Putting it lightly to say police use a lighter hand when they agree with the protest issue.
That’s one way of looking at it. Another is that everyone involved realizes that 10s of 1000s of trucks is a logistical problem no police force can solve.

This feels very thin to me:

Sounds like a reasonable comment. I am troubled by masks with holes 1000x the size of a virus, being able to stop it. “People in Asia eat more rice” sounds good too. Most people in the west practice social distancing. And Asians still get on subways and buses. Overall, not totally convincing.

Of course, Boogaloo, we should ask that. Thing is, so far just about every death WITH has been counted as FROM (ergo: it has not been asked). And now even CNN walks that back (cowards). Which is why I wondered this weekend: has anybody died FROM Omicron? And if all we get from Thailand is bedridden, terminal cancer and Alzheimer, 84-86 years old, maybe it’s time to ask that question, instead of claiming that the question itself evades the “real” issue. What if only 10% of official numbers died FROM Covid, or just 1%, what do we do then? At what point do we stop the panic, and the mass vaccination?

The extremely contagious variant is fuelng a coronavirus wave that is pushing hospitals close to capacity in several parts of the U.S., government figures show.
If we can establish that zero people so far have died from Omicron, what are these people in hospital for? Are there severe complaints that can still be treated, or are these simply people who tested rapid positive and think that means they must be sick?
I’m trying to link no lethality with overflowing hospitals, and don’t quite succeed. What am I missing?
