Perhaps more effective as short stories/chapters? With great original art (for each segment) as an accompaniment? @UpNY: Keith Olbermann played a leading role in standing against the invasion of Iraq. In those days he was a lone wolf and non-stop rant machine! Anyway, I was a fan because this was also my position and there were few advocating (with gusto) to stop the march to war. In the end, the voices were silenced and the will of the people was over-ridden and Rummy/Cheney got their war. It was through this experience that I UNDERSTOOD on some level where words do not exist – that the whole thing was fixed from the start. The will of the people did not/never mattered. Around that time Olbermann “got fired” ? and disappeared.
@Mister: the “conversion” and “resurrection” of KO is interesting. The complete switching of sides in defense of what? This corruption is something I struggle to comprehend. I agree that it is at the heart of the destruction of Team Blue/Democratic Party – and so much more. Welcome to #OPPOSITE LAND.
We are a cast of characters in the PLAY called LIFE. We “perform” in many venues. On stage at TAE we have quite a lineup, and I am personally inspired, intrigued, engaged by the players/participants here. Our Host does an incredible job of providing content that attracts a wide collection of players who come and go, appear and disappear at their choosing. There is no one more authentic, beautiful, and wise than John Day who always brings perspective with LOVE. Madam and Dr D offer insight and depth – painful and pleasurable. Contributors – Sumac, NY, Phoenix, Arnold, oxy, Mister, Zero, Doc, Germ, Kids, Michael and the rest of the cast, make this a true reflection of LIFE and a daily destination worth exploring. The formula is working, let it be.
My role (in between the occasional rant) is to bring LOVE. Remembering that we always have a choice in how we respond to LIFE, we perform according to “plan”.

@phoenix: interesting observation, somewhat surprising. If the Navajo wish to call themselves “redskins” then so be it. If African Americans wish to refer to themselves “nigg**” then so be it. Many consider those references demeaning and would never choose to use them. They will have to work it out amongst themselves – or not?
There is much more to the Miami Tribes story that I started earlier…I can’t separate myself from the reality of history, which was brutal. Same old paradigm of Winners/Losers. The tribes signed away their homelands and moved to reservations. Might their complete and total destruction have been the better choice? Their slaughter in the physical world ended, yet their cultural/spiritual lives were saved?
Is that our future?
How many of us can say that we are willing to protect what we value, respect, and LOVE to the death?

In 1998 (when human kindness and consideration were still alive) my Alma Mater, Miami University, Oxford Ohio dropped the moniker Redskins and became the RedHawks. There was actually a REQUEST from the Miami Tribe to make the change. It was done out of genuine RESPECT.

How to LOVE in Weaverville, CA where everything around me – the conifer forests, trees, manzanita, animals, rivers/streams/lakes, are drying and dying due to extreme relentless heat and zero rain? How not to see it, feel it – as it is in my face on every morning hike/walk, drive into town, throughout Trinity County. Fuck my polarized glasses as they clearly reveal which trees are the next victims to lay over. Today a dead deer, fox, and skunk all crushed to death on the road in a desperate attempt to get at water. At times it feels unreal because it is so real.
Am I just gonna stop walking and living because I can’t stand to be in the world facing the destruction? Is it possible to honor my anguish, fear, and sadness yet choose not to live in it??? To be in this world and not of it?
The only Way is LOVE.

SusanAnyone up for a little Climate Rattle?
Am caught under the never-ending “heat dome”. Fortunate to be very heat tolerant from all the years in SoCA – boating on the Colorado River/Lake Mohave and hiking the San Jacinto Mountains. However, a nearly 30 day streak of 100 degree days has me feeling down. With night time temps at 60-ish there is no overnight recovery before the whole thing cranks up again. I don’t have a/c. My home was strategically built to withstand the heat (for a few days/week @100 degrees – not for weeks/month). By 7 PM it is around 90 degrees in the house, by 8 PM the outside/inside temps meet in the mid 80’s and I crank open all windows, sliders, dormers and ceiling fans. By 10 PM it is finally 80 degrees. At 6 AM the outside temp is 60-ish and inside is 70, I close the house up.
It’s interesting micro-managing one’s life to the weather in this way. Am grateful for the opportunity to see how I respond under circumstances where I have limited control.
I will not dwell on how dry the forest is…how all the creeks and waterholes are bone dry, how the vegetation is completely brown. I worry for the deer, foxes, rabbits, birds, and butterflys, and in response maintain several watering stations on my property to ease the situation (no, to ease my mind…that I did SOMETHING nothing is too small). It feels like I am in a surreal, slow motion disaster movie. My intuition tells me things are never going to be the same. (It’s the same intuition that tells me Covid is to be treated = no jab 4 me).

I am traveling home to Ohio for a week – memorial services for my Mom and her husband (both died from Covid and Covid complications earlier this year at 90 and 97 years. They were in a top-notch care facility). Will try to post late this afternoon.
How to “stop it in the nose”???
I spray my eyes, up my nose/each nostril (and inhale), and mouth (with an inhale) with nano-silver. I do this before indoor outings, work (I work in an art gallery), and flying on a plane.
In late January, I spent an entire week bedside with my dying Mom. She was in a first-class nursing facility in Ohio, they “broke the rules” and I pushed for time – spent 4 hours there per day for 6 days straight. She beat covid (type O) while her type A husband had died of it on Christmas morning 2020. Besides the masking, I used a sprayer to deliver nano-silver directly into what I consider the entry points – eyes, nose, mouth. I did this before flying as well. It provided me with extra security – I felt like the silver was providing a protective barrier.
I was also responsible for cleaning out their assisted living apartment (where they had both acquired covid from a caregiver). Used the silver water solution again – for extra protection.

There are many uses for a good Nano-Silver in liquid form. My late husband cleared a nearly fatal lung infection by ingesting it after being on massive doses of antibiotics for several months. Intuitively, I knew the antibiotics were killing him, and the silver solution crossed my path – so I started putting it in his coffee, beer, and water. The local, high quality cannabis oil kept him out of pain and around a bit longer. He didn’t want to use the silver despite the fact that many folks who use it regularly are beating back cancers.

The folks who believe that an army of lazy, PJ wearing peeps are sitting at home partying on UE benefits – will fiercely defend the idea that there is zero incentive to work. Including the idea that covid down time has re-wired our desires. There’s some truth to that.
Then there are those who see an even bigger picture. Like CHS who continues show us how and why we are here – and to post a favorite chart: Shares of gross domestic income. The “take this job and shove it” mentality has a place in the discussion.

I find the contrast interesting.
The driving DESIRE to WIN at any and all cost.
Maybe that’s the key. A single, driving DESIRE that endlessly needs to be fed. WINNING is never full-filled, because there is always the next conquest. They have their eye on what’s next even before finishing off the latest round of consumption/destruction. Eventually WINNERS get to the point where even losing is WINNING.
On some level deep within, WE ALL UNDERSTAND that this driving DESIRE to WIN is not right. The DESIRE to WIN AT ANY COST is not natural, not fair, not truthful, not positive, not generous, not kind, not helpful, not good. Where this uncontrolled desire exists, there will never be co-operation, kindness, real LOVE, or any of the other values WE hold dear.
Since WINNERS AT ANY COST are their own ecosystem, they need yours/mine to fuel theirs. Perhaps OUR only defense is to disable their ability to feast on our creation/contribution.

I believe there is another, separate driver/dimension at work here – beyond POWER. It’s called WINNING. WINNING AT ANY COST.
Why is WINNING a key part of the formula? I am not sure exactly. Today Madamski identifies WINNING as playing a role in the demise of Bill Gates. Trump was an obvious fan of WINNING and that’s why he lost. Our “masters” seem to have their WINNING genes(?) turned ON HIGH. Since WINNING trumps all it has to be a defect of some sort?

How to prepare to let go?
Being prepared mentally, spiritually, and physically (yes, you need all 3) is essential. My training camp is right outside my front door. Each morning I leash my Border Collie and head out into the forest and hills. On my daily 3-mile-ish trek (in under an hour depending on my dog’s nose and if the squirrel, deer, bear, fox, or mountain lion has been about) my eyes open and the training begins. Crossing the seasonal creek on my property border, I note how the watershed is nearly dry and it is only April. I hear my boots crunching the earth and the dust kicks up, man its dry, bone dry and it’s only April. Heading up the trail there are dead trees everywhere. They are dying and dropping so fast it is impossible to tally the loss. A good wind puts many down to their final rest. Even the hearty manzanita are dying. The forest is a tinder box and it’s only April. Spring flowers are trying their best, and many are popping through; it is in their Nature to live, to come up, to try, to be. Grasses are not in abundance, what will the deer eat come June? It does not matter why we have a drought, or who/what caused it. It is here and the reality is that there is DEATH all around me. Face it Susan.
I have cried, shouted, kicked, and screamed. I have come to KNOW it is not in my hands, I can not fix it. I can only bear witness – which is powerful in its own Way. I can, in the end translate the reality into LOVE. Pure LOVE. I can let go.

A complete UNRAVELING is our DESTINY. It is the only Way forward. In the process you will have to prepare yourself to let go of it all, all of it. There will be no time for lamenting The Way things were or for being angry at what is. Working TOGETHER – with neighbors, in communities and towns – is going to be essential. The focus will be on daily living/survival.

Based on a post of yours regarding success using nano-silver (I also dose my ancient green-eyed grey furball) – I wanted to weigh in on one more important application. It relates to John Day’s post “80% of people stop it in the nose, where it is mild. In 20% of people it gets into lungs, guts and bloodstream”.
I spray nano-silver directly in my eyes, up my nose and in my mouth daily (and more frequently if I am out). In my mind, it provides a protective “barrier” in the key areas of potential entry. I have been using nano-silver in this way from the beginning.
In addition, it will be in my trio for treatment – Ivermectin, Zinc (BioAnQ brand) and nano-silver. I don’t ever use antibiotics, so the nano-silver replaces the Doxycycline in my lineup should I be exposed or have symptoms.

This article has the potential to RE-FOCUS and RESET the conversation – in so many ways. Anyone else agree?

I am lamenting (in typical Eeyore fashion) the establishment of something currently labeled as “Cancel Culture”. It has been packaged into a “thing”, and is now being used as a weapon of mass destruction and division. Cancel Culture as a “thing” – is more dangerous, destructive, and deadly than the thingish things that the Cancellers are screaming must be cancelled. Listening to FOX News you might think that EVERYTHING is at risk of being cancelled and you are directed to be afraid, and upset about what you have lost and angry at those who are behind it. Their rants on Cancelling are no different than Orwell’s Two Minutes of Hate.
It’s all so black and white don’t you know!?! Come on…six Dr. Seuss books are being recalled and not cancelled by the Foundation responsible for RESPONSIBLY shepherding the Seuss legacy into the future. Look how fast the entire episode became framed as another Cancel Culture attack by the Wokesters. Why did it not become a feature story about what’s changed in the world and how/why these editions are being shelved? Yes it is far MOAR attractive to generate anger and hate, and the Viewers just can’t get enough! Viewers thrive on it and so does FOX. WINNING all around. (Will stop, am heading into Dr D territory here).
What ever happened to good old TOLERANCE? Let’s get things out into the open and look at them TOGETHER. Even Pooh knew.
Way back in 1997 my Alma Mater Miami University (Oxford Ohio) changed its mascot from Redskins to Redhawks. They didn’t need Cancel Culture, Wokesters, or Karens to make them do it. They did it out of RESPECT and in response to a request from the local Miami Tribe. This is how tolerance works – it gets negotiated between the parties of two sides/minds.
Side note: Same thing goes for WOKE. It has been hijacked and turned into another weapon. How dare those nasty Wokesters – pushing us around and ruining everything by telling us all how to live. Yep, it’s more false choices….Us against Them. Winners and Losers. Hey, how about a little UNDERSTANDING here? Name calling and pointing fingers, that’s just so elementary. Even HUMBLE Bear brains can comprehend it. Open your Pooh Hearts and invite some COMPASSION inside for a little chat.

The process of arriving…at knowing, as shared above – is the inner work at work in the world. Am certain that your garden is responding well to your shift in awareness.
We’re just going to have to disagree on “But it takes a very long time to effect a “mass” change in consciousness that results in changes in the “physical” world.” How many do we need to “flip the script” to achieve “mass”? Does it matter? Why worry? Just sit quietly and find out.
A collective shift is not bound by time. Every act of positivity, of LOVE matters – and rolls into the mighty flow. On the Path with you, Sister.

In my opinion, the most practical and actionable things we can do are 1) inner work on ourselves (that seeks answers to John Day’s question above + more) which involves contemplation, reflection, and meditation and 2) bring insight from our personal exploration (inner work) back into the world, living it in real time in everyday life.Reject EvilCorp narratives. Find your own (and call it a Mantra) – see where it takes you. A collective shift is not bound by time. Every act of positivity, of LOVE matters – and rolls into the mighty flow. Do not let anyone convince you otherwise.

She is deep into metaphysics (vs. physics) which I believe might offer an additional strategy – on the way to/beyond collapse – for shaping the future. Why not explore the possibility that focused human consciousness could have on transforming the individual and the world?
Some of us will continue to read her writing and will selectively share.
@RIM: Am curious about why you used the word “cult” when referring to Caitlin Johnstone yesterday. How did you arrive at that conclusion – to the point where you no longer read her posts?
I find her contribution to be important because it is completely unique. She openly shares her spiritual journey (which is not clear to me Buddhist/Taoist/Yogic) mixed in with real life experience. IF there was a visual component to her work it might just be ‘A Comet’s Journey’.
