaction comes as a surprise to anyone is a good measure of just how detached our society’s comfortable classes have become from the reality their preferred policies have created.There it is in a nut-shell……….abuse, no benefits/healthcare worth a shit!!! Or anything else for a decent retirement life…
I left, and I retired at 62 with sufficient SS for a decent, respectable life abroad…
I was a master machinist and treated like garbage…My revenge is living well with good healthcare, and having $500 to $1,000 in my pocket at any given time…
As near as I can tell; critical thinking skills are lacking in 99 – 99.9% of all humans…
