No response is what it is. If my life experience has the potential to add something valuable to the thread/conversation, I post. No expectations.
I knew TM was not your path. Thanks for clarifying and reminding us of another Way to PEACE.
On meditation: It can’t be emphasized enough – it’s a process. It is powerful. It is also personal, a journey for one (that’s why the path is “narrow”).
Finding like-minded Souls who are also journeying is helpful, but not essential. My experience is that a wise Teacher is key.
I am not hearing you say that your Way is better than David Lynch’s TM or my traditional Ashtanga Yoga meditation. Your path is different and there is value in you sharing your direct experience. I appreciate you for doing that.
Side note: The paring of the words: HARD + TRUTH seems off base (iron fist velvet glove-ish). TRUTH is. How about ONE TRUTH or just TRUTH?
HARD is: maintaining a practice with patience and persistence. Meditation is a practice that helps you experience infinite goodness, creativity, and LOVE.
Worth repeating: “expanding upon one’s “inner reality” on a daily basis makes “outer reality” more apparent & easily identified/understood…” So darn true!
What’s in your inner reality?

Last night/late post offered at #137977 by VP – The David Lynch video (16 minutes) on Transcendental Meditation, is excellent. It clearly presents a solution/Way forward in response to our current condition(s).
It would be beneficial to hear your comments on the content of this contribution. We spend lots of time identifying the impact(s) of the problem(s) and not so much on what WE can do to change course.
What if – the process of TM (Transcendental Meditation) resulted in TRANSFORMATION as the video describes? Can you see how that is possible?
Access to/awareness of your TRUE NATURE (my words), goodness/creativity/LOVE – is yours by releasing the forces of fear. The video says that we are powerful when we are not in fear. TM is a practice that helps you experience infinite goodness, creativity, and LOVE.
The video also makes it clear that your inner reality is your outer reality. Your thoughts?
TM is for everyone – but almost no one will initiate and sustain the effort needed. No one can do it for you, you have to do it for yourSELF. Personally, I find the challenge + the potential of transformation compelling. My own experience reveals that it works.

These words are a FORCE of NATURE – as the TRUTH is: Omnipotent, Omniscient, and Omnipresent.
Know that these words resonate BEYOND this moment – transforming the unreal. All HEARTS are made PRESENT in these words. Sharing these words, this TRUTH – opens channels for LIFE to transcend the paradigms of oppression.

If we all can’t/don’t agree that there is one, including the definition of what “the problem” is/who is responsible, then the exercise to do something – craft plans/solutions, is futile. Feeding more failure/defeat into the mix and reinforcing our inability to make things better.

Gonna have to disagree. It’s magical thinking to think that magical thinking is essential to our survival. That is exactly what has gotten us in “trouble” across so many fronts. Your idea that rational thinking has a role in this is correct – as it could generate an implementation plan which would immediately move magical thinking into the INTENTIONAL realm . That’s the whole point: magical thinking without a plan (without answering the how aspect) is pure fantasy.

With these conversations, we find ourselves discussing the origin/source of all things. Everything exists – begins and ends on the INSIDE, and not “out there”. The distinction is critical. Recognition thereof, and the living of this understanding is life changing. It is the Way to create real and lasting LOVE/PEACE/JOY in this life.
Inward facing practices reveal pure CONSCIOUSNESS, going beyond the thought waves of the mind. Clarity and TRUTH shine forth! Be silent, sit calmly, follow the breath…and you will hear – not with your ears but with your HEART, what needs to be known.
Outward facing is a giant projection – of thought waves/mind/ideas into/onto the manifest world. When the outer projection becomes the only reality (as is the case for most folks today), people are subjected to Heaven/hell and Good/evil (the “play” of opposites) in this life. It’s a rough Constitution-killing ride out there.
When you understand that your projected world is not the ONE reality, your response to life changes. Once you get re-oriented, there is no one/nothing “out there” to point to, to blame. It frees up lots of negative energy and opens channels for opportunity/potentiality.
With devotion, TRUTH will find you.

Well said. And true. What needs to be acknowledged is that genuine populism (in today’s world) is always corrupted/co-opted by TPTB. What need to be understood is how fast and completely that is accomplished – and what might be done in response. When organic expression is overridden by stealth manipulation designed to rewrite/rewire the original inspiration, we lose.
Right now RFK Jr is organic – authentic and hot. Truth burns bright! I believe he can finish what Trump spoke of doing but was unable to do. The “wildcard” aspect of his candidacy is that he is resonating with people from all sides of the political spectrum.

Couldn’t resist this flashback after viewing the 999 stairs to heaven and glorious mountainside opening pictured above. Makes me wonder how long it takes the average person to make the ascent.
Ahhh the Stairway song. It was everywhere back then. It is still here, ringing in my Heart as always. Slow dancing in the basement on Christmas break, the entire dorm hallway dancing to the sounds of Zep records spinning, live in concert in Cincinnati; it was Heaven. (I may have missed the hippie thing but was full immersion on the late 70’s after party). The best part is that we were all in on it TOGETHER. We shared an era of truly great music. (Thankfully the incredibly isolating, personalized play/set lists, ear buds, and phones did not exist). We didn’t know how good we had it.
Deep experiences of sharing something extraordinary with a group/entire generation of other beings – lives on in some of us. Wisdom gleaned from direct experiences of coming together is essential to attracting more of the same. Even in times of disenchantment – ENCHANTMENT finds us in our everyday lives.
For those of us who made the Half Dome (Yosemite) climb, the shared togetherness of accomplishment at the top never leaves. Same goes for the final “slog” of reaching the top of the South rim of the mighty Grand Canyon after starting over on the North rim 4 days earlier. There’s nothing like giving yourself to life.
Appreciate your contributions, Ilargi. Makes me wonder how you do it.

Thanks for sharing your music, Michael. And for telling your story. A significant point – that your process was so deep it required “recovery time”. It’s easy to take this aspect of RENEWAL for granted when total life-changing shifting is at hand. Allowing it to unfold is a gift to yourself.
I agree with VP that time is short. If RENEWAL is practiced in the company of dear friends and family, the timeline can be enhanced and shortened. Working TOGETHER is the key.
For those of us (me included) who have had similar life-altering experiences (VP has shared his), we are never the same.
In the meantime, stay positive and in the PRESENT. That is something (@ DBS) we can control and do.
May we all have the opportunity to one day “Lay down our head by a sweet riverbed.”

WES – good advice as always. To “age in place” is the best choice but not always possible; care-giver quality/availability and finances may make this difficult.
As for the closed loop, wood-fired outdoor furnace (heat transfer H2O to my boiler to radiant floor heat system), it worked like a champ! It took awhile to fine tune the process and get the right wood mix/volume for optimum performance. Saved on the propane. Next year will be the big test and $$$ savings. Will get her fired up in late October/early November. Thanks for asking.

Consider the hidden potential here. “With humanity” deserves exploration, contemplation, and understanding. What does it mean/how to BE “with humanity”?
Is it what happens when we come together over a personal experience post (à la Phoenix), a Calvin cartoon strip, an Eckhart Tolle quote, an animal video, a Beatles song, or artwork selection?
I propose that “with humanity” is a key component of your existence and resistance, your most powerful tool. It is everything – all you have and all you need. If you want it.
It is the one thing YOU can implement with/in every thought, word, and deed. “With humanity” is your LOVE in action. Freedom will surely follow.

The left/Dems have lost control; they thought they were promoting inclusion! Haha. It was co-opted long ago – and warped into an array of woke craziness. The shove it in-your-face trans thing (Budweiser) is a red line – and the responses are telling.
The left/Dems did not reach this level of insanity organically. It was forced by the manipulations of TPTB. Most left/Dems DON’T EVEN KNOW WHAT HAS HIT THEM! Since they are in a trance induced by TPTB, they have become powerless to fight it – all they can do is keep owning it.
I’m not defending the left/Dems. Am just pointing to the root cause of the chaos. This goes way beyond the usual suspects on the left or right – we can’t let the real enemy stay hidden behind them.

It is my understanding (through experience) that there are many Paths to Truth, any road will take you there. To choose one and BE PRESENT with it in the experience of daily living – in thought/word/deed, produces awareness/understanding/knowledge/truth.
The Destiny of Disenchantment is death, making room for Enchantment. Like all cycles, recognition of where you’re/we’re at is helpful. This quote from the article holds WISDOM in weathering the storm.
“Most of us, I hope, recognize that one of the basic tests of personal maturity is the recognition that we will all die someday, after something like the ordinary human lifespan, and our hopes and dreams and decisions about the future need to take that hard but inescapable reality into account. @Ilargi – on the subject of traveling clots. We have a beloved gentleman here (in his 60’s, works for the State of CA) whose clot (unknown to him) caused a heart attack event. As he fell to the ground he full-body slammed a coffee table. He was air-lifted off the mountain to a big city hospital for heart surgery. The surgeon discovered and removed the clot which was one of those long stringy ones, he saved it and showed it to him. The Dr. also noted that the clot was likely dislodged by the fall and the blood flow to his heart resumed. Not sure what happened next…E.g. did anyone ask WHY this clot developed? Crazy!
Nick appears to be an Aussie Shepherd. They know a million ways to get you outside. I have one such animal – and she is always on the case. Heading out into the 15 inches of snow for the 5th time today yaaaah!

@ jb-hb: playing the unclean card is another effective route. “Dirty hippies” comes to mind. And yes there was a revulsion created/generated over the cleanliness/sanitary impact of the Occupy camps – which took the focus off the groups real purpose. Occupy was my first direct experience with the manipulation of TPTB in having them completely occupy our Occupy movement (I was involved in supplying the camps with food/shelter/clothes/blankets/technology/sanitary products) (it was personal – lost my house in 2009, was motivated).
Occupy was the last peaceful movement? Seems quaint that they removed us on being a sanitary nuisance. Almost nobody objected to the complete destruction of our camps.

Our time here is precious. All of it.
Inner Wisdom is a mostly untapped, unexplored resource. It is not the same as hope and faith. It appears that we are born with it; access requires discernment/practice/commitment to discover/uncover it – and to apply this Wisdom in daily life/living. Perhaps this is the engine of creativity/ingenuity; if we bring Inner Wisdom to light, what is possible?
This creation is in constant motion; everything under the sun is in one state of change or another – be it birth, growth, decay, death. The cycle of life is what it is, it is here and now. We can’t escape the impact yet we can control our response (if you want it).
Some say you must go/get BEYOND the creation (the body/mind (ego)/emotions (desires and attachments) to access Inner Wisdom. Sometimes Inner Wisdom breaks through in whispers or shouts. In words or not. What do you say?
Be Here Now = The Balance. It is momentary for most and permanent for few.
What was your reaction to today’s art selection? Did you smell bread baking and then move into The Future to take a bite of that crispy loaf? Did the open space on the table invite you add a glass of red wine, grapes, and cheese? Or were you pulled outside to the dark night and stars? Or???

Hi WES. Good observations and questions. My take:
This life is both…real and unreal.
When we live in the past (by re-living memories) or in the future (by dreaming/imagining) we are living in a dream/unreal state. The PRESENT is real. Living life fully present is the opportunity of this life.
Many of us (me included) bounce around. PRESENCE takes practice – awareness, dedication (Heart), and compassion are essential to cultivate/maintain this state of reality. Joy, Peace, and LOVE live here.

The John Waterhouse Diogenes 1882 is lovely. The artist’s treatment of the pavers/stones and the women’s garments are a remarkable accomplishment. I appreciate the “flow”of ladies cascading down/up the steps. His subject, Diogenes, a Greek Cynic philosopher best known for holding a lantern (or candle) to the faces of the citizens of Athens claiming he was searching for an honest man – may have inspired the musings of tboc. What would it be like living in that corner nest, making philosophy (belief, and the sharing thereof) the centerpiece of existence?
@tboc – thank you. In Yoga philosophy (The Bhagavad Gita is a good example) it is framed as seeing God in All. To arrive/live in that awareness is to go beyond the the play of opposites of embodiment.

On very limited time here….Have been wanting to share this story since the Damar Hamlin “event”. Maybe it offers insight?
There is a 60-ish man here in town who works for the State of CA and was vaxxed as per the mandate. Mid year 2022 he had an “event” that caused him to fall, slamming full-force on to a table and breaking 6 ribs. The local paramedics took him down the mountain to the hospital. The doctor/surgeon ended up finding a (surprise) massive blockage and removed a long, dual-branched clot from his heart. The doctor told him that his life was saved by the fall – as it dislodged the clot long enough to get things moving again.
Could the hit to Damar have been something similar?
The rains and wind resulted in a 24 hour power outage. A great opportunity to see how prepared/unprepared I am for a winter disruption. Am certain that the tolerance/breaking point is far shorter than most/many imagine!
There is great benefit to reclaiming/regaining positive perspective after processing what’s real.

Yes. The sin is in a misunderstanding of the greatest sin = Separation. When we are in separation the power flows to anyone/anything other than Heaven.

What if the daily art went away, would this site be the same to/for you? I admit, I like it, look forward to it, and am attached to it being there. What if no more animal videos or cartoons? The soup kitchen updates deepen our connection with each other (if we want it) and provide a generous serving of hope and possibility. Everything in the middle is what fuels the daily gathering – powerful stuff, overwhelming at times – yet essential..
Same with the comments/commenters. They have a place here. Plus our host seems to let things flow with little interference – which makes time spent all the more potent.
Dr. D: do keep going down the philosophy path when your “travels” take you there. No comments doesn’t mean not received. Bold post with interesting/fresh framing from Polemos last eve. This line of reasoning on the “great work of rebuilding themselves/ourselves” and “own your karma” deserves further discussion.

Owning my karma is my life…daily living/experience informs me that genuine LOVE exists/lives in the PRESENT moment – where “the rising sun” and “play of cats”, is found (the road to Oasis anyone?).
Disentanglement with the past or future – is the process/action of owning karma. This process of disentanglement is on-going, daily. You look at the results, the impact you are having on self and others. The instruments of karma – mind (memories and dreams), Heart (emotions and feelings), and hands (actions and inaction) come into play. You sort it out by using the same instruments.
In the end, we all do what we do, don’t we?

CHS, in his direct and simple way, paints the picture perfectly. We’re not crazy – things are falling apart for a reason – beyond our direct control at this point. This is what happened/is happening.
And to think we are only beginning to experience the effects – with more impact to come. No wonder 3 trips to the excellent plumbing supply store = still no PEX.
