When the first sanctions hit, Putin immediately signed a decree explicitly allowing parallel imports. E.g. Iphone is imported into Poland, a P. intermediary sends it along to Russia. (To block this the US would have to sanction some cos. in P. – which? how to enforce? .. etc.)
That the US imagines that it can affect what goods, commodities, ppl. etc. enter or leave another country was always fanciful and is now openly derided. The US was a main mover in this ‘globalisation’ of commerce scheme – and now.. Err what no?

This has lead to an Exodus with children in tow, some of them roped in, easy to organise .. one missing birth certif. for a one year old, etc. A form of child exploitation?
There were, are, other ways, as well. One man I spoke to became an int’l truck driver, and then abandoned his job and his truck in a European country applied for refugee status.

My comments. It was certainly a bomb, I should be more precise, some element or event inside the plane. I watched those witness videos and images of the debris. It was not brought down by any kind of projectile(s) from the outside. (Like MH17.) I’m not a military person or a plane accident investigator but this seems really obvious.
Prigo. was the famous man on the plane, and one should always recall that victim 1 may not have been the one targetted. (Skripals might be an example, that is a looong story.)

On Western hopes (now supposedly! .. dashed) re the UKR counter-offensive (see some news posted by Ilargi at top), those in charge, and no doubt many others, knew perfectly well the ‘counter offensive’ would FAIL in the sense that UKR would gain no ground, log no victories of any kind, would just be moving soldiers and matériel into the meat grinder, to be chewed up by Russian forces.

To sum up, there was no pandemic. Several Regions in France were not affected at all, they applied the usual protocols > zero excess deaths.

CH’s policy for making data public is to write short pieces, comprehensible for all, in several languages, and to present some easy to digest graphs, charts. All the raw data can be downloaded, free, by anyone. France has a very different policy.
Last week, in CH, 5 men aged 20s – 30s drowned.
It made headlines, people were shocked. I am sure they could all swim (though that was not directly stated in the news) – no earthquake, terrible storm, etc. took place.
The average no of drownings p.a. is 45, this includes hapless tourists, toddlers who fall into pools, crazy risk takers in icy conditions, suicides, etc. So 5 healthy sporty types in a week is unheard of. (> one link in G below with details.. shows men drown FAR more often than women..)

The ‘Collective West’ (roughly, NATO + EU + 5 eyes + Japan..) is making crazy demands such as that Russia goes back to the 1990 borders.
Such exravagant demands divorced from reality don’t spring from any will to end the conflict, save lives, cross-border commerce, international relations, but rather are clarioned to signal that ‘the conflict’ will end only when the ‘Collective West’ decides it will quit and withdraw after having done as much damage as possible.
If it takes 10 (or 5…) dead Ukrainians to kill one Russian, it is worth it. In any case Slav lives are of no account.
The Collective West, the USA as main driver, when it decides the end of this operation, will just leave the UKR theatre (see Afgh, Lybia, Syria is more complicated) to its fate, and big Cos. who are active there, and btw already own a lot of the land etc., they will take it over, with a puppet Gvmt. in place.
Re-building will also be lucrative up to a point, that depends on many factors, v. complex, basically, what ressources can extracted, mined, commercialised for profit, how can the cheap labor be captured and held, what manufacturing, etc. And … how much investment can be attracted, for hope of profit / noble causes, to go into greedy pockets?
